But does anyone know when new anime will be released? I was told it could take a couple of years, just like the breaks between the TV series and the OVA's..
Anyway, I really like the plot and characters. Anyone else watches this anime?

Hunter X Hunter is just awesome! One of the greatest ever! The characters are all very cute and adorable and just make you like them :) I hope the OVA 4 series will be released in the next couple of months cause I really wanna see the things in the manga! All the GI OVAs have been completed. The last GI Final episode came out not too long ago. there is no more HxH after the GI Final series which is the 3rd OVA series

Yup, he's shirtless with chains on one of the manga volumn covers.

My favourite character is 'Hisoka', followed by Irumi who doesn't get much screentime.

And love the intro scenes, but I only like the TV series up to the end of the first OVA (in other words, before G.I starts).

I liked Hisoka from the beginning, I wonder what was the reason for the change of hair colour though, I thought he looked more interesting with that teal green hair than the red.

His fight with Kuropika in the Hunter Exam was awesome too.

True alot of characters in HxH are very interesting, especially those from Ryodan. Pity Togashi reveals a teeny bit of each and sort of just...leaves it at that.

I re-watched OVA1 the other night and I must say I've got to add Paku as another one of my favourites.

Takehashi Junko is really talented (seiyuu for Naruto/Gon), and was mostly what lead me to get excited about the anime went it was first announced to come out because I heard that she was voice acting Naruto. And the anime in turn was what really got me _into_ Naruto; before when just reading the manga it was just a time killer.

Hunter X Hunter was the source of all my anime/manga fanaticisms, a few years ago I saw it on TV in Taiwan and then I got hooked. Went out and rented all the eps and watched them all in like 3 days (which is crazy because it meant I spent about 10 hours or more watching it per day). Killua is my favourite character, he's so cute but sooooo evil.

I have a bunch of HxH goodies, I was in Taiwan when HunterXHunter was at it's prime. Meaning HxH _everywhere_.

It's too bad Togashi-sensei's health is declining and leading to lower quality drawings for Jump. It leads people to believe that it's the same in the printed book (which it's not, the manga books are just as nice as before; he either re-draws them or add in more stuff) and less and less people are buying it.

The bug arc happening right now is a little weird though, I must admit.

As for the shirtless scenes, there's at least one for every leading character. Off the top of my head, I can think of Killua, Kurapica, Gon, Leorio, and Hisoka shirtless (and a Hisoka full body nude; whoa there).

I think HxH lost it's style a little... I mean, the part where the gang went to killua's house, all the mystery and stuff, that was just so cool! But when i saw the greed island ova's i just missed something.. it started looking like a anime for 8 year old kids all of a sudden... I hope it gets better after this :)

I was quite disappointed with Leorio's character. I was expecting him to be very "useful" in the series.

He only fought a few times (I think 2 or 3 times...). I also thought that he's very skill with his dagger.

Too bad, it turned out that the oldest member of the 4-man team in HXH is the most useless.

Though the conclusion to battle between Gon and Gensuru was a little short than I expected it to be, but nevertheless, it was great!

The ending, as I expected, was a open-ended. Still, it was satisfying to see... :)

You can get it on irc. Anime-kissaten has a channel on irc.efnet.net which has a xdcc bot that is fast and usually sends right away. Though it only has episodes 1 - 32 or 33. Anime-faith on chatspike has all of GI i think though.

Just a warning, this hole seriers goes fubar in the manga after the GI part.
I'm guessing that some of the people working with the manga wasnt happy with the upcoming story so thats why they quit. The quality in the drawings it really awful after GI.
I for one didnt like it and wished I hadnt read the manga after I've seen the anime.

They made afew OVAs. The last episode of the OVA was just released a few months ago. So there's nothing saying they won't make more since the manga is doing very very well and I heard the OVA sales were good.

The anime is based on the manga. They had animated all the manga. So they stopped. The manga is still being made though so they will probably start animating again. It is a popular series. I am just glad they did not make filler episodes.

Well the NGL arc is already longer than GI I believe. Or at least the section of GI final, it's been going on for about 60 chapters. So they can make an OVA and a 26 episode series without filler(assuming there's no break in the manga).

There should be a new OVA this summer to continue the story. The end of GI was kinda abrupt and left plenty of room for a new OVA.

Oh and in the beginning, HxH didn't do so well but after a year or two it picked up. By that time the company decided to just make OVA's to reduce cost and time on production.

There's 3 OVAs. OVA 1, and Greed Island OVA have 8 episodes each. Greed Island Final has 14 episodes.

You can get the manga from nexgear.com. Or at least thier irc channel #nexgear on irc.irchighway.net though they have download links on thier forums last time I checked. Toriyamaworld.com also has the first few volumes and are quite good in quality.

Chapter 275 or 285. Also be warned... download nexgear v2 releases, the one in volumes instead of the stand alone chapters until you read the latest scanslated volumes then theres about 5 chatpers or so of bad art... but it gets better and so does the story.

Well when I first heard of this series, I read some good things about it. I downloaded it, but the beginning wasn't exciting. I kept at it for around 30 episodes, that's when it got interesting. If it wasn't for the hype for it, I think I would have dropped it.

I haven't seen all of it yet, but so far (about 25 episodes) I think it's quite silly. It's more like a <10 year old anime. There is nothing impressive about it at all, Gon, the main character, uses a fishing rod as a weapon and that kind of stuff. It's nothing about it that makes it particularly unique. The first 25 epsisodes have been quite alot like the Chuunin exam in Naruto (If you've seen Naruto).

Overall, a quite dull anime. But that's just my opinion. :P

Definitely worth watching, one of the best shonen animes IMO(or rather manga). Only place I know where to get it is animesuki.com or boxtorrents.com.

I personally thought the hunter exam part alone was much better than Naruto's best... and well the Ryodan arc can't be matched it...

Hunter X Hunter is nothing but 'dull'... i can understand why people won't like it(say they don't like shonens or whatever) but it's very...undull....

It wans't cancelled. As far as I know it wasn't. If you go by popularity the manga is one of the more popular ones and I believe more so than Naruto running in the Jump, the OVAs sell extremely well and they are also going to work on another season or ova some time soon. I also don't get how it can be cancelled there if it was nearing hte manga, reason for switching to the OVA ainstead of just making filler. Well I haven't heard anything about it being cancelled but it is possible the anime wasn't popular at first.

Its kinda mixed up, after thoose the shows continues on OVA format.
First 8Eps that kinda finish the story from the series, then another 8eps that begins a new one and then 14 more eps that finish that story.
So:
62Ep series
8Ep OVA1
8Ep OVA2
14Ep OVA3.

I just finished watching the series and I didn't like the ending too much because there was so many things unsolved. Such as the spiders, and Gon's dad. The whole plot was Gon meeting his dad and it showed less than 10 seconds of them meeting. Im hoping there is an continuation but I doubt it. I seriously doubt it's over.

They just need the manga to get further ahead (though it's 60-70 chapters ahead of where the anime left off which is enough for 30 moderate filler episodes, can easily make a 26 episode TV season). And well I heard the last OVA did quite well and well the manga of course does very well so there's no reason to contninue what they have been doing in the past and aevery a new OVA every so and so.

^yeah, HxH needs to get more ahead. I really hope it doesn't end there although the spiders arc IMO was the climax of thier story. But I think thier gonna redo it once it gets ahead by alot cuz I don't like the manga much. I think the anime has better artwork than the manga.

If they make another arc like the spiders I would buy the anime. The spider arc was incredible, freaking forced me to stay up all night to find out the conclusion of spider arc. That arc IMO owned Naruto's plotline, only if the whole show was as good as the spider arc though =P. Afterwards it's not that good.

Yes, I agree with you on that but after after the hunter exam is when it gets better. The ovas are really cool if you give it a chance. I recommend you continuing watching it if you have free time.

I think chapter 175 should be where it ends. It might be 185.

You can tell who it is if you compare a certain accessory shape and possibly even color(not sure if it is changed) of something seen before in the series...

i started reading the manga...Code you were right its chapter 185.
when i heard that the art work of the manga was "lazy" i didnt know what that means but after reading 1 chapter its all too clear....it looks like fan art, i couldnt believe thats the real manga. but thats ok cuz its kind of cute and im reading it for the plot until the next OVA comes out.
btw when did the last OVA come out and are there any news on when the nxet one will come out?

i dled a volume and i noticed the improvment but it sound wierd...
the mangaka fixed his work because ppl disliked his art work?
(its more the lack of ditails and background that makes the art work look lazy)

and i wanted to ask am I the only one that didnt understand some of the battles of the spiders?

Well it's possible. They've released OVAs in the past (3 so far) so I don't see why not continue. Though the current arc has yet to be finished so I don't think it's going to be before that.

One of the best shows out there... I loved this anime almost as much as Naruto. After I saw Naruto and FMA I didn't belive there would be any shows that I will like as much untill I saw HxH. It surpasses FMA 5x times in being awesome! And it's almost as good as Naruto(Naruto is the best show I have ever seen!!!) The characters are so awesome!

Its a real shame they didnt continue HxH. It was one of my favorite animes all time. The only part I didnt like about Hxh was GI final because of the new style and animation but the rest was A+. Hope they will continue it someday.

Yeah I agree. I liked the fact that they were "inside of a game". It was a really awesome idea but it's sad that they messed it up. They should've of had putted more effort in it, in the details and so on. Tho, I was told that the writer/animator(?) was sick during the last episodes, or something like that.
