No, atleast not from my memory. I think they just rebounded and Kaiten deflected/defended most of the attack.

I believe Neji takes this. Regardless of how much more powerful Rock Lee is Neji is stronger plus considering the fact that his style counters taijutsu. Not to mention Neji is a Jounin while Lee is a Chunin.

Neji is the hurdle the Lee must overcome. Kinda like what Goku is to Vegeta. Until we see otherwise, Lee still is inferior to Neji

I don't think so. If Lee starts with anything but the gates or if Neji doesn't give him time to open the gates (both of which are likely scenarios, of course), then Lee destroys him just as he would have done in the Chuunin Exams.

none of this matters. they are both close range fighters so it could be them face to face or 100 miles apart they still have to be close to fight. pretime (during chunin exams) neji barely wins. pretime skip (when fighting the sound) neji badly rapes. post time skip neji wins

Gaara's sand armour managed to absorb most of the damage from Lee when he was in 5 gates. Neji is a taijutsu specialist and now has an improved Kaiten radius and presumerably power.

Not that it matters because lee would have a jyuuken in his heart.

Neji might be able to react to base Lee(w/o weights), but he loses to gated Lee IMO. Did ppl forget Neji lost track of KN0 in thier fight in the finals. Do ppl think that a 5 gated Lee can't disappear from Neji's sight. His byakugan can't predict movements like the sharrigan can. Lee loses the wieghts, gets some distance and opens the gates. It should be enough time for Neji to close the gap, but not enough time to stop Lee opening the gates by willpower and taking Neji down.

I agree with the fact that Neji could not defeat a 5 gated Lee. However, the act of reaching the 5th gate is not instanteous, it takes a while. The only way Lee reaches the fifth gate is if Neji allows him to. However, Neji would not simply because he knows how dangerous it is. He can simply rush Lee with Jyuken blows and due to the fact that Jyuken blows never miss Lee WILL take damage to his internal organs. This damage will ultimately accumulate and cripple him to the point that it may not be wise to put his body under the stress of releasing gates.

There is also the minor factor of Neji being bloodlusted here. Lee would never have the chance to open the gates in this fight. He would almost definitely lose.

Despited opening the 5 gates, Lee still failed to get past Gaara's sand armor and ultimately failed to challenge Gaara, not like Sasuke. On top of that, Lee has a VERY limited time frame in which he can maintain using the gates before it rips his body to shreds; 50 seconds at best maybe

Even against a KN0 Naruto, Neji was was going toe-to-toe. KN0's speed is comparable if not greater than Lee when opening his gates, and Neji not only saw every attack coming but kept up and blocked them off.

Lee will have such a short time to use the gates; the second he tries coming in and attack, Neji just has to use his Kaiten to deflect and throw that attack right back at Lee and it's over. Lee's seriously weakend, followed by 64 hands of hakke
