Plot Summary
Originally an adult video game by Lump of Sugar.

The story centers on Yūri Mito, a student at the Sōsei Academy and the only son of the man who runs the Yachimata shrine. At Yachimata, there is a legend of a deity named Tayutayu-sama who protected the area, but this deity and other so-called "Tayutai" have been lost in time. Mito and his friends discover a relic on the school grounds with mysterious patterns on them. Then, at the opening ceremony of the new school year, an equally mysterious girl named Mashiro appears before Mito. Mashiro is somehow tied to the relic and the legend of Tayutayu-sama.

Nah I've been watching it all from the beggining but at first I thought it would be some kind of story similar to Kannagi: Crazy Shrine Maidens.

Im always up for another supernatural-harem anime.

Though to be honest, the girl's designs dont look all that origional or inspired(in relation to eachother, or on their own)

Take inukami, for example. Each of the girls' designs were unique and fitting for their personality / characters.

But if the plot is decent and there is some good humor or action to the story, then i cant really complain.

So i'll check this out

Not to bad. As stated, seems to be your typical supernatural harem / girlfriend series (which isnt a problem for me)

All the main elements seem to be in place. Father who egg's his son on to "be a stud" with the new girl in his life. Jealous female friend who (apparently) has never shown any romantic interest in the main character up until now.. magical / supernatural girl who suddenly pushes herself into the main char's life and decides to marry him, ect.

Had a good laugh at the line "just how far did you get in one night?!" line.

Isnt the VA who plays the father the same guy who does the voice for the chief of the shensingumi in gintama? His way of drawing out certain words sounds exactly alike

I'm a huge fan of the VA for Yuuri's father (Norio Wakamato), probably because I'm used to him playing the narrator on Hayate no Gotoku and Charles Di Britannia from Code Geass :lmao

And based on his bio he does play Matsudaira from Gintama, which I assume is the chief you're talking about :zaru

I'm getting 12-13 episodes from most sites which seems kinda short for this type of series. Perhaps it's setting itself up for possible multiple seasons?

Hmm.. well its possible. Usually with series that are intended from the get-go to only be 12 eps, we get very little in the terms of backstory or character development, and more of "ok 1 or 2 eps introduces the main characters.. the rest are devoted to the story" type of thing.

So far, aside from the "big 3" being released, we've seen very little in regards to the main story, and more of an emphasis in mari's introduction to the human world and the "relationship circle" of the main and secondary characters.

So, given that, i say its a good chance that we'll prob see a 2nd season, or that this will turn into a 24+ ep series.

Edit : Having watched thru ep 4, i revise my earliest estimate. If they "defeated" one of the big 3 so soon, then its prob only going to be a 12-ish episode series.

Dont see how they'd stretch it into 24, unless the last of the 3 is uber strong, takes multiple episodes to defeat him / her, and they add in some filler to finish things out.

So far, the story hasnt been very origional. Kind of predictable, sadly.

Im guessing the phoenix will "bond" with yuuri's step-sister, seeing as how the dragon is now involved with ameri, yuuri has his (cat? fox?) fiance / partner, and nue has become a little-sister figure to miffy.

Ameri dosnt seem very accepting of yuuri's choice, does she? Ya snooze, ya loose kiddo :zaru (though her jealousy and such were also predictable)

Wonder how deeply dragon is going to take advantage of this rift

This series is totally off to me.

It doesen't seem to be able to decide if it's going to be serious or comedic, now you can pull it off whiplashing between the two, but this series doesn't. The awful character designs doesen't help either.

This is also something im unhappy with. The characters dont really stand out from eachother in looks or personality. (personality difference wise, they are in slightly better shape then physical character design, but not by much)

The ONLY thing we've learned about one of the main characters is that yuuri has a thing for all things bike. Thats it. Nothing about ameri or the 2ndary male character (their mutual friend.. cant recall his name at the moment) nothing on miffy or yuuri's step sis.

This is why, so far, inukami has been my favoriate supernatural gf/harem action comedy. All of the ladies were distinct, in personality and appearance.

And even though there wasnt a whole lot of substance to the story, at least it was decently origional in how it presented its bad guys and challenges for the main characters.

The first challenge the main character had to face was a bunch of near-naked martial-arts guys who thought they were dogs and slobbering all over him :laugh (not to mention the subsequent antogonist who shot male-only nudity lasers out of his nipples and dick)


I'll still finish this anime out and prob archive it, but so far its been rather "meh" to me, though it beats not having any new anime to watch, period.

So, the whole deal with Yuuri glowing randomly last episode had to do with his powers fully awakening to the same level of Kagehara?

And I thought that Yuuri was the oblivious type but this episode showed he's in straight up denial and I agree he was putting Mashiro in a tough spot by bringing her along when it was obvious that she only wanted to see Yuuri :facepalm

It actually hurt to watch him so easily screw things up more and more with Ameri these past 2 episodes and I was starting to believe he's more stupid than oblivious.

In his defense though, Ameri does make things confusing for him. One moment shes upset at him for spending so much time with Mashiro instead of her and the next she spends all day trying to get Mashiro and him to bond and even jokes about them having kids. So I guess she's equally at fault.

I won't put the blame entirely on Yuuri, but he's a major contributor. Yuuri and Ameri's friend was easily able to sense that Ameri was forcing herself to be friendly with Yuuri and Mashiro.

I would have given Yuuri a little bit of credit if he was just clueless. At least if that was the case, I would have placed more blame on Ameri since her actions were quite contradictory and nothing short of being frank with Yuuri would have worked. However, Yuuri could sense something was going on and chose to ignore it, probably hoping it would solve itself on it's own.

I dont know.. i havnt watched the latest ep, but everything i saw in the first cple made it seem like ameri didnt really try all that much (if at all) to progress her relationship with yuuri past the good friend stage. It was only after mashi showed up and bonded with yuuri (and his promise to marry her in the future) that she started acting jealous and possesive.

Its as i said earlier, you snooze you loose. Its her fault for not making her feelings known for him before this whole thing started.

There's nothing wrong with Yuuri not returning Ameri'c feeling. You like who you like but after knowing that Ameri likes him and still putting Mashiro in a difficult situation like he did last episode, it was a horrible thing to do to Mashiro (I'm not even talking about Ameri). So, instead of having Ameri hurt which was brought on by herself, he ends up hurting Mashiro.

Mashiro got right down to the heart of the matter with Ameri. After all, it was Ameri who failed to tell Yuuri her feelings, so it's not really Mashiro's fault.

As for Ouryuu, I knew there had to be some reason behind his hatred, and he was screwed by humans at some point which fostered that hatred. Well, I guess the climatic battle comes to an end next week :zaru

Not a conclusion I was expecting for the whole Ouryuu conflict but I suppose it makes sense with the main goal Mashiro and Yuuri were trying to achieve.

The drama and humor in this series were pretty average most times than not. I don't feel like they constantly threw fanservice at us, which is a good thing, and my only other complaint is the character designs which could have improved the series for me a whole lot more.

It's a shame that they couldn't help Mashiro continue to live after the whole ordeal but at least they got to go through the marriage ceremony.

Anyone know what was the deal with the scene after the credits?

Sure, Yuuri saved Mashito's life but there was a possibility she wouldn't wake up for hundred's of years. His wedding vow was pretty cool, in the fact that he swore that Mashiro will be his one and only wife even beyond death.

I give Yuuri credit for his faithfulness and love for Mashiro but I couldn't wait that long :apathy

The ending did show what looks to be Yuuri with Mashiro, but that can't have been anytime soon. I mean the buildings in the background look like freaking ruins :S

I have the Hentai game but I cannot play it :( if so the Mashiro ending would be much different (and more fun of course <3 )

Yuuri is a true man! a TRUE AMERICAN! (if he was one), he waited for his one and only! (I mean shes a god, who would't?). I think the very end was infact both of them way in the future. I would like more clouser but it appears thats all we are going to get.

Maybe it was yuuri's spirit? I mean Mashiro is a god after all I'm sure she could have done something after he died.

Is it possible that Yurii lived for hundreds of years because of all that energy or is it simply a reincarnation of him? Which would suck because that's not the same person.

Or maybe the whole city was flooded in the next...let's say 20years? :laugh

The fights were interesting parts. The first one was okay but ended in about a minute or so, the fight with the birds was somewhat silly, while the last one was just lame :laugh I know it's a light-hearted anime about World Peace but come on! They talked down the giant dragon from devouring the city with what? A scolding from Emori and with that he instantly became a member of the Good Guy Club? It took at least five minutes of blabing to knock some sense into Emori but they couldn't even tell us why the dragon-guy was so pissed? :(

Anyway, it wasn't a bad series but the moé-level seriously dropped after the first few episodes and so did the number of jokes :notrust Instead WAY too much time was wasted on Emori being a stupid brat :cry
