Is Celestial Being ever gonna roll this thing out? I know that it's GN drive is currently being used by 00 but still, I refuse to believe that they don't have a spare one lying around. And It's not like there short on pilots. They never even explained the situation that happened between 0 Gundam and Setsuna in S1E01. I'm a big Gundam fan & I really like Gundam 00 but I'm forced to agree w/Raging Boner on his point that 00 Gundam is a cock tease.
What do you guys think?

No, because they don't have a spare GN Drive.
I refuse to believe that they don't have a spare one lying around.
It's been stated over and over again how there are only have 5 REAL GN Drives. If they actually had 1 more, it would have been used to power up the Ptolemy, or the other Gundams from the other groups in CB, featured in the sidestory manga's.
They never even explained the situation that happened between 0 Gundam and Setsuna in S1E01.
Not yet, but I'm sure they will, given the hint in the ED.
Leak from the official 00 novelization:
O Gundam's pilot is an artificial human. Looks like a boy. Hates his reason for existing and considers his existence contradictory. Thinks humans are stupid.
He's linked with all information on Earth as well as in space (elevator and colonies), and knows of all of the plan information up to level 7.
He gets both the Gundams and Veda and decides to fix the "contradictory" world.
His mission in Kurdis was to kill everyone. Setsuna only lived because when he saw Setsuna look at him as if he were looking upon a god, he decided, he let him go on a whim.
He found his reason for existing in Setsuna's eyes, and considers himself to be something above humans.

0 Gundam would suck as of now.
The thing was highly unstable(Thus the mass amount of GN Particles it released. Enough so to create "Wings of Light"). It probably could be crapped before the first generation of GN-X's, nevermind the 3rd generation of Gundams, GN-X's, and other suits. The GNZ series(The Gadessa and Garazzo), and the GNW series(Arche Gundam and Throne Gundam variations).
Besides that, it's confirmed that the extra head on the back of Seravee belongs to 0 Gundam. Tieria had it put there, to remind him of his duty to carry out Celestial Being's plan(And I'm sure there is more to it, and a good chance that Seravee is housing another Mobile suit just like the Virtue and Nadleeh relationship last season).

1) No, they don't have spare GN Drives. All 5 are being used right now in the current-gen Gundams. Before the 00 was rolled out, the fifth GN Drive was being used by an offshoot of Celestial Being to pull a few jobs here and there behind-the-scenes in the spinoff manga, 00F. There are only five 'real' GN Drives, and there will not be any more rolled out unless Ribbons has something insane up his sleeve, seeing how it's essentially stated to take decades for them to be made.
2) No, the 0 Gundam will never be used, at least not unless Celestial Being is insanely hurting for manpower. The unit is literally the first Generation GN mobile suit, and the 'wings of light' we saw in the opening of 00's first half has since been established as required to keep the suit afloat in the air. The hemorrhaging of GN-Particles isn't some fancy wings-of-light - it's a horribly-designed mobile suit that can barely make use of it's power source.
3) No, the head in the back of the Seravee is not the head of the 0 Gundam. All four of the Next-Gen Gundams were finished completely in the preview aired in episode 25 of 00's first half - and we saw that the 0 Gundam was still perfectly intact without problems at all. The head is most likely just a random Gundam head at the moment - and it's unlikely such a retcon will be made, because the head is of a completely different design than that of the 0 Gundam's.

As we can see here, the design of the 'head' on the back of the Seravee is at least three times as large as the head of the Seravee itself, which means it can't be the head of the 0 Gundam. The 0 Gundam was the same size as the other Gundams made for this era - around 20 meters high.
And they've already gone into a fair amount of detail on the 0 Gundam.
Just not in the anime.
Things we know:
http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e240/NewtypeS3/Gundam%20Fun/0-000.jpg
-It's not a fully-functioning unit, thanks to the fact that it could barely use the GN-Drive at all. Yet the 0 Gundam was still able to float in the air and shoot things. But not much more than that, because the 'wings' was the drive at 100% keeping the unit barely afloat.
-Its only weaponry were a pair of beam sabers and a beam pistol - though it's unknown if the sabers could actually be used. It also had a crappy shield.
-The design in general is a 'nod' to the original RX-78-2 from the first Gundam series, albeit in a gray-and-white color scheme.
-The pilot of the 0 Gundam was most likely Ribbons - suggested in materials released on the 0 Gundam near the end of the first half of the series. It's suggested that Setsuna's near-worship of the unit when it showed up made Ribbons think he was a God and put a lot of his plans into motion - or at least finally made Ribbons think about it.
-The 0 Gundam's GN-Drive was used by a Celestial Being offshoot in units like the Gundams Astrea (an Exia prototype colored red and wearing a mask of some sort), Sadalsuud (a Dynames prototype colored blue and wearing a mask as well), Abulhool (Kyrios prototype, with no MS mode) and Plutone (a Nadleeh Prototype... with a Core Fighter) in the sidestory manga 00F. It was swapped around between the different units, and was eventually installed into the 00 Gundam.
Other than that... that's about it.

Wish I had the link. I save everything Gundam 00, and one time I slip :mad
I do remember reading that it was the same head as the 0 Gundams. Alright, I'll just unforget it >_<

Well, it's certainly the same general design when deployed, but it's not the same head. If I mis-interpreted what you said, I do apologize.

Seravee was doing the time trials for the last part in ep 25 in season 1 if i am not wrong since it was the only unit that was ready at that point of time. And Nena was looking at O gundam onboard her ship.. so O gundam being part of seravee doesn't sound possible to me.:)

You mean the one Saji saw? That could possibly be the Exia.

From that novelization is sounds like Ribbons was the pilot.
edit : lol, should have read the posts above

I think the 0 Gundam did serve it's purpose; being the first generation Gundam and resembling the RX-78 just as a bit of fanservice. Who knows how it would perform now, assuming it got it's GN drive back.

Considering it's been stated that the 0 Gundam was barely functional (ie, could only use a beam pistol and the Wings of Light were a side-effect of the GN-Drive being maxed out just to let the damned thing float), we already know how well it would perform.
It would die faster than Exia did against the A-Laws suits.

I still cry for Exia. :cry
Though I still wonder how the heck Setsuna managed to repair it to that level. Has that been explained in a side story?

Nope, not explained.
It's been about 4 years, though, so it's not shocking that Setsuna could get it repaired to some level. He's obviously no mechanic, so it explains the disrepair the Exia's in.
