but heck, i only got vol. 27 in the mange, does anyone know if it has comed out any further or where the hell i can download it !!??!! :D

i've seen 1st-3rd stage and extra stage. just waiting for 4th stage (Project D) to finish, then go to DVD/VCD.

I've also read the manga and it's alright. But I dont like how they've "shortened" the names or given new names for some of the characters. Also the dialog in the manga is really chopped up, and hacked up, it makes some of the more respectable characters sound dumb. But in the manga, it has some parts that they dont show or talk about in the Anime. so its pretty okay.

I actually just downloaded the 4th stage episode 1 the other day. Of course I have no idea about Initial D other than what is explained in the first episode of the 4th Stage, so throughout the entire episode I was trying to figure out who I'm supposed to root for. I still don't know ^_^, but I really loved the art/design.

Dude you need to find the first 2 series and watch them. It sets everthing up. Make sure you watch in original with subtitles. DO NOT! I REPEAT DO NOT! WATCH THE GOD AWFUL @$@$$$@! THAT IS THE TOKYOPOP DUBBED INITIAL D "TRICK OUT VERSION!"

The dub is... quite sad, really.
Tokyopop says the "trick out" the damn thing, but all it's got are freaking WIPES added between angle changes during driving scenes (and they only have about four different types of camera wipes, I counted). They don't sharpen the animation or anything. Plus their music is godawful, the cheap DJ they hired for it can't touch the original J-Pop/Eurobeat.

Although, it's good to know, the shortened/Americanized names were officially established. Not a liberty taken by Tokyopop. But just so American viewers/readers can better identify with it, like Detective Conan/Case Closed is. A few of them do make sense, "Natsuki-Natalie/Ryohsuke-Ry". I'd really like to hear a genuine American anime watcher say that they prefer name changes over the original stuff, that otherwise they feel alienated by the foreign names.

So my dilemma is, I just finished episode 8 of Fourth Stage and I'm going through some serious withdrawl here. In order to help me get my fix...

Could someone please tell me where the manga picks up from this point (Keisuke just beat the girl in the black FD). And most importantly, where can I download it from?

I would really appreciate any help with sites, but preferably downloading through torrent. I've tried to learn mIRC before, and it was similar to Rock Lee's attempts at ninjutsu (in other words, not good). Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Well I'm a manga reader and I like the anime a lot(one of my favorite animes despite me not being too into cars...). Hmm... comparing the manga to the anime. Well I'd say both are good. The anime does things really well, awesome animation, awesome music, but then it leaves out a lot of stuff. Manga on the other hand has more stuff andnice car art(characters not nearly as good as the cars and the stages). So I won't say that the anime or the manga is better in this case.

But yeah Initial D is awesome... Definitely the best car mangas IMO (though I don't recall reading a lot) and one of the better mangas.

My brother only reads the Initial D manga, but stopped after he got to volume 31, saying that the main character *Don't know how to call him in Japanese, I read the Mandarin Version* is unbeatable, because even with his suspention and everything broken, he still won. I think that Initial D is the same as E'XD, on the last OVA episode, I can CLEARLY see Souichi is going to die but he still beats the senior Super 7 driver! PURE BULLSHIT!!

Well there are reasons for him winning. Unlike before, it's not skills as lately (well I only looked at 31 raw, only on around volume 26 or 27 whever Inane was at a few weeks ago in the manga which is basically only a bit past the end of 4th stage) his opponnents have been more skilled most of the time. Really it's a combination of Takumi's skill and experience (despite being younger he's driven longer than probably nearly all of his opponnents) and Ryousuke's strategy. Unlike most series where the main characters is basically a newbie and then always wins. And Takumi has lost more than once already.... But I'd still like to see him lose more...

The more, the better XD

And its seriously aint that much, when you see the 18chapters - 1 volume, you think its going to be hella lot chapters each volume. But its overall 200 220 pages each volume. And since its a 'car race' manga the panels are filled with small details etc.
