K, this thread will contain spoilers, but I recommend you tag them all as part of it is still relevant to anime watchers
K, do you think Rukia knew Urahara before he turned up to offer her a Gigai?
this is where it gets a bit spoilerish
We know Urahara is exiled.
And that Renji and Byakuya were able to locate Rukia.
How has Urahara managed to escape when he remains in the same shop??
Also if Rukia knew where to find Urahara, then wouldnt that mean that she like Youruichi should be banished for aiding him in his escape and evasion ?
Sorry to Anime Watchers as this thread is really for Manga watchers !!

I dont mind reading spoilers even though ( i dont read the manga)
But i kinda gathered this anyway.
I have no idea about the rukia/Urahara thing though.

I don't think that Rukia helped Urahara escape or anything and i think that she knew him from earlier and that they are good friends so she won't rat him out

But in not ratting him out she could be said to be aiding him in his evasion of the law. Surely the fact that she accepted a gigai from him would be enough to implicate her ?? Especially considerig how harsh SS law has been up until now.

Even though SS know where Urahara is, i dont think they are willing to sacrifice members of the Gotei 13. And fighting in the human world is kind of taboo ? And maybe they didnt know about Rukia's connection with Urahara or Aizen maybe hid the information since he needed Rukia.

Rukia connections to Urahara
It was not Rukia who asked for gigai! It was Urahara who appeared near to her (during/after first Ichigo fight (with hollow in ep 1 after she gave him her powers) and offered her a gigai. Rukia for sure have known who Urahara was, but she was suprised to met him in human's world.

Yea, but SS now know she had that Gigai the one he was exiled for making...I would have thought they wouldnt be too happy that she accepted such a thing, especially if she knew who he was and what he had been kicked out for. And then for not contacting them about it, as well as her various other misdemeanors.
And so just because aizen got away everybody is forgiven and all is happy and peaceful once again ?? Seems a little rosy compared to what we had seen before of the strictness of SS law.

They need every member back? And it aint sure that rukia would get death sentence, since Aizen played his cards to put her in to that position

I know, but they do seem to have strict regulations, like for example when Gin met Ichigo and the gang at the gate. He would have been disiplined had it not been war time rules.
They werent overly shocked when the death sentence was given, so it cant be that abnormal.
It just seems strange that all the 'crimes' that were commited have not been brought up before they allowed the ryoka to leave.[spoiler]
[spoiler=Side Note]And on another side note, what on earth happened to Yorouichi ? I cant remember seeing her on the carpet ?

well i dont think rukia actually knew Urahara, but she probably heard of him and saw his picture or something. cuz honestly if you were in rukia's situation and saw a guy with a sandal hat say 'hey you want a spare artificial body i have laying around my shop?'
-or-
because rukia was the active shinigami in that region, maybe she met Urahara because she sensed his spiritual power.
well Rukia dint know im personly i think mabye only knew who is was. Kisuke came to Rukia becose he needed a person to hide his Creation. since he got exiled for SS they proably dont care to come after him, or he have found a way to hide him self that we dont know off.

How has Urahara managed to escape when he remains in the same shop?
That's cos Urahara uses one of his own creations (the stealth gigai), so they just haven't found him anywhere. Remember that even Rukia was untrackable, until she showed her face in TV (the Don Kanonji -show) and was spotted by some supervisor -guy.

And the Yoruichi propably just jumped off the carpet and went where she liked to.

Yea that does sound like youruichi
And I can see what your saying as far as Uraharas avoidance of SS.
But it still remains that all these issues have come to light, and even though its war time it seems like they have just brushed it under the carpet and gone "Well, if you nearly destroy SS again, then we'll tell you off"
Maybe its just me but I soooo expected a trial and a whole load of 'flashback' mangas whilst he prepared the next arc...

Rukia didn't know who Yoruichi was. Therefore she doesn't know who Urahara was. IMO.
Plus Urahara seeked her out.
Actually I think Rukia had heard of the name Shihouin Yoruichi, I believe she said so when Yoruichi saved Ichigo from Byakuya in Soul Society. However Rukia did not know what she looked like or that she was in connection with Urahara.
And yes, Urahara seeked her out.

Soul Society does not after Urahara at all.
Here what I think:
Urahara has something up his sleeves that makes SS does not dare to approach him.
The same reason applies to Isshin.
Urahara invents something which is much more controversial than Gigai. :amazed

To be put in exile means that you can never return. I don't think SS is hunting Urahara, he just can never return to SS.
No, Rukia did not know Urahara before he offered her a gigai. She probably knew he was banished for pushing the limits within the Research Divsion but never knew the details.
