Hmm...hard one. The super-powerful and uber popular Cloud with his giant sword, or the demon of Soul Calibur, Nightmare.

Well, I'd have to say Nightmare is the better swordsman. Although, which sword Nightmare has plays a huge factor in it. But I'd still say Nightmare would win.

Well- you say in real-time battle, so I can only picture Cloud from Ehrgeiz. I just knew someone was going to mention that pathetic excuse for a fighting game.

Anyway, Nightmare takes this one easily if we're talking about Cloud from Ehrgeiz and if they're fighting with Soul Calibur's physics (meaning that one kick to the shins won't send you flying 10 meters into the air and land on the other side of the stage).

Cloud would win. Have you seen him fight in Advent Children and stuff? He's amazingly agile and light with that huge sword whee as Nightmare is kinda slow with his moves in Soul Calibur. Not as slow as Astaroth though...

i'd give it to nightmare. he just seems to be the better swordsman. also it depends what sword nightmare is using.

i haven't seen cloud fight in advent children so i can't really comment on that.

I agree with Wolfman. Cloud moves pretty damn fast with that bigass sword in Advent Children.

Like someone said above, if you wanted a fair fight, you should've used Siegfried. Nightmare with soul calibur complete and I know a combo that requires 3 hits to kill most players. 3 hits!

I have a Cervantes 'just frame' combo that hits until the opponents is dead. :smile-big Same with Ivy. :smile-big

Yesterday, I got to 66 wins in standard survival using Mitsurugi and the damascus sword. I was bored so I was hoping I would lose by then.

Damascus sword and Astaroths' thanatos are two of the cheapests weaps in the game.
Next 3 are Cervantes' lethe, The Lightsaber and Queens guard.

But Damascus sword is the cheapest weap. Once you get down parrying, actually even if they hit you it absorbs so much damage:)

Taki! She must be like 5'2 and like 110 pounds.
Cloud takes out Sephiroth and in Advent Children he looks amazing with a sword.
So Cloud for me.

The original FFVII makes it more difficult to judge, he's either standing still for long periods of time, or slashing at his opponents with insane speed. Inconsistency at it's finest.

I also won a lot of tourneys in SCII, but the game isn't popular anymore, so noone plays it. Now i'm playing MvC2 tourneys and Tekken 5.

Back in the SCII days I used to play:
1. Ivy (i use cs and ss like a regular throw, jf infinite is harder than cervys)
2. Taki (PoRC mind rapes opponent)
3. Cassandra (several good traps)
4. Nightmare (good block traps, good guard crush soul charges)
5. Astaroth (poisedon tide and 6,6 B = pwnage)

And cloud has megalizers, beyotches! Cause they are items, not magic! And what if he has 7777 hit points? He goes crazy and hits then enemy over 50 times for 7777 damage! Nightmare be pwned, yo!

With out a doubt ive loved cloud for the longest time! The boy is light on his toes, especially when carrying THAT much metal. However, when i played nightmare in SC2, my vote for massive sword carrying psycho paths had to change. Nightmare comes to the table with the same sized sword yes, but the aggressor in nightmare goes well beyond madness. and dont compare it to a movie like advent children. cuz we all know that if nightmare got turned lose in some beautiful anime like advent children. . . devine intervention wouldnt save that poor soul from nightmare comin after him/her, and we'd be inexplicably amazed all over again. now in reference to the whole 7777 hit points that cloud has..you cant base it on hit points. you need to base is on %'s ....cuz its not like one or the other is gonna ahve more hit points then the other in the beginning. now before we all get outta hand with what im saying. i still love cloud. and always will. . .the boy is a legend for cryin out loud! and we all loved how that boy could manhandle everyone he came across. However, when you cross swords with nightmare, its gonna most definately change! nightmare is as deadly, if not more deadly then cloud, for more then one reason. First and formost, nightmare is a better swordsman then cloud, and simple swinging of the sword with might will not always do the trick. Second nightmare is completely in tune with his sword (and i dont mean by dumping some super juice into it for an attack like cloud), and swings it like a poet writing music. everytime he stops hes ready for the next verse. And finally, we get down to the in close combat with feet, hands, blocking, regardless of weapon....Nightmare is comin out on top. im sorry ol boy...but..."THIS IS THE END!"
