Anyone else think they're the must underrated/misunderstood best band ever?
Catch Thirty-Three was really good. But Destroy Erase Improve was a bit dissapointing, however it had enough great songs in it to beat the bad ones, Soul Burn was superb, as was Acrid Placidity. However their finest record is most definiatly I. quite possibly my most fav EP of all time.

*Gasp* Destroy Erase Improve DISAPPOINTING ?!! Are you fucking nuts?! Moe, you should be ashamed!
Anyway, I'm about the biggest Meshuggah fan you'll ever meet.

I've never even heard of them. Pimpage? :oh
;_;
Okay, it wasnt really dissapointing XD. but I still skipped through some tracks like Termainal Illiusion (though the intro was :cool), Plus the Intro track wasnt as good in comparison to the rest of the record.
Though I still say if the record consisted of only Soul Burn, Acrid Placidity, Vanished & Inside What's Within Behind, I'd still buy it :P

Moe, noooooooooo!!! Future Breed Machine, the intro track if you will, is one the best Meshuggah songs ever!
You're right though, Terminal Illusions sucks, particularly the lyrical content becuase it was written by the vocalist who normally doesn't write the lyrics.
Chaosphere is their best album in my opinion.
Jkingler - I'll pimp you some Meshuggah, as I own all their albums.
The intro for Future Head /Machine was brilliant. The pounding offbeat guitar riff backed by that odd drum machine(the double bass is love) but it quiclky transfered to noise. It was just a bit unbalanced for me I guess :amuse
In any case, Meshuggah totally rock. Their odd ime signiatures, just wicked.
Can you pm me the links too please? I lost all there albums while moving along with a dozen of records -_-

Oh no, that's no drum machine buddy. Tomas Haake is just the tightest drummer alive. Only on the last two albums have they sampled his drums.
It wasnt a drum machine ? :amazed
Wow, just wow.

Yeah, Tomas Haake is just the most bad ass drummer alive. Anyone who can play in those odd signatures commands a John Holmes level respect.

Our transfer died, Senor Colon :P
You say he is the best drummer alive...so he is even better at double bass than the guy from Thrice, I assume...I must hear it! :crying

No drummer alive has anything on Tomas.

Heavy metal?
Yeah, the heaviest there is. No one comes close really. Glad to see other people like them, but yeah I see how why you say D.E.I is a disappointment. Meshuggah themselves have admitted to not liking it, calling it an album full of off time 80's riffs ;p. My personal favorite is chaosphere, with catch 33 as a CLOSE CLOSE second.

There definately a cool band. Really far out and they have a very original sound. Its not something you can jump right into though. Very acquired taste.

It's difficult to be heavier than a band that plays 8 string guitars.

Yeah
We are worthy of worship aren't we?
Anyhoo, despite not being a huge fan, I would love to see them live (if it was with Dillinger Escape Plan I'd be complete) just to watch their technical mastery.

I'm a somewhat Meshuggah fan!! Just say rock on to the rest of u. Fav. Mesh album is "Destroy" \m/ !! "Contradiction" and "Chaosphere" is great also! (hell!! They all are!!)
Check out my band on my sign's link. The only rewiev we have had tells we are greatly inspired by meshuggah. I don't think we're too like. Check it out and judge for yourself.

*BUMP*, again.
Just got Catch 33. I think it might surpass I as my favorite. Might.. I'll have to give it a couple more listens.
"In Death is Death" left me breathless. o_O That reverb stuff in the beginning had me going "wtf", and that speech with the wierd effect was so.. out of place, but at the same time, it fit perfectly. I can't really explain it well at the moment.
Yeah. That's all I got.
