mike, have you read all those, otherwise why make a list? and no, its pretty realistic to read those books over 2-5 years, and under one if you dont work/go to school.

Yeah, I've read about half of the ones you've listed. And you left off alot of my favorites too. Not to mention only some of Donaldson's work.

martryn, do you actually recommend most of those though, and which ones the most?

And KnK why do you have a Russian coke bottle? I don't remember them differing too much from American ones...except the glass is thinner and the top breaks instead of the cap coming off once in a while.

I've actually read most of those books...*is a sci-fi fiend*...but you are missing the last three books of the Dune series...oh...and anyone that mentions Ray Bradbury, which I did see The Martian Chronicles, Fahrenheit 451, The Illustrated Man, and Something Wicked This Way Comes, automatically gets an A+ from me because he is my favorite author. I'll have to read some of those again so I can remember them...xD

The ones in red are the ones I can recommend. Most of the rest I've never even heard of. And all there is up there looks like sci-fi and fantasy, which I do read, but I can't say that that is all there is to read.

I most highly recommend: Hitchhiker's Guide series, anything by Aasimov (Foundation series), Donaldson (Lord Foul's Bane, Illearth War, The power that Preserves), Watership Down, The Once a Future King, and the first of the Dune books (they start to suck after the first one). Oh, and of course Ender's Game (just the 1st one) and LotR. Slaughterhouse V is good too. Most things by Vonnegut are. And Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep is really good. Most of the books in that series are. Its what Bladerunner was based off of. And I can't remember, was Eater's of the Dead there too? That's a good one.

I read about 120 books a year, but to be conservative let's say I read 100 a year. Now, supposing I live 100 years, that's -- um, like a hundred million books l0lz?

Project Gutenberg has a ton of free books to d/l...but nothing recent...mostly classics...

I didn't know it had classics thanks for pointing that out.
also what books do you read? sometimes I read books that are about science and stuff like that but it is filled with opinions from a person and kind of small talk. I hate that. It's like you are talking to a person but you can't communicate.

wow nybarius, when do you find the time to do sport, go out, watch tv and NF?

I don't do any sports--NYC, I'd have to find a league--I have a gym in my building, I hardly ever go out, and I'm usually on NF with a book next to me.

Your body needs stretching and body language is a huge deal in interesting(because>), humorous social ingagement. Thinking is fun but using skills in different ways and seeing creativity is the most unknown and therefore full of (thinking) enjoyment.
Anyway I am reading the hitchhikers guide. all 5 books. really fun man.

If anyone has some interesting books in pdf form. wanna trade?
