I completely agree. GetBackers is a brilliant series, even it the end is a little bit of a let down. ^_^ It has gat stories and fab characters, well worth a look!

Thsi is probably the 2nd best anime i have seen (Shaman King is first, dont know why, really enjoyed it :P ) it has everyhting

chracter development, humour, drama GREAT fight scenes and CHibi Ginji!

i kinda liked the end, wish there was a third series though :(

For anyone who has seen Get Backers, what the hell was the deal with the Perfume Girl's brother. Did they just not bother answering any of the questions posed by that revelation (Why did Mido kill her brother and what is meant by a last child). If there is anyone who can give me some insight, please do.

I can't really recall, but they were the 'lost children' or something. Himiko's bro (his name escapes me right now) Wanted Ban to do it or something. I'll rewatch that bit and get back to you.

On another note, the manga should give some insight on it.

They hardly revealed anything about the Lost Children in the anime (I think a mention of the name at most), if we want answers, we'll have to consult the manga.

Thats a very pretty piccy of Ginji in the sig :P GetBackers is great. I have such a hard time choosing a favourite character though, they are all great. Som besides the obvious Ginji and Ban, I liked Kazuki too. Natsumi makes me laugh also :D

Fav character in Get Backers... Hmm...

Guess that would have to be either Ginji when he's the 'Lightning Emperor' or that Cruz-guy who controls light in the last episodes. Both of them are very cool. But as a character in whole, I guess I'd have to say Ginji, especially when him and Ban are in Chibi-form. :P

two guys that are always broke are the getbackers...they claim to get everything back to you (lost things etc etc ) and if i remember right ginji was a former gang leader and can control electricity and ban has an ability to create an illusion for 1 minute...you should give it a chance..it's really good ;]..and the manga is said to be even better :)

Guess I'll make a little bigger explanation of the GetBackers anime than the others so far. :P

So. The anime is about Midou Ban and Amano Ginji, they call themselves the "GetBackers", and say that they can find anything, and bring it back for sure. Midou Ban has a special power called 'Evil Eye'. It basically makes a person see a dream where Ban can do whatever he pleases with the person seeing the dream. He also has another ability called 'Snake Bite', wich is in his left hand. His hand can squeese a mans skull (about 150-200kg's of pressure). Then we have Amano Ginji. Born and raised in the 'Infinite Castle'*. Also known as the 'Lightning Emperor', as he can control lightning, and he was the leader of the group 'VOLTS'* inside the Infinite Castle.

These two go on missions to get back stuff that people have lost. Can be anything from a teddy bear to un-valuable artworks.

It's a quite funny anime. Especially when Ban and Ginji are in chibi-form (they have very round and cute faces with big eyes).

It's worth watching so give it a try.


Side note:

*Infinite Castle: A huge building in the middle of the city they live in. First it is the lower levels of the tower, where normal people can live. Then it's the middle level where quite strange people can live. Then it's the Babylon Tower level, where people with strange ability's (Ginji's ability to shoot lightning for example). Also, the people who are born inside the Infinite Tower cannot go out of it. They don't exist in the outside world. Ginji is an exception however.

*VOLTS: A group that consisted of four King's. One who controled beasts, 'Monkey Boy' -or Shido. Then there was Kazuki, who used bells and threads as weapons. MAKUBEX, yes, that is his name. The only one of the four kings to be born inside Infinite Castle. He can control anything that has to do with computers. Then the last one, can't remember his name but his last name was Cruz, he could control the light. And the boss over these four 'Kings' where Ginji, the 'Lightning Emperor'.

akabane kuroudo, aka dr. jackal, is the coolest character in that series!!! not only does he have those knives inside his body, he also has that sick sociopathic smile whenever he kills!!! definitely my fave!!!

rest of the info is spot on, however the people inside the lower part of the tower weren't *that* normal. ginji was raised there. The people in the middle section were somewhat stronger than the lower level ones. The ones at the top were immensely powerful and had to do with the creaton and maintainment of the tower. Also the Mugenjou is a computerized VR heaven, so you won't really know what is real and what is fake in there. In fact some people born in there are merely illusions and therefore cannot get out...

im sorry if this thread has already popped up somewhere, but anyone here like the get backers anime/manga? i love it. its my second best anime i like, 1st being Bleach, 2nd Get Backers, and 3rd Naruto. my fav. character in GB would be Ginji Amano :D

I absolutely loved the anime. The animation style was beautiful and the story was amazing (though a little rushed). After I finished up with the anime I've moved onto the manga (as it elaborates further and a bit better).

I haven't gotten around to the manga yet (how many volumes are translated so far, anyways?), but I'd like to read it. I enjoyed the anime a lot, and I really feel it is often overlooked due to more popular shounen-series. I don't think Getbackers lacked anything that Naruto or Bleach (arguably the most popular shounen-series right now, in the mainstream fan community) have.

Akabane aka Dr.Jackal, was an awesome character by the way. He ranks right up there with Hisoka on my strange but cool villains list.

My only beef is the second season. I admit, I was laughing to some episodes though being fillers, and the final arc was rushed. :(

The series could have ended in 26 episodes. But as I said, there were some episodes in the season season that was worth it. Loved the hot springs episode. I still find myself laughing whenever I watch it. :laugh

i liked this anime and the ending is ont of those endings where more can come ( like a second season but will not happen) the second opening theme rocks. Overall a good anime with great characters and cool music

for those of you playing the home game the ketsupuri gang are from groove adventure rave, they are the gang with the large asses
