For those of you who play Maple Story, the free MMORPG. I created this Thief guide which will help you create the PERFECT thief.

Maple Story: Dagger Thief Guide

1) Character Making!!

Alright, you'll probably have to make a character right?? First, make your stats so that the Str and Int come out as 4,4. Although having it at 5,4 or 4,5 is alright. If you can, try to make it so it comes out as 4,4. This is what people like to call, the perfect stats. ^ ^

2) Training Your Character

Okay, now that you made your character you should have your character level up to level 10 well, right? Once in a while people get to Lith Harbor before becoming level 10. You cannot return back to this island either. You should train hard at Maple Road. ^ ^ It is the road with the forked route ^ ^ It would be good if you did the hat and knife quest. ^ ^ Now, if you have became level 10 then you should go to Kerning City and get the Thief job right?? If you don't know where to get the job then ask the other players around. ^ ^ On from level 10, I'll show you the best places to train. ^ ^

10~15 : Elinia, "The Tall Tree" Recommended
15~18 : Kerning City, "Kerning City Construction Site" Recommended
18~23 : Hidden Street, "Seashore of Pigs" Recommended
23~30 : Sleepywood, "Ant Cave" Recommended

I recommend the above places to train at. ^ ^

3) Equipment Honoring the Thief!

Now the equipment section.. Getting the equipment for the thief gets me pissed off. The recent prices for the equipment are too high when the level requirement is only 10. That gets me really pissed off.. So without a lot of money, getting the equipment is very hard. ^ ^;; So take that into consideration.

4) Stats & Skills

We've done the beginning stats but I haven't shown you how to raise it during level ups. I guess now it's time for the skills as well.. ^ ^;; Either way, I'll teach you how to put on your stats. ^ ^ Follow these steps for level ups. ^ ^

From Level 1~10 : Make it so that Dex is exactly at 25 and put the rest of it on Luk!!
From Level 11~15 : Make Dex 30 and the rest go to Luk!!
From Level 16~20 : Make Dex 40 and the rest go to Luk!!
From Level 21~30 : Make Dex 60 and the rest go to Luk!!

Raise both stats at the same time but don't go over the amount of Dex I said to during the levels. ^-^ Next I'll show you how to raise your skills. ^o^ This shows the way to create the best character. ^ ^

Nimble Body = 20 (Mastered)
Disorder = 3
Dark Sight = 10
Double Stab = 10

If you do the following, you'll be the best. ^ ^
* Double Stab should only be at 10 because it is powerful and consumes little MP. Only 7. If you raise it any higher, than you'll have to use 14 MP so make sure you only get it to 10. After that, you can put the rest of the skill points wherever you feel like putting them.

5) Raising The Skills By Each Level

For 4 levels, save up until you have at least 10 skill points. Since you start with one skill point when getting the job, you have to level up by 3 more. Once you have 10 skill points, raise Double Stab all at one time. After this you should start raising it as follows:

Lv. 14~16 : Nimble Body 2, Disorder 1
Lv. 17~21 : Nimble Body 1, Dark Sight 2
Lv. 22~24 : Nimble Body 3

For the next level ups until Level 30, add the skill points to whatever you want. I woud add to Dark Sight because sometimes longer range can help with level ups and avoid getting hit in dangerous situations.

One question, when can you make your character into either Thief, Archer, Magician or Knight (or is it Swordsman lol)?

you need to get to level ten...take a boat to the city which you wanna go to that has the job (big city=ninja, forest=mage, village=archer, mountains=swordsman)

yeah i'll try to get one together for an assassin. o and btw u can become a mage at lvl 8. 2 levels earlier than the other classes.

yes i think this game is a lot better than fairyland..... cuz FL went p2p..... T_T

EDIT: Oh, for fighter you need 35 STR. Bowman and thief needs 25 DEX and Mage needs 25 INT. Just remember that fighter is 35 STR, not 25. I screwed up the first time beacuse of that ^_^

Haha Im level 18 now... warrior. And stuck at that stupid lvl15 flower quest! I hate the map when you touch that statue thingy. Stupid flying balls and small land... I practically fall a hundred times! *grumbles*

It's a total 2D rip-off of Ragnarok, which was a rip-off of some other game, which gives you an endless chain.

All in all, MapleStory sucks.

i played it while it was beta. i wsa theif and level 18. my friends were around level 36 all mage and theives....oh well. after it became official, all of our accounts got erased....so much for maple. and it has no story line. and ive never seen anybody but that guy from korea who was lvl 150 something own a balrog....

Ok its not random, Alot of mmrpgs have snails, mushrooms, and the rest. There are other game other than Evercrap and Wow that alot of people play(and usually its asian people). And logically think about it. If you want fast pasted, not stragistic battles/fighting mmorpgs aren't for you. Mainly the mmorpg part, they're more for people who enjoy rpg, and would like to play online with other people. And if you really want to play, get a high lvls or two, and become a well known player you take the time to get all of the boring basic training done so that when your high a level, you can go after the huge monsters that also take time. Yes it can be boring at some point, but its also fun if you just take the dam time and are patient..

I agree with you on the underlines and don't on the italics. I seem to not have patience with Maple and there are all these losers that are like level Kajillion and 2 that make fun of you for being like level 50 so it gets very annoying. Plus no PvP. Sorry if I offended you or anything. I like to play games with a lot of PvP fighting. Like GunZ for example. I had some italics but I forgot quotes were automatically italicized (sp)

I used to play, had a few level 60+ level characters back on beta. And had a few 60-70 characters when it went official. Got tired of the lack of updates and the fact that there was just too many annoying little kids running around. Happy I quit, just wish I had quit earlier. I still got some friends that play.
