i did great game. the last mission was rather easy, but the mission before it was pretty intense. especially when u going against the guy that kept talkin shit the whole time.

i would give it fisher, if the lights are off, Fisher is much better in the dark than Snake is. and now he has terrorists experience as well considering the fouth Splinter Cell has him as a double agent. lets see snake do that.

don't really know about Fisher's CQC considering he is better at stealth than snake. look at the games, you can run through metal gear without being stealth, yet splinter cell forces you to actually be a ███. spies are excellent CQC specialist but they are not looking to do it because it will take away the point of being sneaky.

All I have to say to that is, lets see Fisher take down a 70ft. Bipedal Robot with a rail gun and some nuclear weapons. And as far as Fisher being better in the dark, how would we know since we almost never see snake in the dark. I'd say snake does a pretty good job sneaking around during the shadow moses incident. Furthermore, I don't see Fisher messing up pissed off 9ft. Native Americans carrying around aircraft vulcans, or angry Russians with telekinesis. Snake was designed to be the best Spec-Operative.

This is a stealth battle, whether or not someone can take down a giant robot w/railguns and nukes is irrelevant. For the purposes of the matchup they are both considered standard issue humans, meaning if the bullet hits the squish, your dead. The victor is going to be the one that sees the other first.

Sam fishers little forehead light is for the benefit of the player so he can see himself. If you played the multiplayer you would know that the other guy can't see that. Sam fisher has supirior multiple visual modes and can most likely track snake better as he has a better set of tools and teamates who are worth a damn. Going further along with that sam has weapons that can one shot snake.

I have to say that fisher is way better at stealth than snake, given his more methodical and patient modus operandi. He has things that disable lights he has snake cameras and launchable camera that have toxins in them.

Fisher by a mile.

If there's no limiting factors the point is stupid, its like who would win Superman vs John Wayne. They come from different universes with different rules. Fisher's universe is completely realistic and could actually be possible, Whereas Snake lives in a universe of 70ft tall nuclear powered robots?

The only way to get a decent battle out of them is if they are both limited to modern physics and weaponry in a contest of stealth. And if then, Fisher has it easily. Fisher was able to sneak in undetected to the lowest levels of the Japanese military HQ (like the Pentagon) without the need to kill anybody. Not to mention snuck into a fully manned and operational North Korean military base.

Where's the part that's unrealistic? Is it things that are 70ft. tall? Is it the robot? Or could it be the Nuclear power that you think is unrealistic. Given that these games take place in the near future, and given that all three of the essential technologies exist, I'd say that 70ft tall nuclear powered robots aren't that unrealistic. Sure they don't yet exist in that form, but it doesn't mean they can't in the near future. It just means no one has tried.

Bottom line: given that snake is an enhanced human via Les Enfants Terribles, he has an edge over the mere mortal Sam Fisher. The fact that Snake took down a metal gear was brought up simply to illustrate his advantage over Fisher, who other than being a sneaky bastard, is just your average human being. To take away snake's advantages like you're suggesting, would be the same as taking away Fisher's advantages in stealth. Furthermore, to say Fisher is a better stealth agent is unsubstantiated because in the end, stealth was the goal of Splinter Cell, and Action was the goal of MGS. Snake does a pretty damn good job of sneaking around a compound that is populated with otherwise superhuman soldiers (including a psychic) and droves of regulars as well. When it comes down to it, Snake's mission was not to sneak, but to eliminate FOXHOUND, and thus he was forced to make himself known at some point.

agreed. but i think sam fischer would put up a good fight. It'd be close but, when it comes down to it, id have to give it to snake.

addition : wasent snake also part of a genetic experiment to create a superspy? if thats true ( which im not sure as my memory of playing the game a few years back is a little fuzzy ) then surely he'd have the leg up.

Unfair battles are created in the OBD all the time, and if there have been made no limiting conditions in the first post, that's just how it is.

You can rant on and on about it being unfair, but if you change the circumstances of the battle (Snake is not an enhanced human, any longer) it doesn't belong in this thread.

Yes! That's the point. That's why its absurd for anyone who's played both game series to claim that Fisher would beat Snake. It's not happening. Snake is a Super Soldier, Sam Fisher is not. That's actually the point of the battledome. To use the John Wayne v Superman example: If someone actually posted that as a battle, you wouldn't say "Oh well Superman would lose because if it was fair, then John Wayne would shoot Superman and Superman would die. It's unfair that he has super powers, so let's take them away for this fight."

If that were the case, then John Wayne wouldn't be battling Superman. John Wayne would be battling man...man.... :P

Save that as super soldiers go snake blows. He is not really all that much of a supersoldier. A slightly above average soldier and an average ███.

Fisher has the advantage of this being a stealth battle a mode that he is uniquely suited to both use and detect. There is no point in mentioning any of snakes other attributes because they don't help him in the least if fisher puts a round in the squish.

There is not much point to being a supersoldier if your not all that super. Given that Sam Fisher actually does certain things much better than snake I have to say that he really isn't much of a super soldier.

Spartans=Supersoldiers
Captain America=Supersoldier
JC Denton=Supersoldier
Snake=Really Good Human
47= Really Good Human

I honestly don't see why this is such a sticking point. Super soldiers that are not more durable than humans, can't move significantly faster than humans, whose only real redeeming special abilty is to eat small animals for health, and who have an arsenal that is for the most part composed of a pistol that is just that are not "supersoldiers". They occupy that wonderful limbo somewhere above human but not superhuman. Take batman, he is not a supersoldier but do you expect snake to beat him?

This is a stealth battle and of the two fisher is the better stealther, and since there is nothing to some this from being a 1 shot 1 kill situation I fail to see how Snakes "not quite a supersoldier" status saves him.

Snake was not only bred to be a perfect soldier, he's also beaten supernatural fighters, including:

Vamp - Runs on water, unkillable even via a bullet to the head, can pin your shadow with a knife
Fortune - Besides her projectile-deflecting belt, she also had the ability to defy probability itself
Revolver Ocelot - He could do things with bullets that defy physics completely
Psycho Mantis - Psychic strong enough to destroy his entire village of 1000 people when his power first manifested
Vulcan Raven - Strong enough to handle the weight and recoil of a vulcan cannon

Also, Snake has boned Meryl (who was young enough to be his daughter). WIN.

C'mon, Vamp fought Raiden, and Fortune aperently defeated Snake, or something!

Snake though, has been able to fight down gigantic mechs, and attacked an Metal Gear Ray barehandeded (When Liquid Ocelot runs away in the end of MGS2, Snake pursuits unarmed, what the hell was he thinking?)

PS, Meryl wasn't old enough to be his daugher, I think. Snake was in his what, thirthies in MGS2? But he could be old enough to be his father, fysicallly, becouse his fast aging^^

Anyway, Snake is a lot more badass compared to Fisher, and a probably a bit more smarter (160-180 IQ). He takes this fairly easy. Fisher depends too much on his gadgets.

Raiden versus Fisher would be a better matchup.

One reason Snake wins. Because Fisher can fail his missions without lasting reprecussions. If Snake fails usually it's means the end of the world. Also because Snake gets in more direct firefights then Fisher. Sam often has to knock people out or kill them silently. Snake does get into more firefights to complete his objective. Only recently in Splinter Cell Double agent has he gotten into major firefights. I'm giving this one to Snake.

Snake wins this one. Fisher fights NORMAL people, while Snake has to deal with the freaks they have for soldiers.... And several gigant robots.
