Most of the animes which I liked is not in nomination. Well, I'm not blaming anime reactor. I only started watching new animes in autumn or rather to say I became animewatcher in 2008 summer. :/

Not gonan register there but taking from the possibilties of the list it would be something like this.

Favorite male: Negishi Souichi/Johannes Krauser II
Favorite Op/ED: Macross Frontier
Favorite soundtrack: Macross F

Best Villain: Isayama Yomi, even though this was based on how she was pre-villain.

Yet I will admit these votes had terrible selections IMO. And there's mny shows that seem a bit forgotten, for instance there's many of these choices I'd easily change. Guessing they were only voting for shows that ended that year, which makes the selection a bit low :/ and the lack of Kaiji in sections but one just feels all wrong to be honest.

I think I gave Kaiba the most votes, but I like both DMC and Kaiji better. Maybe Natsume Yuujinchou, too. This year was a pretty great year, imho. And I still haven't seen either Spice and Wolf or Aria the Origination.

Honestly, what is up with the Kaiji hate? Has everyone already forgotten about it? I would have given it top main character, top soundtrack, and best overall, but it wasn't nominated. :\

This year was a pretty great year, imho. And I still haven't seen either Spice and Wolf or Aria the Origination.

If you haven't watched the previous installments of Aria, do that first.
Origination is the best of 08 for me.

Origination is too moralistic. SOL is not a genre for little children, so it shouldnt teach people to live that much.

Sounds pretty dumb to me. Why should I care about such a potentially imbalanced, biased award process? I never even heard of this forum until today.

The only 2008 shows that haven't finished are stuff from Fall, and uber-long series like Soul Eater and Zettai Karen Children. Everything else is done.

And I don't like their nomination system that much, but if they didn't do it this way, Code Geass R2 would win everything. And that would suck.

Yea well it's a debatable issue, however majority of members are from anidb Staff and that's why it's not any typical anime fan site ^^ I'd recommend u to visit it.

And yea Kaiji deserves more nominees!

You'll be missing a few spots of character development, but nothing major.

Whee for DMC love. :3 Anyway, this is how I would vote if I had to choose whatever they had on the polls:

Adventure/Fantasy: Natsume Yuujinchou (I love the atmosphere of this series so much and so far the second season is just as beautiful. :love)
Action: Ga-Rei: Zero (If only Kurozuka was more coherent.)
New Comer: Michiko to Hatchin (Need more Eve no Jikan episodes!)
Quick Watch: Detroit Metal City
Soundtrack: Aria the Origination
Male character: Negishi Souichi/Johannes Krauser II (Detroit Metal City - haha, how could I resist with the kind of lines he would sprout and the difference in personality?)
Thriller/mystery: Shinreigari: Ghost Hound (although I sure do wish GRZ was on the poll :P)
