Was honestly not sure which forum to post this topic since it deals wiith both manga and anime, but I chose this one because not all manga have a related anime. Some folks in the anime forum may not know of some of the manga that will get listed. Or should this be in the anime foum, or both? Mods, feel free to move this thread, or duplicate it in the anime forum...

Anyway, what manga would you like to see be made into a proper anime, or which anime get re-animated to follow the manga? Feel free to include your choice of animation studios, too.

Trinity Blood need an anime that's more than just visually good and with a fitting soundtrack, to much was cut away leaving a confusing storyline.


12 Kingdoms though not a manga, was well done as an anime, but the Novels still far outdoes it especially the last 6 episodes of the anime were horrible.


For a manga that havent had an anime yet deserves it: Mx0 and i'd like for them to extend it and end it.

Why 20th Century Boys? I think it works as a manga, can't think of why making an anime is necessary. I think animes should be made when music/animated action sequences/color would add to the experience, but in the case of 20cb I only see the music being something that might make it better, (creepy music), but there's really no need for either animation or color.

Tsubasa Chronicle (re-boot, and full adaption by Production IG, and retains the crossover elements between xxxHolic)

Berserk is the only manga I currently read that doesn't have an ongoing adaption so it's the only one I can really post.

At the same time though an adaption of Berserk has a ridiculously high standard to reach so I wouldn't want to see it done unless it was really done right.

The first anime is good going by memory but they left themselves some issues if they were to follow on directly from it (introducing Puck and the Skull Knight for a start)

Also they're well aware they'd only be able to animate a few seasons then have an indefinite pause again so perhaps it's for the best there isn't another one until the manga is even remotely close to ending.

Then again if they made another season this decade, they could make more episodes in like 10 years and then finish the story off (hopefully) approximately another decade later.

I think it should be 350 minimum released so far, with no hiatuses having occured, but this only applies to weekly manga. Everything else should wait for completion or "close to the end" before the adaptation can begin. With that, the only filler present will be ones that expand the story a little (like Shippuden 82), and the pacing can be good.

1. Shin Angyo Onshi (the most epic manga I've ever read). I want a studio to do the anime EXACTLY as it appears in the manga (like Monster).

2. 20 CB (like Monster please).

3. Air Gear (it has so much potential...)

4. Gantz (completely redone please...preferrably by the people that did Hellsing)

5. Tenjou Tenge (like AG has potential to be an amazingly well-animated series)

6. Mirai Nikki (Yuno...'nuff said)

7. Claymore (it better stick to the manga plot)

8. Pluto (should be higher but I just remembered this one and don't feel like renumbering everything which, admittedly, wouldn't take too long).

This is probably my top pick for animation. Hell, I'd sacrifice all of my other choices if a certain 1932 scene from Drugs and Dominoes featuring Luck Gandor having a crowning moment of badassery could see its way to being animated.

Adaptations:

20th Century Boys: The manga is so animated and sound-based. I really feel as though it could be taken to another level should those qualities be further realized in an accurate manner.

Vagabond/REAL: A Takehiko manga adapted well would be a joy with no need of explanation as to where that joy comes from.

Hana Kimi: The studio doesn't matter to me as much as the cast list regarding this series. Since it's set in Osaka, I'd really like for the cast to take that into account with appropriate accents chosen rather than them pulling a Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and ignoring the whole Kansai region setting. Oh, and Hidenobu Kiuchi as Doctor Umeda would be a wonderful pipe dream to have realized.

Homunculus: The manga is such a quick, visual read and so engaging. Having the scenes turned from panels into colored frames would be incredible, especially with the addition of voices to increase the clarity of scene events and their impact.

Sket Dance: Much like Gintama, I anticipate greatness should this be made into an animated feature. While I worry slightly concerning certain choices they might make, it could be truly beautiful.

Dragon Head: If they managed to stay true to the original source material in content and appearance, then this would probably be the best pessimistic, disaster anime I could hope to see televised. A lot of the scenes would really benefit from great music, and I think that the scope which can ccasionally be granted by an animation frame would do a lot for this series' already epic style.

Maniattemasu!: Morinaga Ai is easily one of the most hilarious mangaka I've come across, and this is my favorite title by her. I can only imagine the comedy of punchlines increasing were they given a voice to say them.

Anything created by Asano Inio: Oh man, Njigahara Holograph made into a really well-accomplished OVA by Production I.G....

Remakes:

Amatsuki: They basically destroyed this manga with generic casting, standardization of the art style, cutting of 90% of the series' comedy and removing over half of the plotline which was actually the entire reason for the series' events taking place. As a fan of the manga, I would definitely like to see a better adaptation.

Blame!: The six episode OVA doesn't even come close to doing the original manga justice; the majority of what made the content of the manga so great is cut and spliced, in order to try and make a MADlike set of AMVs. Remake, please.

Nabari no Ou: Similar to Amatsuki, this series was a huge disappointment in the massive cuts (I'm thinking of a certain main character's gender...), editing and character replacement to force the story to fit studio expectations, bad filler ending, cheap animation, removal of nearly all the comedy (which is a huge part of the original manga) and more. Since it's one of the series I have a lot of affection for, I'd love to see it redone correctly.

Cast list and OST were perfect, though. Keep those.

Shin Angyo Onshi: Tacky OVA with poor casting and horrible artwork covering the lamest arc in the manwha. Such a crime needs must be rectified.
