anyone read it? I just started it, and its simply amazing. I strongly recomend it if you are a fan of Berserk like I am(my favorite manga of all time). I wouldn't reccomend it for the faint of heart though. For those of you who are familiar with Berserk, its just like Berserk minus the demons replaced by humans and replace Gatts's sword with fists. Its a gore fest like berserk, heads exploding and people being ripped in half by Ken's martial arts style Hokuto Shiken or something like that. I just started it so i can't explain the story really but for Berserk fans, its a must read. Finally something that can compare with Berserk. you can get it at #lurk@irchighway.net.

I tried reading the manga, but I like the anime much better, old and new. New Fist is, one of the old anime/mangas that everyone forgot and all the hardcore fans most of them have grown up.

I loved the movie, loved the series, loved the single episode of the New Fist series that I was fortunate enough to see, but I never tried the manga...
Since usually manga > anime, I might have to read it someday...

I think this place could help.
If you are having trouble with the DL jsut go to the scanlation groups main website.
New Fist, I feel bad for because it's an old series that is most likely forgotten thorugh the years. I wish it were like Guvyer people can remeber it and still love it.
The old new Fist was amazing, much better than the new one. I loved the new one's music, by Gackt.

Is it the english version for "Ken le survivant" ? If it's that this manga is really old, I remember watching this anime when I was 6/7 years old
And all the mangas came out in France.

Yes, Hokuto no Ken is an 80's manga, but that doesn't make it any less awesome.

The new movies and OVAs aren't for Shin Hokuto no Ken, they're for the original Hokuto no Ken, so remove that second "New". XD

Oh, so they are based on the old series. I guess thats what you get for believing it from 4Chan. So, is it before the ending of the Fist of the North Star or after it? I am more interested now that it is going old school.

Yeah, I've read this enitre manga up to v24, and seen most of the anime. (To fill in what happens in Volumes 3-7). I would have suggested with other members, we start a pimping project a while ago, except, finding the manga volumes of 3-7 is downright impossible right now.
LOL- Without volumes 3-7 for those who haven't watched the anime, you would be like Wtf, whose this guy?:cry
Any link I could have provided has already been provided.
Also, with regards to IRc, if you want the Anime, Movie, or new Shin Hokuto No Ken anime, go to the Heartofmadness channel, on the Rizon server.
Ps: If you read this message... you're already dead.:amazed :amuse

^ That's true. Also I find the manga is better.
Anyway, Volumes 3-7, are basically near impossible to find, because they were originally licesend. So few groups translated them. I do have a website that is in the mist of doing them, but it is in portugese. I also have the original raw(japanese) "master edition" color ones, but again, it's in japanese.
I heard you can get volume 3-7 off the internet in french though, which I'm fluent in, but I'm to lazy to look.

Oh yeah, I just remember something.
Apparently after the rest of Hokuto No Ken is done By HOM, there going to do volumes 3-7. I think the whole manga is only 27 volumes or so, so the wait isn't to long. Although, it still an etenity.
Final Ultima

Aye, the manga is 27 volumes long. Although, the last three volumes are more of an epilogue than anything, the bulk of the storyline ceased at the end of the Kaioh arc.
Oh, and yeah, the Hokuto no Ken manga >>>infinity+1>>> Hokuto no Ken anime.
I will read this, I like Jojo's bizzare adventure.

Don't know if anyone posted this one so I'll do it, Fist of the North Star(1983-1988) is a manga by Tetsuo Hara.
About Fist of the North Star:
it's set in a post apocalyptic world, where people are trying build civilizan again. The manga stars a man, name Kenshiro, who is the successor to the world most deadly martial arts, Hokuto Shinken, an 1800 assassion style art. His finacce, Yuria, has been kidnapped by his former friend, Shin, one of the practicer of Nanto Seiken, fist of the south star. On the way to finding her Kenshiro meets a boy who's a thief name, Bat, and a orphan girl name Lin. And as the story progresses Kenshiro starts looking for his three brothers of Hokuto Shinken.
It's sort of a cross between Bruce Lee films and Mad Max. The art is very beautiful and the manga is probably the bloodest manga of all time. It's action packed and the story is amazing and the characters are huge. It's my second favorite manga of all time, second to only Dragonball.
you can check out the entire manga at mangavolume.com, my signature is a pic from the series

So I just read up to chapter 30...which episodes of the anime cover volumes 4-7?
I hate skipping ahead but these new scans are apparently quite slow.

I haven't read the manga yet because of the gap in scans but it is taking so long that I might as well fill that gap with the anime...

And the anime is way to old for me to take it seriously :argh
Just skip, go to Wikipedia and fill the gaps in info you have. Beware not to spoil yourself
You also get the idea of what's happening when you do the jump. The plot is quite linear and has no huge twists that early on

Yeah that's what I meant. The anime was so shoddy and censored...also the episodes I found were dubbed which didn't help.
Kind of sucks to start right in the middle of Raoh fighting Kenshiro though. Villain introductions are always cool to see.
You can always watch the movie which covers that portion (though 8 or so volumes in 1 movie would of course leave a lot out, including one major character).
The anime had large amounts of filler up to that Shin fight, and some afterwards though not as much.

Hokuto no Ken is my favorite manga. Too much awesomeness.
I'm reading Souten no Ken right now. It's good but not on the same level.
