View Full Version : Will anyone else learn Kanka?
Asuna's making good use of it, but it has so much potential for spell casting yet the three people who've used it don't cast any spells.

Ku Fei should.

Godel is a good possibility considering he's with Takahata for a long time and can learn techniques by just seeing them just like how he learned Shinmeiryuu techniques. He probably even has good knowledge in magic.
But in all seriousness Negi should learn Kanka.

It may just be me who never got this... But what exactly does Kanka do? I know it's a mixture of Magic and Ki, but...

It's a way to power up physical abilities through synthesis of magic and ki.

It hasn't really been explained but if we look at Takamichi it seems like it essentially creates an aura that would supercharge physical attacks.
That said I agree with Ku Fei. It would be interesting to see her using it with her kung fu (Imagine something like Rakan's "Rakan for the hell of it right hand punch" http://www.onemanga.com/Mahou_Sensei_Negima!/237/12/ )
Would be a good way to bring her up to speed with the rest of the party (if her eventual artifact doesn't do so already) especially now since she seems to be falling behind in ability/utility compared to the others the others that (intentionally) came to the magic world.

So essentially, it does what Ki does, but just better?

It was also called the ultimate art at some point.

kanka is the ultimate power up. it's like kaio ken from DBZ except it powers up lots of trivial things besides the usual power up for your attacks and defences and there is no drawback for overuse like magia erebea.
it combines both the eastern and western styles of magic by making use of both the ambiental magic energy and corporeal ki energy

I want you to get up, put shoes on, go down town, and find a hooker. Right now, no questions, you need it.

i would if i had money to fix my car and go do that. vacation time means pennyless time for me
edit: anyways i found a page that explains some of kanka's power but i can't find the first time takamichi and asuna did it

Like Blazing shadow's link points out, it also grants resistance to cold and damage and a bunch of other stuff. It also seems to have a synergistic effect so even though it fuses Magic and Ki, it seems to power up the person more than just the sum of the magic power and ki power.
Furthermore, normally a person's ki and magic conflict:

I think the compatibility practice she's talking about. So without Kanka, you can't even use the two together.
And Rakan compared Magia Erebea to it, calling it the ultima art:
