To say the least, I'm pretty hyped about this game. I know it doesn't necessarily have the best fighting engine, but I saw a couple videos and it seems to have captured Dragon Ball pretty well in comparison to the last two games. The only thing missing is the 5 minute screams. If they had that, I'd be set.

There's teleporting in terms of defense (at the right time you can teleport behind the opponent to dodge an attack) and offense (you can combo someone in the air repeatedly, so far up to 5 times). Apparently you can fly independently as well. Check out ign.com and see the videos. They are really awesome. They also list the changes.

I just saw the videos i think that one between piccolo and son gohan is the best i like piccolos "sanke-arm".
Now i have a huge desire to play against my little brother (and beat the crap out of him)

This game looks excellent in comparison to the first 2, the fist one had story mode which was great, you fight all the way up to the cell saga, after beating cell the game ends, when Budokai 2 came out you assume that your going to be fight Buu as the story line, well I, and millions of others were wrong, instead you have the shitty Dragon World, which was crap! Now this game as around 5 different game modes, a ton of charachters and more. One of the things that pissed me off with the previous games is the combo system, the moves were the same with every chachter P,P,K,K,E etc. If they haven't changed that I'm gonna freak!

I was actually at the world premeir demo of this event in San Francisco and can tell you a few things about it. I start with a short summary and then just answer any questions if you have them...

Basically, it is very similar to Budokai 3 in terms of graphics, fighting mechanics, and almost everything else. But they did add a few nice upgrades like beam struggles (that look awesome), improved flying (though the only "free flight" is in the RPG mode, in the fighting you can just fly a little better), and of course some new characters and special attacks. There are also teleport counters kind of like kawamari in NH2, a new kind of mini-cutscene combos in addition to the supers, improved transformations (including a truly breathtaking Cooler transformation), and a few nice tweaks like blocking tires you out.

So basically, it is the same mediocre fighting engine with some nice new features to make the battles a little more interesting, pretty impressive graphics, and an RPG-like mode that could be anything from total crap to good fun. Overall, it will be pretty good actually, just not an amazing fighter. They are kind of in the middle between a true fighter like Tekken and a game like Narutimate Hero in that they add other things besides traditional fighting to keep it interesting.

There's lots of other details but that is the main gist for those interested.

I enjoyed the previous Budokai games, the whole Dragon World thing in 2 was a total let down though, I sure hope they've changed that. Even if they haven't, I'm looking forward to getting my hands on this one!
Other than that, all I can wish for is Future or GT Trunks... :)

Funny how the music in the Budokai games is better than the one in the dub,lol*plays Budokai 2's theme*

Though B3 looks impressive,I'm sure it's the same ol' engine with afew tweaks here and there.I'll stick to my Street Fighter and Tekken thank you very much:D

Having check out the lastest review from Gamespot shocking .

I own, but am not a huge fan of budokai 1 & 2. 1 was an alright, but meager first attempt(but could be overlooked as a first try). 2 was overall better, and made the fights slightly more fun, but still wasn't too good.

3 looks like it may be able to break the streak. Especially with the addition of instant transmission combos and combo breaking moves..it may atleast speed teh pace up and make people more agressive.

they really need to change the attack format though..

I got it yesterday Nov. 17 that is and so far I've beat it with Goku and am about to beat it with Vegeta. This game is pretty cool, but took me a while to get used to the countering system. Either way get this game!

Wow, i'm impressed by the reviews. They are all around the 8-8.5 mark which is a vast improvement from the previous installments. Apparently it 'feels' like a real fighter this time. And I love the graphics!! Look so cool...but of course living in Australia i'll have to wait for ages to get it.

ummm some other new ones Cell Jr, Bardok, kid Goku (from DB Complete poll) and Future Trunks can use his sword now :NF smile: For Goku and Vegita there Attacks Change depending on the Form your in Like Normal Goku will Use the Spirit Bomb but SS Goku Uses the Dragon Fist (Ryu Ken)

The E X P system for Dragon Universe and Dragon Arena is also really Fun

the only Problem I have is that the Comp uses the Dragon Rush Way to Much

Budokai 3 is by far the best DBZ game I have ever played. I still havent figured out the DragonRUSH thing though. It seems just to happen at random. Playing as Kid Goku is fun as hell, his power poll P3wns.
in Hyper Mode when You hit some one Hard (as in Nock them back) hit the E button when you land the attack and you will go in to it (I found it eazy to just hit them with a -> E attack then hit E when it connects (well as long as they didnt block lol)

To me the best player has to be SSJ4 Gogeta. But I'm still missing two players cell jr and saibamen. Those characters are supposedly available in Dragon Arena, but I've played for hours and only had one 'break-in' and all I got was 'sparkling' capsule. Oh well, back to work. This game is still pretty cool though.

I agree that this game is awsome. I need a couple more characters other than the Saibamen and the Cell Jr.s but SSJ4Gogeta is sooo strong! Drawback is he is only useable for like 30 seconds.

Didn't expect much out of this game but I gave it a rent and just played the hell out of it. it's a good fighitng game even if you don't like DBZ. Though I'm not too fond of the dragonrush moves...

hmmm lets see *Possable Spoilers*

they changed the Ki system around a little now (its Kind of hard to explain though) you still have 7 bars but umm Say you are goku you start out with 3 Large Bars and 4 Small Bars if your energy drops in to the three large bars it will start to regenerate to fill them but if your energy goes in to the Small bars it will start to decrease now if you go SS2 it will transform in to 4 Large and 3 small and SS3 goes to 5 Large and 2 Small and so on (this changes with different People like Uub starts out with 5 and Omega Shenron starts out with all 7 )

To use an Ultimate you have to Go in to Hyper Mode (hit all 4 Face buttons) in Hyper Mode you are harder to Knock back but your Ki will Continue to Decrease. in Hyper Mode just hit all 4 Face Buttons again to use your Ultimate

Dragon Universe is kind of like a FF style World Map you can fly around in and look around for Items, Hidden Scenes and DBs but it only has 11 charcters though once you beat them all you can play Dragon Arena which is a Final Bout style level up place where you have like Hundreds of different people at different levels to Gain EXP (My Cell Jr's Are unstopable). and there is an unlockable Cell Games style Turnament which has no Ring outs and no Skill Limiatations but Hard AI it can be really fun with Meta Cooler though

Fight the Level 32 Videl with like a level 15 or so Kid Gohan once or twice and Piccolo should break in for Cell Jr

and for Saibamen just use a level 10-20 and fight people in the thirty's or so and Nappa Should break in

and For the Cell games I got it using a Level 23 Adult Gohan vs Level 52 Trunks and Chose the Cell Arena

His space ship automatically makes him the best guy to use in the game...

FOr making money. Uub + Sparkiling is very good. Can get 200,000 if you were to want Ki Cannon that can finish off Tournament fights very quickly.

Just got it today, so far I've really enjoyed it. I like the fact that you can do different parts of the story depending on which character you use for Dragon Universe, however I pity anyone who tries to make sense of the story without having knowledge of the anime or manga storyline. I liked B1 for the story mode.

I'm looking forward to pumping up my guys so they'll be really hard :)
Um... And for those of you with very dirty minds, I mean getting higher levels and stats so they're strong...

Oh yes... Cooler is straight pwnage. Go spaceship!!! It's awesome when you have level 20 Health as well. If you don't win somehow with that, you should start practicing some more.

Kid Goku's ultimate has to be the best though. It brought back so many memories of when I used to watch old school DB tapes from Japan that my uncle sent me when I was 10. I mean, it isn't necessarily the same, but doing the ultimate to Piccolo over and over again brings tears to my eyes. I wish he did the Kamehameha with his feet, too. That would have been perfect. But my biggest joy is doing the ultimate to Videl. It's fun having Goku burst through her body.

I'm just sad that we got an unfinished version of the game. Apparently in the Japanese one that will be out in February, you can choose Bulma, Janemba, and many others. And there will be more DUs as well. Bleh.
