There haven't been any fandoms as a whole that have turned me off to a character. However, there have been some that make me avoid talking about the character. I guess it means they make me not explore some characters as much as I would like to, but it doesn't mean I turn out disliking the characters themselves.

No. I don't let other fans ruin my opinion of a character. Any character that I don't like....it's based totally on what happened in the story itself. Of course some fans can be annoying though. I know some people find me annoying too. The thing is that we're all fans here so I tolerate other opinions still even if I don't like those opinions. I don't really let it change my opinion of a character.

Same here. I usually am able to ignore pairings that I initially dislike until tards get in my face about it. For some reason character-tards have never had the same effect.

Tarding has ruined several characters for me. I merely had a faint dislike for Sasuke in the begining. But slowly as the series progressed, he began to get annoying. What made it worse was the Sasuke fanboys who worship every chapter is in, as well as the Sasuke-haters whose hate seemed to make more snese with each chapter.
I still like Pein, and hopefully the fandom here in NF won't turn me against him.

None if the forums have turned me against any of my fav characters. It was surprising at first to see so much hate towards the characters of Naruto, and to the extent most go to prove to others how 'lame' their least fav character is. But, it's totally understandable that everyone has, and is entitled to their own opinion.

I don't let it get to me. It's a waste of time to try and change people, and it's what makes the forums interesting. If everyone agreed all the time, it would be boring. Regardless of what other people say, Sakura is my fav character, and she will remain my favorite character. If you don't like her, that's cool, but it won't change how I see her.

YES. Hinata used to be my favorite character in the whole of Naruto, but slowly she's been less and less appealing because of her dumbass tards. It's always "OMG OMG HINATA IS A GODDESS. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH HER. YOU MUST LOVE HER TOO. HOW COULD YOU NOT LOVE HER? SHE IS SO PERFECT. SHE CAN BEAT LIKE NEJI AND PAIN AND STUFF." :facepalm I know she's pretty and lovable, but Hinatards are so annoying when they go to that extent (and a lot of them do). They keep saying that there is no reason to hate her when EVERY character is susceptible to hate, and well deserved at times. They vote for her no matter what to make her seem better, even on stuff like, "Who's the strongest kunoichi?" or "Who's the coolest (not cutest, not hottest, not most beautiful. Kishimoto himself said that Hinata was uncool, and rightfully so...) kunoichi". There is also an insane amount of undeserved hype on her too. Not to mention the whole "Hinata can surpass Neji!" and crap. Really? REALLY? Who's a jounin, and who's still a chuunin? Neji didn't sit on his ass all day, neglecting training while she "worked so hard she could beat anyone!". :oh The overrating has gotten to the point where I considered joining the anti-Hinata fanclub, and I never thought I'd do that. -_-

Other characters, like Sasuke, I have started to hate on my own. Itachi too. Down with the Uchiha! :pek

I began to like Killa Bee through the fandom on here (I think I registered as he was introduced), and then his Lariat just made me love the guy, but I don't think my opinions on characters have swayed that much since I've been here.

I pretty much started watching Naruto when Shippuuden started, too, so a lot of the support characters that featured heavily throughout part 1 haven't been used at all in part 2, so I haven't liked them in the first place for my opinion to change. The only characters to get any sort of major/important panel time in Part 2 have been Naruto, Sasuke, the Sannin and Akatsuki, which is rather disappointing.

If anything, my opinion of Madara has lessened a lot since I've been here, but nothing has swayed from one way to the other.

Nope, I don't let the views of other people on characters (whether their preferences are the same as or different from mine) affect the views I have formed as I read this manga and watched the anime. I tend to accept most of the characters while keeping in mind they all come with a set of qualities and flaws that distinct them from others in the manga, and prefer ignoring people who give their full focus in only one of the two elements that makes the characters.

Jiraiya fans have made me hate Jiraiya. Which is hard to overcome, since there are still people who think Jiraiya >>>>>>>>>>> Itachi. Rite.
