My theory on this

Adam's outfit when he was arrested during the Shanti virus incident suggests he wasn't very high in the company's hierarchy, so if he wasn't the boss, who was...

Arthur ruled over the other "heroes" with fear (just look at poor Maury) and was a tyran.

There are some things that point to Arthur not being a "nice" guy. The fact his sons were about to turn on him because of the FBI investigation, Linderman being his close buddy, also notice every time they talked about "the old days" when they came together and some amongst them decided to use their power for their own greed they never directly linked it to either Adam or Maury, instead they'd stay evasive. My bet is Arthur was that man, and he probably was so scary that the others just chose to look away and pretend everything was fine.

So scary/evil, that the only person who could get close enough to end this was his wife. My bet is that she poisoned him and hid the truth, telling people it was an heart attack/suicide.

I'm pretty sure everyone in the "old" company knows about this (Bob/Linderman/Kaito/Redhead/Maury) and they were probably all in on the plan to take Arthur down, except maybe for Adam since he was locked away.

My theory on the Arthur/Angela relationship anyway :LOS

And now Arthur's coming back for the lulz

I'd actually interpret that differently. It's not like the people who are low down in hierarchy are forced to dress casually. If anything, it's the opposite: if you're being bossed around at all, you'll be expected to dress professionally. Considering the way he dresses now, I think that if Adam had wanted to back then, he certainly would have. That he didn't doesn't show that he didn't have power or influence, just that he didn't give a damn about the trappings of authority. God complex, yanno? (My personal theory is that he was high and/or stoned throughout the entire 70's, aha.)

Of course, even if he didn't earlier, in the thirty years that followed, it's definitely possible that Arthur wielded some serious power. I do agree that his "suicide" was quite likely an assassination attempt. It's an interesting alternative explanation of why Angela was so crushed by it.

Nice theory and though I disagree on Adam being low on the hierarchy I'll agree on Angela probably assassinating him.

i was thinking along the same lines. if that's true though it certainly woulda been helpful if her future vision showed her that he was still alive earlier lol

I do believe Angela had a hand in somehow 'getting' rid of Arthur too. Seems like Adam was already locked away before Arthur was 'removed' too since he didn't suspect Arthur at all.

I also believe you are right. When Arthur appears in ma petrellis "dream" she doesnt seem happy or relieved to see her dead husband. Instead she is shocked and scared, even stating "no... It can't be" and "you won't succeed" as if she had gotten rid of him herself and never wanted him to come back.
