A Few Questions about types of files for AMVs

Ok, so I have a few questions. It would really be awesome if anyone helps me. :nod

-What is the recommended program to make videos?
-Can you make videos from rmvb files?
-If not, then which type of formatted files?
-Again, if not, how do you convert it?

Use windows movie maker, rmvb you can't use try wmv or avi, convert it using any converter program which can be found via google.
