Touya Akira is the genius in Hikaru no Go, having a passion and love for the game of Go since he was barely a child.
Hikaru Shindou is the young boy who found Fujiwara Sai bound to a Go board, and through his existance and influence, Hikaru found himself thrust into the terribly competitive world of Go.

The relationship between Touya and Hikaru is one of both rivalry and friendship, as they both push each other's goals further, chasing each other to the ultimate move known as the "Hand of God".

I'm working on yet another fic, while writing Game... heh. It's going to be a sequal to Traces of Distant Days, from Hikaru's perspective. What do you think of the idea? Should I leave Traces as a single piece, or should I go through with the other perspective? I'm thinking of possibly making it a set of three. Not too sure yet, but I'm toying with it.

I just got done filling a challenge. It was "Write a short story based on the first sentance that comes to mind".

More than a sentance, I cleared it with Dalmar to use Lyrics. This is for a song called Special K by Placebo. It's really the whole song, but the main piece I'm using is "No escaping gravity".

And yes, Yaoified.

And this also fits the 55 Themes, theme 40... Bwaha. Two birds with one Stone. This will be a drabble. Don't expect anything spectacular. ^.^;;

#40 War With Myself

Gravity

He wasn't sure how long it had been going on. A glance here, a lingering hand there. All Akira did know was that a very green eyed Shindou was staring at him from across the Goban. And Akira was staring back.

It was wrong, all wrong. They were rivals for crying out loud. They were so different, Akira calm and reserved, Shindou loud and abnoxious. It would never work. It couldn't work.

And yet, Akira knew it would work. There would be troubled seas, hurricanes and downpours, but in the end, there would be sunshine.

The realization flickered in his eyes, and Shindou's eyes widened. Akira felt the pull as Shindou leaned forward over the Goban, the forgotton stones falling to the floor. Akira's heart skipped a beat, and he returned the gesture, their lips looming ever closer.

There's no escaping gravity.

I swear, that was great.

And Gravity was really good. I loved the little internal struggle.

Hmm... and I liked that one, whoever posted it, of Shindou licking ice cream of touya's lips. That was cool... not sure why though.... Bah. It was still great. So was the "Shunggles"(that's what it said right?) one. Cat people are cool. Period.

#37 - Arousals

More drabbleness for 55 Themes.

No Fear

He still hasn't figured it out. I stare at him without shame, and yet his face is blank and unknowing.

He is completely unaware of how I feel. He knows nothing of how I crave the pale skin that curves so delicately at his neck, how my eyes trace the hem of his shirt that flirts so casually with his belly button, how my pulse quickens as he looks up and smiles at me. I smile back, the single drop of sweat that he mistakes for heat is the only clear sign of my arousal. He doesn't notice as I cross my legs, his eyes back on the Kifu in front of him.

He does not know that these feelings invade me day in and day out. He does not know that my dreams are invaded by thoughts of a beautiful green eyed boy with black hair and blonde bangs. He doesn't have any idea that I am filled with longing and desire for him.

And so it is no surprise that he doesn't know what to do as I lean in close to him. I should be afraid, and my heart is beating furiously, but I cannot feel anything but this tremendous love I have for him. He may not understand it, and he may react badly, but now is not the time for fears. I'll save that for later.

Right now, there is just me, him and the ever closing gap between us.

Theme #25 - Rejection

Burning

I can't understand it. I don't want to hear these words. Why is he speaking to me this way?

I press my hands over my ears. I know I look childish. I close my eyes. I don't want to see the tears leaking from his eyes. Why can I still hear him? I look up again, tears spilling like the blood from my heart as he wrenches the knife deeper into my soul. Aside from his tear stained cheeks, he stands in all his glory, his cold exterior never cracking.

I can only say one thing. "Why, Akira? Why?"

He says something about me not listening. Of course I wasn't. I don't want to feel this pain. I don't want to hear his words. I don't want to watch him walk out of my life.

I watch everything go up in flames as he turns around, his soft hair swishing across his face, hiding his eyes from my sight. He's just standing there there with his back turned to me. I pray he won't take that first step. I want to say something, anything, but what am I to say? What do you say to someone who told you they don't want you anymore? That there's someone else? What do I say?

Numbly, I reach out to him, but, as if my movement woke him, he starts walking. I watch helplessly as the only person who could ever understand me walks through the door and away from me forever.

Everything inside of me is burning, and all I can think is, "Why?"

Theme #55 - Suicide

Gloomy Sunday

Where are you? It's so dark here, so cold and empty. Even if it were light, there would be nothing to see. Your soul has left this plane of existance, and all I thought I was has melted away. Everything I've been has been for you. I remember everything. The first time we met, our game of cat and mouse, ever changing our roles.

Were you but a dream? No. It's not possible. Your warmth resonates within me still. But now it is nothing but a warm pain. In death, you have taken my soul and crushed my heart. The two essential parts I needed to live. There is nothing left for me. I built myself up, made myself what you wanted me to be. I lived for you, and you alone.

I see the dawn break the horizon, a sight I had grown to love. You would awaken me each morning just so I could watch it with you. It no longer feels right, a sin to this empty body. It is no longer beautiful without you. I cannot stay here anymore.

On this brisk sunday morning, I have made up my mind. I pour the pills directly into my mouth. You are just on the other side, and I am coming for you. I cannot live without, so I will die with you. Theme #13 - True Love

Always and Forever

Clarity. It was the only way he could explain it. In fact, he didn't even care if it was explained. He just knew. Shindou was the one for him. The only one. This was true love. That fact alone was enough for him.

It came to him in the most mundane way possible. There were things that built up to it, of course. The way Shindou pushes his hair out of his face regularly, for example. The way he sits so casually, looking like he just came off the cover of a magazine. The way he gently smiles whenever he's teaching Akira something that the 'normal' kids do. All of the little things definately lead Akira to his realization.

But the realization itself was so ordinary. Shindou was doing the simple task of teaching Akira how to make scrambled eggs. He was showing Akira how to cut the mushrooms correctly so that they would add flavor but not over power the dish. He had already cut onions and ham pieces, and the cheese was out, waiting to be sliced.

He was watching intently as Shindou's nimble fingers carefully diced a mushroom, moved the pieces aside, and started on a new one. He was rambling on about the instructions, looking down all the while, his eyes soft, but focused.

It was in that moment that he realized it; his soft eyes, his careful movements, his thoughtful explainations. Akira suddenly couldn't imagine his life without this. He could see into the future, so many moves ahead, just like their intense games. He saw Shindou, 10 years older, making breakfast, not in his mom's kitchen, but in theirs. He felt Shindou's warm caress wake him from a peaceful slumber, feather light kisses tickling him cheek. He saw them gerocery shopping together, Akira pushing the cart and Shindou dumping junk into it as Akira snuck it out as Shindou went for the next thing. He saw their wedding day, people crying and congradulating them. He saw Shindou, and nothing else.

He knew that someday, Shindou would be his Hikaru. They would share all of the intimate moments of their life. They would know each other like they've never known another. That was the way it was supposed to be, always and forever.

But Akira also knew that Shindou was not ready to be his Hikaru yet. He knew that it may take a very long time for him to be ready; but he would be, someday. That was enough for Akira.
