Ah right, then I'm still pretty sure it was intelligence leak or inside work. They seemed to have a lot of that in GS. I don't completely doubt Gil having ties with Djibril though. Didn't it seem rather quick that Gil was able to pin point Logos and Djibril as the source of the problem? I'm thinking the might have crossed paths before. But also I remember in the first episode that the coordinators were still addressing problems posed at them from Blue Cosmos.

Doesn't Djibril ever learn? Destroy gundams are easily becoming cannon fodder. I mean they sent 5 out at Heaven's Base, all got pwnd by like 3 MS. Most was dealt with by Destiny and Shinn. Chances are we'll see stock footage again...

Yes this place will be awefully quiet after GSD ends. Perhaps the Gundam Modelling thread will stay alive as we build more models and post pictures up? I was so excited to hear about GSD when it was first announced, I'm just really dissappointed on how things turned out.

don't tell me you do not know that guy... that my friend is Yoshiyuki Tomino... the some geeky gundam fans call him the god since he was the director of almost all gundam shows in history... he made gundam popular starting from the original MSG. i dunno about seed but in ANN (www.animenewsnetwork.com), he does get some credits for GS and GSD although he is, i think, not directly participating in the project...

The shirt and figures are both Tomino related, and are promos(I assume) for Zeta Movie II.

FYI: Tomino is given credit for ALL Gundam series because the franchise was created by him. By having the Gundam name, they are using his intellectual property and thus give him credit.

I've fallen back in love with Cagalli. She was the best by far in SEED, but so far in Destiny she's been boring - now, she's back to her usual fantastic self. Destiny vs. Akatsuki had me crying - didn't know who the hell to root for! I had to keep buying the sealed trading figures until I got the amazingly sexy Cagalli one. I love it so much. I got Kira, Milly, and Lacus too.

Probably the wrong thread, but does anyone have a load of Cagalli pics/fanart they could post to slake my fandom? XD I never really got around to collecting them before.

For those that watched the ep, did you see Dullindal after the plants were hit? He looked at the screens, then he turns and looks at everybodys reactions, then he goes "What the hell is the meaning of this?"

Check this, despite all those plants that were destroyed they were not what EA/Blue Cosmos Targeted! They were actually surprised that they hit all those plants. Im not sure what exactly they tried to aim for, but Djibril and all those guys on the moon know that they are in trouble.

Well, great episode today in my opinion. Finally some mass death that really makes people open their eyes, but some still remain the same...

Episode starts out with everyone in complete confusion over Lacus appearance on TV. Everyone is like: "Which one is the real one!?" -and then people start to point fingers at ORB, the EAF and ZAFT. Our fellow people in the desert, from the time when they took out that Lohengreen gate in a mountain pass, they started doubting Dullindal. But that little girl and some guy convinced them simply by saying: "Who were the ones who saved us?" -then people started: "ZAFT... yes, ORB and the EAF is to blame!" -and pointed their hate at them, who infact have nothing to do with it.

Djibril is overjoyed with Lacus' appearance on TV and think this may be their chance to strike at ZAFT / PLANT once and for all.

Back down on earth Meer feels like a faliure, a broken thing or something. Gilbert has a shuttle ready for her to escape and go into hiding. But Meer is hardly able to look at him, afraid of what he might do. But Gilbert, with a very (not) convincing face told her that there was nothing to worry about, and that both PLANT and him (Gilbert) were greatful for her beeing there, and that she was the true saviour in this war. I guess she got a bit of comfort from that, but she was still not at ease. Anyway, she headed up to space in the shuttle Gilbert had prepared for her.

Shinn and Lunamaria turns to Rey about this whole 'Lacus deal', and asks what he thinks. He simply brushes it off as: "The enemy is trying to confuse us; this is just one of their tricks." -but Lunamaria knows it's more to it than that, but refrains from telling Shinn. Rey tells them they have more important things to concentrate on right now: "... Freedom, and also... Athrun..." -Lunamaria goes: "Athrun!?" -and Rey tells her that he is onboard the Archangel right now, and pilots this mobile suit <shows picture of Infinite Justice>. Lunamaria then asks if Meyrin might be OK then too. Rey tells her that if Athrun made it, then it is likely that Meyrin is also alright.

Out in space, Djibril prepares to fire Requiem at PLANT. In the Requiem Control Room, some higher ranked officer asks Djibril: "But are you really going to fire this?" -Djibril answers: "Of course, that's the very reason I came here." -then the officer says: "Ah, thoes are reassuring words, I'm looking forward to it." -then they have a small dialogue I didn't really understand, but Djibril said something like that he's not the kind of coward that dosen't shoot when he has the chance, nor is he the type that hides and manipulates like Dullindal.

Meanwhile, Yzak's folks prepare to engage one of the mirrors that is supposed to reflect, or bend Requiems beam. However, they didn't know it was a mirror made to bend the beams. They engaged in battle with large numbers of mobile suits and battleships. When the mirror started to align in order to fire at PLANT, Yzak and his men tried to halt it's movement by taking out the boosters on it.

Requiem sure is a crafty weapon. They fire a beam from a cannon built under the surface on the moon. This beam then bends when shot trough one of these mirrors, and goes trough another, and maybe another to then hit it's final target. They have placed these mirrors all over space so it is possible for them to attack any of the PLANT colonies with ease.

Then they are in the final stages of preparing the shot. The officer asks Djibril what the target is and Djibril says: "Aprilius." -Don't know if that's the huge battleship-like base that flies around in space, or if it's ZAFT's actual military HQ, anway. Let me tell you, this cannon is sexy. Comparing it to Genesis is so lame. This one is so much more evil. The color of the beam alone... ah... awsome...

The destruction is total there is nothing left of it. This beam bends trough these mirrors and hits the final destination and the colonies are decimated. It cuts trough them like a hot knife in butter. But again, something is not right. Dullindals reaction is so odd. He's like: "..." -and looks at the guy next to him, then he starts: "What the hell is the meaning of this!? Where did that shot come from!?"

Djibril wasn't really satisfied with the shot. It didn't hit the target he intended, just some colonies with millions of innocent people.

But Yzak, like the true hero he is starts to take out one of these mirrors so they wont be able to fire it again. They manage to blow up one of these mirrors, but that dosen't heal the wound inflicted. Pictures are shown on the Archangel and on the Minerva. They are terrified of what they see. Someone on the Minerva watching the screen screams: "Mother!" -Shinn and Lunamaria are in total distress, they don't know what to do. Rey then breaks the atmosphere for Shinn and Luna a bit and says: "It's Djibril..." -then he explains how Requiem seems to operate (what I described above), and then he says: "Djibril escaped, that's our responsibility." -then Shinn starts: "Djibril escaped... that's because...!" -and has a flashback to where Athrun kicked his ass in Infinite Justice, and where the Archangel was battleing the Miernva, and Strike Freedom against Legend.

The Minerva has now prepared to go to space in order to stop Requiem once and for all.

Then we have a quite big dialogue on the Archangel. Athrun says there is nothing left to do now. Kira says that despite the fact that this happens, I am sure no one truely wants to fight. And Lacus says: "But this war that is built on 'attacked one attacks back, attacked one attacks back', we have no means to stop it." -(not really 100% on that line) then Lacus and them have a really big dialogue about this whole war, and if people really want to fight or not, and Gilberts 'Destiny Plan', and what he really intends to do with this world. Mwu asks when they have said that Gilberts 'wish' is to erase everyone and leave only the coordinators: [I]"But where does Gilbert stand in all this? The triumphant king?" -but Murrue says that the true winner here most likely is fate. Athrun says: "Is it all in vain...?" -and Kira says: "Is it really?" -and them Mwu says the best thing in the episode: "You wouldn't do something that is in vain?" -then Athrun says: "I'm not that good at giving up!" -Kira: "Right?" -then Cagalli says: "Me too! -and Mwu: "Me too, or something..." -Murrue: "That's right. Me too." -then Meyrin makes the cutest 'pose' or something, I was like: "Oh my god, if she was candy, I'd gobble her." -she looks soooooooooooo cute, god, so adorable.

Then Kira makes the 'cheesy line of the month' (CLotM), yes, he really says what you are about to read. I guess it can be translated differently, but this is what he says: "Let us rise to the skies Athrun! Us too...!" -Athrun: "Kira?" -Kira: "We have to stop the chairman." - "The one who creates the future isn't fate." ("It's the people..." -he didn't say that, but it's what he meant)

Episode ends.

And it seems like there is going to be some more Shinn x Luna now... god, it's like, comfort me and I'll comfort you. No love, nothing.

It been a while since we last saw Yzak Joules and Dearka elsman in Action. Dearka pilot the blaze zaku phantom, but Yzak seems to be piloting a modified Gouf phantom with extra gear that we don't see on regular gouf.:blink

Woa. This episode was awesome, we FINALLY got a small basic idea of what the DESTINY PLAN. As what Jujubie said, it does resemble Brave New World, the alphas and betas with a mix of 1984. Sheer dictatorship and human manupilation by screwing around with genes.
And I'm glad to see Meer with that helpless look, she deserves to be single out since she's pretty much useless now after being busted. XD

I have been wondering about that for a while myself. So far, almost every technologically advanced weapon has come from the EAF. They have mobile armors with energy shields, they had that Nibelung (spelling is probably off) cannon at Heaven's Base, and now they have the Requiem. What, pray tell, has ZAFT developed? They made Gaia, Chaos, and Abyss at the beginning of the series, and later on they churned out Legend and Destiny. Meanwhile, the EAF produces Destroy Gundams like there's no tomorrow.

At the very least, the series has been improving as we near the end. Personally, I have found that Destiny is normally enjoyable when one watches it, but when one steps back and thinks about what is going on, the story's lack of depth is revealed. Now that we have learned some solid details about the Destiny Plan, and now that we are seeing great action in almost every episode, the series is at last reaching the heights of its predecessor. Of course, nothing can change the fact that much of the series has been rather poor in many respects, but so far they are building up for one hell of a finale.

While there has been some progress in the department, EA has so much more since they know their pilots are not equal to their ZAFT counterparts, and so they push their research team more.

Finally we got that: "OMFG!"-thing in Destiny which it till now has been lacking.

Well in SEED, ZAFT wasn't that bad. I mean they did come up with Freedom and Justice which STILL owns other gundams power-wise. IN addition they also invented GENESIS. And in the beginning of DESTINY, we got to take a look at their something Stampeeder (can't rememebr what it was callled, Neutron Stampeeder?) So as Kiba-kun said, Dullindal might have already engineered all the crap that EAF is pulling out now. I mean somehow Dullindal must have already have his hands on all this Requiem crap since he also was able to get info on Destroy Gundam and stuff.

I just have this feeling that Shinn is one of the first products of the Destiny Plan, and that all his memories are just made up in order for him to become a fighter. If Dullindal's plan were to become reality Shinn would be disposed of immediately since all he supposedly can do is fight. The thing wrong about this is Shinn is 16 which I believe means Shinn was born before the Destiny Plan was thought up. But I do believe it is possible for accelerated aging and growth (Rau was having this problem right?).

So maybe Shinn is a coordinator designed for fighting much like Kira. Dullindal is only manipulating Shinn through dreams, trauma and video images (first stages of the Brave New World human designs after invitro fertilization birth) whereas Kira is the product of direct gene manipulation (embryo invitro manipulation). So far, Dullindal is only interested in making fighters to bring his world order and then possibly design the rest. His enemy is free will.

Well Heliopolis was neutral and had both natural and coordinators in it so I wouldn't be suprised if coordinators did help with the gundams. And then, as Uchiha_Itachi_ said, ZAFT carried it on even further and developed Freedom and Justice.

I wouldn't say that EAF are more interlectual than ZAFT because the Freedom and Justice are nuclear powered because of their n jammer cancellers. This is something which EAF are not capable of producing.

lacus does have supporters in plant... i think most of those supporters are war veterans... so it is inevitable for some to switch sides and fight for lacus... after all, lacus and the 3 ship alliance did manage to stop the war after the battle in yakin due(GS)

The Akatsuki is most likely using that technology that is similar to the Legend in that you don't need to have huge spatial abilities to use them. This means everyone and their mothers can use DRAGOONs.

They barely even have any screen time.

Looking back I'm not sure why Rey was so hung up on Rau. Perhaps he didn't know Rau's true colors. If he did I don't know if he would have been so willing to take revenge on Kira for what he did to Rau (who was trying to kill Kira for even existing in the first place). Right, time for me to make my cast suggestion:

The story will take place at an upper class Junior High and High School, the Zodiac Institute of Knowledge or whatever we will call it where many children of government officials and rich people attend school. Three year high school system.

Athrun (Year 3 HS): Our hero! Coming from a rich and influental family, he's the guy that everyone wants to be or be with, and he has the girl that everyone wants to be or be with. Being Athrun Zala seems to be great, but when his old friend Kira Yamato transfers to his school, things are about to change... Is ridiculously nervous around all girls except Lacus. Enjoys working with technology and is head of the Computer Club, the club with the next highest female member count in the school. Does archery outside of school and is also the team captain of the school's football (americans: soccer) club. Position: Central defender, nicknamed "Aegis".

Lacus (Year 3 HS): Athrun's fiancée, and one of the school idols. While she likes Athrun a great deal, she has been having thoughts about whether or not it's for the best that their marriage has been decided by their parents. A strong willed but gentle girl. Is rarely seen without the company of her "Pink-chan", a new-model easy-carry laptop casemodded by Athrun. Is in the school choir.

Kira (Year 3 HS): Athrun's best friend who has been studying abroad for a while has transferred to the Zodiac Institute of Knowledge. Seems to have a talent for attracting women that is only surpassed by Athrun's. A bit naivë but charming (what to do with Torii?). Has a crush on Frey and joins the Computer club. Also joins the football club as a striker. A smart and innovative player he's nicknamed Kira "Strike" Yamato.

Frey (Year 2 HS): The girl that everyone wants to be or be with... if it weren't for Lacus. Insecure and extremely dependant upon her father after her mother's death, she constantly tries to act stronger than she really is. Is best friends with Miriallia Haww. Is head of the fashion club and head cheerleader.

Miriallia (Year 3 HS): The girl next door... for Frey Alster, she literally is. Friends since childhood, she's an assertive and dependable girl. In a steady relationship with Tolle Koenig, and is head of the photography club and a cheerleader.

Cagalli (Year 3 HS): Transfers into the school in the middle of the season. Adopted daughter of a foreign government official. Crushes over Kira, but there's a rude awakening in store for both of them...

Shinn (Year 2 HS): Classmate and friend with Frey and admires Athrun, and is part of the Computer club. He doesn't know why, but there's something about Kira that he just doesn't like... Fiercely protective of his sister and friends. Central midfielder and playmaker in the football club. Develops a crush on Stellar later on as he helps her with her rehabiliation.

Rey Dullindal (formerly Rey za Burrel) (Year 2 HS): Much younger nephew of a teacher and adopted son of the principal, Rey is constantly #1 when it comes to tests and exams. Not near Athrun's or Kira's levels, Rey does have quite a number of female admirers at the school thanks to his good looks and oh so soft hair, which he loves more than life itself. Is in the music club and plays piano for the choir. Best friends with Shinn. Team manager of the football club.

Lunamaria Hawke (Year 2 HS): An outgoing and popular girl, Lunamaria has a different view of the dress code than most other students, adding some personal flavour to her uniform but never going too far. Is a member of the fashion club and is a friend of Frey's. Is a member of the same archery club as Athrun is and has a crush on him. Cheerleader.

Meyrin Hawke (Year 3 JHS): Lunamaria's younger sister. Is a bit more timid than her older sister and has an inferiority complex towards her. Since the JHS and HS are in the same building she usually hangs out with her sister and her friends. Naturally has a crush on Athrun.

Nicol (Year 3 HS): One of Athrun's closest friends, he's the head of the music club and plays the piano. Has already released his first record. Is a striker together with Kira and Yzak in the football club and is nicknamed "Blitz" for his amazing speed.

Yzak (Year 3 HS): Part of Athrun's group of friends, but he sees him more as a rival than anything else. When Kira joins the football club and takes up position next to him and Nicol as a striker he naturally starts to think of him as a rival as well, and is determined not to let him overshadow him. Despite his effeminate looks Yzak's tough, real tough - he's gotten his nickname "Duel" since he's always the one taking hits for his team mates and roughing up the opponents, as well due to his club - head of the fencing club.

Dearka (Year 3 HS): Another of Athrun's friends, is a member of the fencing club and plays to Athrun's right in the three man defender line in the football club. Swears he doesn't do it on purpose, but all the broken bones opposing teams have suffered at his legs since he started playing for the school in Junior High has earned him the nickname "Buster".

Meer Campbell (Year 3 HS): Lacus' most devout follower and confidant, and founder of the "WE LOVE ATHRUN ZALA" club, the club with the highest amount of female members ever in the school's history. Despite how she admires Lacus, she can't help but wish that she and Athrun would break up... and then it's open season. Is in the choir.

Mayu (Year 3 JHS): Friend of Meyrin and often hangs out with her and her sister in their group, which includes her older brother. Unlike most girls she doesn't have a crush on Athrun, but instead on Kira Yamato... Has a pink cellphone which her brother gave to her (to always be able to contact her, she might get in trouble!).

Stellar Loussier (Year 2 HS): A new transfer, Stellar's not entirely right in the head after an accident but she's recuperating at a good rate. Even if her time in class is mostly spent looking out the window at the ocean she's paying attention at times and being around others, especially Shinn, seems to help her.

Sting and Auel (Year 2 HS): They're in a parallel class to Shinn. There'll be more focus on them later on.

Crot, Shani, Oruga: Troubled and bored upperclass kids who do drugs. Will be part of a later story arc.


Tolle, Sai, Kuzzey, Vino and the like: Ordinary students, Tolle is in the football club as the goalkeeper.

Heine Westenfluss, Miguel Aiman (Teacher Assistants): Aspiring teachers who are currently out on a practice run, and with Heine's father giving a call to old Gil they got a chance to do it at his school. They appear in all classes and generally spread harmony around the school. Both are aspiring musicians as well, and are thinking of forming the duo Heine/Miguel's Revolution, shortened to HM Revolution.

Rau le Creuset: Uncle of Rey Dullindal and friend of Gilbert Dullindal, he's an extremely well-qualified teacher, as people with Nobel prizes usually are. However, due to his overqualification and the fact that a lot of his students prefer to gaze at or dream about Athrun Zala he has become rather cynical and has pretty negative thoughts about humanity in general. Teaches physics, biology and mathematics.

Mwu la Flaga: Cousin of Rau le Creuset. Both were raised in the same household by Mwu's deceased father, but his father always preferred Rau to Mwu. An intense rivalry has developed between them. Almost always has a smile on his face and knows how to make his students enjoy their school life. Teaches P.E and chemistry and promises students he'll help them make the impossible possible.

Murrue Ramius: Popular female teacher who cares for all her students. Teaches engineering and sexual education. Rumor has it that she has an affair with another male teacher...

Natarle Badgiruel: Strict but compassionate teacher, schooled in the classical arts and raised with old-fashioned discipline. Teaches P.E and English.

Andy Waldfelt: Jovial social studies and civic studies teacher. Has a lock on the cabinet where the faculty coffee maker is stored.

DaCosta: Newest teacher at the school, also teaches social studies and civic studies.

Talia: Vice Principal and drinking buddy of Murrie Ramius.

Arthur: History teacher, loves talking about legends. Not the brightest fellow, but a great memory and knowledge of history.

Murata Azrael: Home economics/business economics teacher who hates all sort of genetically altered food. In order to help achieve a green, pure world he has a prized greenhouse on the school grounds where many of the vegetables and fruits he uses in his education are grown.

Lord Djibril: Reluctantly promised to teach at the school after he lost a game of chess to Dullindal. Teaches all forms of advanced theoretical subjects, but what other plans could this man have..?

Gilbert Dullindal: Principal and philosophy teacher. On the outside he's the perfect principal, but he has certain plans for the school which wouldn't be passed at the school board unless he sets something in motion first...

Phase-45 "The Overture Of Revolution" - PLANT is in an uproar thanks to the attack by the Requiem from the moon base. By Dullindal's decree, the entire ZAFT force launches for an attack. Yzak's team strikes Fauré, the relay point, and the order to attack the Requiem is given to the Minvera, which had just come to space...

Phase-46 "The Song Of Truth" - Under Dullindal's command, PLANT deals with the aftermath of the Requiem battle. Meanwhile, the Archangel, having been officially accepted into Orb's forces, enters the port of the free moon city Copernicus. Before Lacus and company head out, a red Haro carrying a message appears...

Phase-47 "Meer" - The Lacus assassination attempt using Meer was prevented but there was a sacrifice. Lacus' group returns to the Archangel and, reading Meer's diary, their thoughts linger. Meanwhile, Dullindal announces his "Destiny Plan" to an audience following the Requiem battle...

Phase-48 "To A New World" - The defense policy known as the "Destiny Plan", upon which the fate of humanity rests, is announced by Dullindal. Video Research Ltd. once again has SEED DESTINY ranking in the top 10 anime. Phase-44 received a 7.8% rating, even higher than last week and tying the rebroadcast of Phase-3 for the second highest ratings in the show's entire run. Brings its average ratings up to 5.3%.

Within a disk consisted of Meer's Diary.
Consumed by emotions, a feeling of gloom covered Athrun, Kira, and Lacus.

The annoucement was the "Destiny Plan". Its content created an uproar in the world.

Just downloaded Seed-Fansubs' 44. I must say that Destiny might be able to redeem its ending if the last 6 episodes were done right. I'm hoping Dullindal has an ace up his sleeve besides revealing the Destiny Plan. He looked pretty happy in that chair near the end of the episode... If the ending is spectacular, then the only thing I would say I didn't like about GSD was its poor character development and continument.

Most likely those ranks where handed out or labeled out by the determination of each character. Athrun probably could be ranked general too due to experience and basically cuz his one of the best coordinators out there. But because he still not to clear on what to do. He has to be tested out.

And the triangular things that are red/orange indicate that Kira is also of a lower rank. But still, Kira is a very high ranking officer by now, Shinn beeing in FAITH is nothing compared to that. :P

Yeah, never thought about it that way. But I really found it creepy how he didn't have a reaction until he looked over at the other ZAFT officier next to him. Apparently he gets a lot of critisim after announcing the Destiny Plan. He probably wanted to get rid of the other council members so he would be the only one ZAFT could look to. Notice how he's rarely at PLANT. Hanging out on Earth or on the frontlines. Maybe he had connections to Djibril before and knows that he would aim for Aprilus...

Before watching GSD 44 (I read spoilers about the Destiny Plan), I expected Dullindal to be happy and have a content face. BECAUSE, if you want to have a Brave New World-ish world, you have to get rid of everyone before the new world so that the old types can't influence (or rebel) the new types. His job is done for him by Djibril. He just has to stay safe at the fortress and command his puppets. It's pretty obvious. And lo and behold, it happens. Dullindal has a happy face.
The way that Djibril talks about Dullindal makes me believe that they are acquaintances.

Problem is we don't even know what Dullindal really wants. What Lacus said about the Destiny plan was simply her assumptions and personally I think Lacus used that as a recruiting tool and Kira simply added the finishing touches with those sugarcoated words of his.

Problem is we don't even know what Dullindal really wants. What Lacus said about the Destiny plan was simply her assumptions and personally I think Lacus used that as a recruiting tool and Kira simply added the finishing touches with those sugarcoated words of his.

So you're saying that Lacus-sama is wrong and that her assumptions are just completely persuasive words in order to lure the AA and company into war?? Er first off, why would Lacus want to do that? More importantly, why would KIRA want to do that especially when he hates war? Even though Lacus only has a small part of the DESTINY PLAN from that small notebook, I think she, as Lacus-sama, who has her own MS factory in space, a faction that belongs to her own followed by many people and being an intelligent Captain of Etenral in SEED is probably smart enough to figure out what Dullindal is up to and even if she is not, our fellow Ultimate Coordinator Mr. Kira Yamato is also smart enough to figure stuff out already. So I say, what Lacus said in in 44 is pretty much accurate.

I share that feeling with you (listen to me Fukuda damn you don't mess up anything else), and while I was a little mad/surprised to see Athrun and Cagalli officially end for the moment I didn't expect people to be in a big uproar about it all.

Legend is awesome btw. I can't wait to see Strike Freedom vs. Legend

This shows u that Fukuda doesnt give a rat's arse about fan's opinion. And quite frankly, i didnt think AsuCag really worked well. In seed, it looked like as if AsuXCag would work well, but in GSD, it didnt for political reasons. Now that Jonna died, it mightve worked, but that would result in teh weakness for both Athrun and Cag. Athrun hasn't been the same for 43 episodes, and Cag was too soft.

With teh breakup, this allows both characters to become more strong IMO. As well, I agree with Chillin
