As you may know, Rage Against The Machine was a really good band but they dumped there main singer and picked up the new guy and called themselves Audioslave, which they are now. I think Audioslave could be better than Rage. Rage was all about getting pumped up, most of the time. Audio slips to a different style which I like, and the videos are great too. :smile-big

No competition. Rage Against the Machine own on the travesty that is Audioslave.
Sorry, but Chris Cornell does not mesh well with them, the whole things sounds too disjointed and cobbled together.
Rage were a band in truth and they blended.

Rage obviously! I liked de la Rocha's vocals a lot, even if I usually dont like the rap/hip-hop style

I didn't mind Soundgarden and I loved Rage, BUT Audioslave is like they took those two completely different sounds and tried to cram them together.
Thus. They suck.
More so considering with the amount of talent in that band they should have been able to do something groundbreaking.
They didn't :)

My friend tried to put me on to Audio slave... but i just didnt like it. But Rage is a legendary band like my all time favorites, Pearl Jam & RedHotChilliPeppers.

Rage was much better than Audioslave is now. There are two reasons:
1) Zack De La Rocha was the soul of Rage, where as Chris Cornell is a mere add on to a good band
2) Rage's songs had fire, Audioslave's songs seem tired and dull.

There's a lot of Audioslave hate going around. I like them. I happen to like RATM better. However, I think Audioslave works too. Audioslave isn't Chris Cornell + RATM - Zac de la Rocha, it's a new band that just happens to resemble RATM - Zac de la Rocha. They have a more mellow sound and they're not heavily politically motivated. RATM is obviously about the energy and have some issues to raise. So, which one I listen to depends on my mood.
I just prefer RATM over Audioslave, that's all.
PS: Zac de la Rocha wasn't solely the soul of RATM. Let's not forget Tom Morello and his guitar style.

True, but Morello plays in Audioslave, and that's not RATM. What I mean by that is that Morello has taken that distinctive style with him to Audioslave, but the magic is still not there. When you hear de la Rocha you know it's Rage. I think as great as Morello is, de la Rocha was really at the core of Rage.

I think that Morello played differently while in RATM. The music in Audioslave seems a little slower and mellower. It's not as heavy and energetic.
Morello had some creative and energetic riffs and solo in RATM and you don't really hear that style of guitar playing in Audioslave. It's as if his guitar playing was watered down in Audioslave.

...Don't tell me I'm the only one here who thinks Out Of Exile was a smashing album :oh huh...?
RaTM for me.
Oh, and a little tid-bit ; Zach de la Rocha is the cousin of Cedric Bixler-Zavala of The Mars Volta.

I think it's pretty clear... RAtM is the winner. But Audioslave is not bad I think. I like Cornell singing style and to think the musicians changed their style so much to fit him. But RAtM was pioneers while Audioslave haven't added anything special into their music.

Well I like Audiolave alright, they aren't bad at all despite what some people think.
That said, RAtM is better, much better. I still listen to all of their stuff, but only occasionally listen to Audioslave. It's just more timeless, and Zach de le Rocha would just kill you if he heard you'd like Audioslave better, even if he didn't have to.

If anyone votes for Audioslave I will personally track them down, go to their house, and slap them in the face.

Can I skull-fuck them whe you are done?
Seriously.
Audioslave had the potential to be one of the coolest new things.
Instead it turned out to like the Bride of Frankensteins fetal discharge

Rage Against The Machine.
*loops "No Shelter" on playlist infinitely*
If I had read this thread through before voting I would've voted Audioslave just too see people come to Norway just to skullfuck me. I didn't, however, so I voted honestly.
It boils down to this:
RATM - I feel it.
Audioslave: I don't.

We interrupt this forum with a random act of necrophilia.
There is no competition. Audioslave is good, and Chris is an excellent vocalist, but they just don't seem to have the same rapport that RAtM had.

Then beware the wrath of the Men Who Will Find You And Kill You Then Make Holes in You to Fuck Once You're Dead.
Well, I'm not sure what they'll do to you, but what they'll do to Audioslave groupies are already rather unnerving.

Audioslave doesn't exist. I've spent many nights with a bottle of Jameson to finally reach this conclusion. Long live Rage!

I'm definitely going with Rage here. Not only is zach amazing at singing and Tom is ridiculously talented at guitar, but tim bob also has THE best sound in all of rock.

I like all Rage Against the Machine songs but I have yet to hear an Audioslave song that I like. I heard many of their songs from the album Audioslave, but I haven't heard any songs from their newer album Out Of Exile.
