HITMAN REBORN!: THE GREAT RING CONFLICT

Plot:
A new set of rings have appeared and are said to be A+++ in rank. The Vortice rings are said to have great power, power enough to grant the wielders the ability to take over world. Only the Vongola rings and Mare rings possess enough power to go up against them. The aim is to for each family to try and get all the Vortice rings. Will you succeed or fail in the world of the mafiso?

Rules:
-Very little knowledge of Hitman reborn is needed, and help will be given to those who need it.
-The aim is to get a full family and collect as many rings as possible as well as the Vortice rings.
-Each family can only consist of maximum 7 characters.
-Each family must have one person of each flame attribute.
-No canon characters or families.
-If during the RP you are challenged to a ring battle you must accept.
-You can only challenge a character of your attribute to a ring battle.
-You may do what ever you like in the RP, but collecting rings are a major goal, as families with more rings can defeat yours.
-The higher rank ring you have is proportionate to your strength, as is the number of rings.
-Each ring is twice as strong as a ring of one rank lower.
-The winner of a ring battle claims a ring and a box from his opponent for his family.
-Each character starts of with 2 rings (one C rank and one D rank) and 2 boxes.
-When a full family of 7 characters are formed, they are granted a set of A rank rings named after their family.
-If you have less than 2 boxes 2 rings, you are allowed to create other D-rank rings and boxes to bring yourself back up to a total of 2 rings and 2 boxes (to keep circulation going).
-There will be a ranking ladder of the families showing the top and bottom families.
-Once you obtain a new ring or box, it would be helpful to edit your profile and I will then edit the OP of the main RP with the updated details.
-You need not be sky attribute to be the boss of your family.


Flame Attributes:
Sky: Enhancement The ability of the sky flames is to enhance things or substances.
Rain: Tranquillity The ability to weaken flames, things or substances.
Cloud: Propagation The ability to increase the mass of biological material.
Storm: Degeneration The ability to disintegrate flames and substances.
Thunder: Solidification The ability to harden/sharpen flames acts like electricity.
Sun: Activation The ability to speed up or start processes.
Mist: Construction The ability to build an illusion out of flames.


In each box is an animal or plant that is used in battle or for tactical reasons.

Use each flame with creativity but within the limits of its characteristics.

Each flame (apart from thunder) can also use the basic properties of fire (e.g burning).

A great manga series like that could make this a great RP, I would love to join as a Thunder flame user perhaps.

Weapon:A snake sword/segmented sword.(It is capable of a sword mode and a long range bladed whip mode.)
Character History:Born into a family that was well known for it's ties with an influental mafia family, though after that family was completely decimated by a much more powerfull family Dio and his parents fled the country.

The boy was a talented fighter and had a strong flame and therefor he was seen as the chosen child that would bring honor back to the di Verde family and forge a bond with a new family for the di Verde family to associate with.
Now he is known as one of Italy's strongest and talented hitmen, for his age though.

Will the Spina family be one of the families competing for the rings, if so won't it be odd for your character to be the boss if he has a cloud affinity.

Yea that thought pass my mind, but I didn't want the boss to be limited to just a sky user. Just because all the bosses shown so far have been Sky doesn't make it a set in stone rule, characters such as Dino I doubt he is Sky attribute, so I thought it best not to restrict the RP.

Yea sure he can Join the Spina family as the thunder guardian.

And yeah the manga did make it seem restricted to sky users but it also said that Sky flames were extremely rare (like because Xanxus had sky flames he was automatically thought to be a Vongola), and there are 100s of mafia families in the Rebornverse :P so logically there must be some that a run but users of other flame types. And it seems that flame attributes can also be passed down via blood as all the Vongola share sky and Hayato and Bianchi both use Storm. So I'm saying fuck it, and this will in theory be better for the RP.

Everyone can use all the types but not very well they all have affinities to one type, and hence are better with that one type, and lack any proficiency with the others to waste time using it. Like Hibari can use mist type (to hide his base, when he first pwn'd gamma) although he is a Cloud user. The way Gokudera uses his multiple affinities is he uses the small amounts of one flame and combines them with another to get different effects. People can use different types yes, but it is pointless unless they have a Systemia C.A.I or something which allows the different flames to be used at the same time during battle.

Okay, never actually read Reborn! but this RP looks like it could possibly be interesting.

Here's what understanding I have garnered: rings are a source of power and mafia type families are looking for the rings to get more power.

I'm unsure at the moment of the mechanicals of battle in this series, so if anybody could help me out it would be appreciated. Do rings each have a separate power that can be used in battle?

I like both of these ideas, I say that we have to characters battle in a flowing fanfiction sort of way and in the OOC dicussion we can judge based on overall power, strategy and quality of post would we think deserves to win as if we were discussing the lastest chapter.


And everyone loves a sun user, it is the most versatile I think.

Learned to use his numchucks from a website on the internet and is always practicing.

His father is always at work, however his family does not know he is a Mafioso. He left his son a suitcase for him to open when he believes he is ready. Saito has shoved it in the back of his closet and hasn't looked at it again.

Maybe a reptile of some kind, a crocodile or a Komodo dragon.

And the rain flame works by weakening/number opponents and flame, or something like that.
I've never seen it actually work in the manga but that's what they said anyway.

The rain flame, weakens things basically it has a similar outcome to storm via different means. Like in the Manga Gokudera uses rain flames to weaken his target and then storm flames to burn through. Like rain flames neutralize other flames as well.

Character History: Has trained as a member of the Notorious Black Card Mafia. A group of elite assasins that always carry a black card with deck suit and number on them. The higher the number on the card, the higher the assasin is ranked. He is a powerful Hitman who was once a potential candidate to become one of the Neo Arcobaleno, a group opposed to the Vongola's own.

Thus far he has abdicated his membership from Black Card Maria, and is only trying to obtain the Vorice Rings, so that they don't fall into the wrong hands.

Avant could you please explain to me what you mean by his true attribute is sky. Is your character a Sky user or a Storm user ???

Since Sky user's are adept in all of the ring attributes, he masquerades as a storm user. Just for the added element of surprise during battle

uhm...when you unleash your flame it would look like a sky attribute, not a storm attribute, you could pretend it's storm by not showing it, but it's hard to hide the color and the shape of the flame right?

Ok I understand that, Sky users can open all boxes but cannot use all flames. A sky user still has orange flames that opens all boxes, so can't masquerade as storm user. Unless he is using a storm ring and using extremely weak red storm flames a secondary attribute (if you read the chapter 192 again link in the first post it explains it more). Either way it is too complicated to get into now and even more so later, I would prefer if your person just stuck to one attribute please. Or at least in your profile list yourself as a sky user and open all boxes, but still carry on acting as if you are a storm user. If you do that your profile will be accepted.


Ok guys Ill set this straight, Sky users can open any box, and apply their sky flames to the content, which can be useful at times, but no so much at other times if your box weapon needs a specific flame to work (e.g Faust's Nuvalo Spina can use opened with a sky flame, but would not have the ability to grow into giant thorns as it needs the cloud flames propagation ability to do so). But box weapons such as sword and melee weapons that don't need a specific flame to work is fine. But I will not allow multiple attributes, but a sky user will still be able to open all boxes granted the box weapon uses the sky flames.

I hope that cleared up some problems.

@Tyrael, I would just like to remind you that each ring has an attribute as well, so like in the group of thugs that have attacked you, sharing a ring would only work if they all share the same the same attribute as the ring. Unless it is a deliberate error you added to show how stupid the characters are :P

@Tyrael, I would just like to remind you that each ring has an attribute as well, so like in the group of thugs that have attacked you, sharing a ring would only work if they all share the same the same attribute as the ring. Unless it is a deliberate error you added to show how stupid the characters are :P

It was what it seemed like-the guard getting killed. Who it was that killed him is something that I am saving 'till much later, as it would overbalance the RP at the moment. Still, I like to put these little hints of things to come earlier, plus it added a sense of chaos to the scene.

And as thats all the Sky users have apart from opening any box (and thus making that animal fight with A DYING WILL!) is all they have.

You could have tried to ask the Spina boys if you can join them for the duration of the fight, thus making LCR so outgunned she would have to retreat, thus meaning that she would be less likely to get hurt.

His memories exaggerate the image-he never actually killed the guy with his flames itself, although he thought he did. The other guy actually just passed out from the pain of receiving such a direct hit. My guy accidentally set the table on fire, which caused the whole house to go up in flames and his opponent was incinerated in that.

I didn't, however, know that mist is a weak flame, I'll keep that in mind.

This is also true, The Spina will only get A rankers and B ranks, like I stated in the rules, once a family is fully completed (3 A ranks, 4 B ranks). But ATM thats a long way away. The main rings of a family are A rank by definition and so later I'll add the Vongola and Mare rings into the mix.

Yeah, I was wondering about that myself, how about we make an arc where everyone meets eachother and works together to fight a common enemy.
this gives everyone a chance to develop their characters and recieve an additional box or something.

Heres my plan on how we increase our mas of boxes and rings.

You battle with each other and take their boxes, if you lose and only posses one box and or ring, I will allow you to invent a plot point where you find a new box and or ring, that will allow the amount of rings and boxes to continue increasing. And no one can ever be fully knocked out.

And as for the rings of different grades that depends on the families, upon a families completion, they may also produce a plot point that gives them a set of family rings, 3 of them must be A rank and 4 must be B rank and also a set of family boxes 1 for each attribute. And as the battles continue from now formed families, their high rank rings can now be taken in battle. And upon the point where we get 7 different families, I myself will create a plot point and give 1 of the Vortice rings to each family and then create an even bigger competion.

Well if you look at the FF Roleplay, 90% of the time we're alone, so we can write thousands of words on us wondering around and fighting solo. Most of the time none of us are in proximity to each other.

Here its the opposite, we're all alone, and the only interaction we have is with NPCs and other characters. I just make a funny observation because Infichi's posts here are pretty much the same length that they are in the FF RP, where as mine are dramatically shorter.

But personally I like the fact of having to forfeit your box, it adds flare. And it stops people making hax boxes if they know someone else can use it, also it works has how people can rp with something someone else made, but there will be certain points which I will say that will allow people to create new boxes. :zaru
