Kishi seems to match characters for reasons.

Shikamurderer will kill Hidan and had a hand in Kakuzu's death because of the shogi shit.

Kakuzu was killed by CockCockShe, notice they both had half their faces covered by a mask.

Now, Deidara has the art fanatic thing, and so does Sai. Maybe Sai was even created to go against Dei.

So, that wouldn't be a bad thing necessarily, BUT, if Sai kills Deidara, then I will hate the guy who is currently my 2nd favorite. It'll be a real slap in the face to me if I've supported the guy who is set to kill the man of my dreams.

What if you were put in a room with all of them, and you had to choose one? Ok well that's Dei. What if you had to choose two? I mean, how would you pick? Sexy Itachi....sexy Sasori...sexy Hidan....Im sure Kakuzu and AL must be hot...

Hmm...having to pick one would be a tough choice between Itachi and Hidan. I guess I'd go with Itachi though, just because he's the one that I liked first. And two would definitely be Itachi and Hidan.

And I'd definetly not want to see a rematch of Dei with the Sand, just cause it's already been done, and the Sand arc was resolved. I want a new match altogether. I think you're onto something Julia, I noticed that Kishi pairs up opponents to match each other very well, like I used to worry Shikamaru would hurt our Deidei but now I know I should have seen it would be Hidan what with the Shogi thing.

Anyway, so the two being artists may mean they were made for one another.^__^

I don't think we'd have to worry Sai'd kill Dei, I think Sai is one of the sweeter ninja, look how he wouldn't assassinate Sasuke.:)

I'm so planning to learn vid games to get to Deidei!

Wonder if someone posted already. I thought Deidara name is base off from a celtic/gaelic name.

That is a good theory, but Naruto people's names come from Japanese roots. Although nobody is 100% sure so you could be onto something.

Let's see. Deirdre is kind of the Irish version of Helen of Troy. A blonde beauty who was supposed to grow up to be so beautiful that kings would go to war for her. So the king of Ulster (that's basically Northern Ireland now) decided to hide her away and marry her when she was old enough. Unfortunately, she happened to meet a young warrior named Naoise, and fell in love with him. So they had to flee Ireland with his two brothers.

So eventually they're tricked into returning. Bad things happen, the three men are killed, and Deirdre's going to be given to her lover's murderer. So she either kills herself or dies of grief, depending on the version.
