i don't think that will happen... from what we saw in the other battles, the AA crew was more on dispersing the enemies rather than killing them... but of course, those were ORB and EAF units... so we really do not know if they will do that... but if they're upholding ORB's true ideals, i think they'll try not to kill as much as they can...

Hmm this recap episode actually wasn't that bad. I am very surprised that I actually enjoyed this episode a little. Kira's words at the end were very touching. The new touches to the OP are nice. S-Freedom's joints glow gold at the end now, and they updated the character/MS sequences with S-Freedom, I-Justice, and Akatsuki.

You do know that the whole 'Requiem' thing is just a misunderstanding.

Requiem means:


A mass for a deceased person.
A musical composition for such a mass.
A hymn, composition, or service for the dead.


And this word was used in the sentance:

"When he returns to space, I will rise up there and the requiem will be played, and it will all be over."

I guess you could take it as beeing a weapon of mass destruction like Genesis was, but I don't think that's the case. :)

I think Djibril just means that he will orchestrate this whole war into the direction it was supposed to go from the very start.

I have the same feeling for my posts, that people ignore them. It is just that if everyone replied to every post then we would have 100 pages by now. That and there are quite a few times when I wanted to reply but the discussion was already to far beyond that of which would make replying acceptable.

I think that there is some rule that makes a good post one that doesn't have to be replied to. It is the crappy ones that need to be addressed further because of the confusion and emotions brought on by the post. Not true for every discussion, but it does occur often.

yeah... this recap ep could never have been better... everything was just perfect... the timing, the scenes, and we finally hear athrun's and kira's thoughts on the current war... and i think its just the right time for the recap for the whole GSD... good thing they did a brief, and concise recap...

i'm not going to debate with you about the the definitions of the word "antagonist" and "protagonist" as people have their own views, I'm understand the words very well and i am very sure of my reasoning as to why Shinn is a protagonist.

Umm...

Firstly, Patrick, Klueze and Azrael were the main antagonists, and they were all interesting and dangerous characters. Secondly, extendeds didn't turn up until Destiny; Clotho et al were merely drugged up to the max. Thirdly, Athrun did just do the tiniest little job of ending the ZAFT dictatorship and almost sacrificing his life to destroy GENESIS, so it's not like he didn't have anything to beat. In fact, he defeated the major threat. Finally, SEED was great. ^_____^

I know who were the antaogonist. And i was saying their overall impact to the serie. I mean, beside those guys, who actually knew how to pilot a ms? Making the serie more interesting? Beside Klueeze, those 2 were just preachers ... OMG! They r so cool. haha =)

I know Athrun sarcrificed his ms to blow up genenis bc only a nuclear explosion would be big enuff to kill the damn thing. But the point is that the main focus of attention was KiravsKlueeze. The extended got killed pretty easily, and it couldve been finished during the battle in ORB, but they dragged it on into space.

Seed was great, but it couldve been better :cool

So yes ... Shinn cannot switch sides cus if that was the case, we already know the outcome would be.

I wouldnt say that. But then again, we have different taste. I think it was good bc we get some insight on what Athrun was feeling while laying down on bed. Tho i didnt really care about Kira's speech bc i already knew em and it really sounded sorta corny (no offense). However, the best part of the epi was the preview of 42. The doms and justice were awesome

If those rumors were to be true I think Kira will be the one to stop the weapon this time, but he won't self destruct S-Freedom he will launch funnels into the core while fighting off its defensive weapons. While Kira is making his assault on the weapon, Athrun and Shinn talk to/fight Lunamaria (who is seriously mad that Shinn "betrayed" ZAFT) and Rey, Shinn and Athrun will try to convince them that everything isn't what it seems. Cagalli will be fighting random MS like she did the last time, maybe she'll even save Kira this time (for a change, he's done so much for her in GSD). See, there are plenty of things for everyone to do :amuse

Shinn wont change sides, he's an antagonist, everything shown till now proves that. Just because the guy appeared in the first episode doesn't mean he will be the protagonist.

Fuduka wanted to kill a main character, after/during SEED, he knew he couldn't kill Kira or Athrun cuz the fanbase will kill him. So he made SEED Destiny with an Antagonsit so even if he chooses to kill him, he won't have to face te wrath of the fans.

I actually thought, like way in the beginning of Destiny, I thought Shinn would turn into a good, decent character, who faught for all the right reasons. Obviously, that did not happen. I've lost all hope for that guy, although, I do wish that when the series ends, that Shinn's reputation will be redeemed. But other then that, we'll see it all play out. jhahah.

Lots of people must have saw it coming. At least I did because from the beginning scene where you see Shinn's family in bloody pieces with Freedom in the background, it was a great setting for the making of an anti-hero. I had no doubt that Shinn would want revenge against Freedom. This is also cliche. It has been done in many novels and genres. Look to some Greek and Latin poems. :wink

It took two seasons Seed to equal the number of Gundams in G Gundam. Imagine what the count would have been in G Gundam if they made a sequal.:amuse

Does anyone think that the system that Impulse Gundam uses was a little wasted? Im sure Minerva must have been well stocked with Impulse parts to launch at least 4 or 5 Impulse Gundams. That would have been better, that way even Rey or Luna would have been able to pilot a gundam instead of Zaku's, with lots of Impulse parts to spare. Heck, even Athrun wouldnt have needed the wasted Saviour Gundam either:laugh

Blood's official site (http://www.blood.tv/top.html) lists the show beginning on October 8th. This would make October 1st the date of Gundam SEED DESTINY's last broadcast. Assuming no further interruptions, that makes the series a total of 50 episodes, the same as the first SEED.

Some recent rumors saying that DESTINY is getting a timeslot change in August are, to my knowledge, unsubstantiated. All episode guides to date show only Phase-42 airing an hour earlier, not the rest of the series.

Fukudak: Meylin opens channel for conversation with Lunamaria during a battle. There Luna realizes Meylin's survival. But an arguement occurs during the conversation. Why? Take a look at previous Yzak and Dearka.

Fukudak: After the war at Orb, Cagalli returns to Orb. I've only got a couple of shelves full of manga and anime ^_^; I've got the full collections of Love Hina, Furuba and Kenshin mangas (so far) and I'm also collecting Tokyo Babylon, Gundam SEED Astray, and a few others I forget...Got SEED, Trigun, Berserk, X/1999, and Zeta Gundam bootlegged and Char's Counterattack and Akira genuine DVD's. Most of the anime I've got is on my PC ^^;

I'm pretty flamboyant and friendly...I like to party, but I equally love just sitting around with one friend and a film and chilling. I'm pretty popular, but because I tend to stand up for what I believe and because I'm a little different I also have plenty of enemies XD Oh well!

There's me in a nutshell then....if anyone cared ^^; This is a pretty great forum - even though we've had our debates, they've mostly been friendly and fun. It's also not insanely over-moderated - www.seed-forum.com.

Hey what can I say there are good shoujo titles. I compensate with titles such as Elfen Lied, Berserk, Hellsing, and Burst Angel which are all heavily shounen.

After rushing to the rescue in the Strike Freedom, Kira faces a hard battle from Shinn in Destiny and Rey in Legend with their solid teamwork. Athrun inserts himself into that battle piloting the Infinite Justice, and tries to persuade Shinn to stop fighting, but a confused Shinn attacks the Justice.

Interesting spoiler Akirou. It seems even the ultimate coordinator himself will have problems against our Shinn. But I guess you can't blame him. Fighting two first-class mobile suits, with first-class pilots is hard, no matter what restrictions you have put on yourself (killing, or not killing). But I can't believe that they will be pushed back with Athrun there now and all. I just can't see that happening. It would be too wierd. It would remove the very meaning of Kira and Athrun as 'protagonists' in the anime if they are going to get their butts kicked in the first encounter in their new mobile suits.

It's 2v1 (Rey+Shinn vs Kira) so it shouldnt be a surprise if Kira will face some difficulities. I mean, if he managed to open a can of ass whooping, then wtf, u might as well say Seed all over again (with the 3 extended vs Kira). So unless u want a deja vu again, it should be realistic that way.

My guess is that when Athrun joins that battle, then will mark the outcome of the battle. Since Cag will make an announcement towards the world, it might suggest that the ZAFT was defeated for the time being. So ya...

I suspect that ZAFT will be held off just long enough for Djibril to get away and prepare the Requiem. Then Dullindal will have to pull out of Orb's national waters and there will be a big race to save PLANT.

I think ZAFT will retreat once Infinite Justice comes on the scene. Kira holds off Shinn and Rey (who individually cannot beat him) until Athrun arrives, then it is an even match. Kira and Athrun will not get their butts kicked.

The Destiny is not underpowered. It is one of the fastest if not the fastest mobile suit. It cut a Destroy in half with one down swing. The after image mirage colloid effect is its gimmick much like S-Freedom has the funnels.

Nah...I think that if he used them without going seed, imagine how imposibly powerful will he be using seed.

I beleive that seed gives the user the ability to push the mobile to its limits. In this case kira would push S-Freedom to its limits and use the funnels to perfection.

And kira was cought so we the viewers could see the funnels in action. And because the writter had to somehow introduce the funnels. Furthermore kira was not in seed mode. If he had gone seed he could have finished the 25 goufs without the funnels. I think the funnels are something extra to further improve the vastly imposibly powerfull all mighty Freedom (I think I went a little over the edge with that:P )

But thats my belief!

Kira doesnt always need to be in seed mode, remember when Kira rescued Lacus and Waltfield when they took a Shuttle from Zafts base to get to Eternal? he wasnt in seed mode then.

Anyhows all the stuff about funnels and being able to control them with there minds wont happen in CE, at least not in Gundam Seed Destiny.

Fact is CE has dragoons not funnels, that are controlled wirelessly from a computer, not controlled by your mind through a Psychomm interface.

Newtype powers in CE are limited to having superhuman powers of spatial awareness, being able to sense the presence of certain people, and being able to talk to people souls (dead or alive:P ).

*Strike Freedom was made using data from Freedom/Kira
*Strike Freedoms MA-M21KF high energy beam rifle is an improved version of Freedoms MA-M20 beam rifle. 2 MA-M21KF rifles can join together to form a long range weapon.
*MGX-2235 "Callidus" multi-phase beam cannon located in the abdomen, really powerful even though strike freedom has many weapons in the entire body.
*MMI-M15E "Xiphias 3" rail cannons, the electromagnetic launcher which is an improved version of the rail cannons of Freedom Gundam
*MA-M02G "Super Lacerta" beam sabers, a revised version of the beam saber of Freedom and Justice

*Strike Freedoms Super Dragoons doesnt need the pilot to have Superhuman Spatial awareness, uses Zaft latest dragoon technology, similar to Legend Gundam Dragoon

*MX2200 beam sheild, similar to other beam sheilds but different as S-Freedoms beam sheilds are based on the Eurasian federation "mono-phase lightwave" technology that was used at Artemis and the Hyperion Gundam. The shape of the beam sheild can be change according to the situation.

It mentions something about Strike Freedom being a "Second Stage" unit like Destiny, Legend, Impulse etc. It also mentions that its data was leaked to Lacus's group. Im guessing the same thing happened with Strike Freedom/I-Justice as what happened with the Dom Trooper. The Dom Trooper project was half done, but then was scrapped by Zaft in favour of the Zaku Project, then Lacus got a hold of it and finished the project.

If possible could someone else give a better translation please?

Nah... maybe not yet... i think legend's dragoons cannot be used in earth... someone did say that ordinary dragoons cannot fly arround in earth's atmosphere... and as of now, only Super DRAGOONs can do so... and i believe it... rey could have used the dragoons in two occations(stopping athrun and battle at heaven's base) but he did not... what im looking forward to is the how cagalli can hold her own against Shinn... and how athrun will joun the party!!!:amuse PLUS! we also get the DOM Troopers and possibly, their Trinity Attack!

OK! I'm double posting, please excuse me.

So anyway.

Great episode today. Really awesome. I'm almost speechless after watching it.

I know everyone is going to read the preview anyway so I won't say that you shouldn't read it if you want any spoilers... wait, did I just say it?

Episode starts out with Cagalli engaging in battle with Shinn and Destiny. Cagalli attacks Shinn telling herself that if she don't shoot him down, nothing will be left. Cagalli starts attacking Shinn with all she has and Shinn starts attacking her too. Then some Murasame people goes: "Cagalli-sama!" -and throws away their own lives. Then Shinn starts working on Cagalli again. He shoots off his little positron cannon at Akatsuki but it's reflected back at him. He then shoots off his rifle at her; again, no effect.

Then Shinn goes: "How about this then!" *pulls out Excalibur sword* -and chops off Akatsuki's shield. Then he throws some boomerangs, cuts off an arm, and then, he throws yet another boomerang. Cagalli really is totally helpless. She totally surrenders herself to death when she realizes: "Wow, this boomerangs will kill me." -but, then, Minerva CIC goes: "Unknown mobile suits closing in!" -and wooosh comes Kira with Strike Freedom and Lacus with Infinite Justice (her pilot suit kicks ass!), Kira pulls up the railguns and blasts thoes boomerangs to smithereens.

Everyone goes like: *GASP* -when they see Freedom. Then Kira tells Murrue to take care of Lacus and to tell Cagalli to go to the National Security Headquarters (...or whatever...), then, Kira without any heistation goes for the kill on Shinn. He launches an attack at him instantly, Shinn hardly had time to react. They start fighting a bit and meanwhile, Lacus goes to the Archangel in Infinite Justice to hand it to Athrun.

Lacus meets up with Athrun in the Archangel mobile suit bay together with Meyrin(!). Meyrin goes like: "Lacus-sama....?" -not knowing anything about her beeing the real one, not that fake Meer. Athrun looks up at Infinite Justice and says: "Justice, huh?".

Then begins the Murrue vs. Talia, Archangel vs. Minerva battle.

Both ships prepare all their guns and shoots them off at eachother, both ships missing eachother only with inches.

Then we're back to the Kira vs. Shinn fight a bit once more. And finally, we get to see the true power of the combo rifles. It's almost Wing Zero-class on the gun (well, not really, but it's a hella huge beam).

It owns. And trust me, Destiny gets blown away quite far by that shot, eventhough it dosen't get damaged. Then, they decide to litterally pit guns against eachother, take a look. And for some reason, this reminds me of...

Zeta anyone? Where Kamille is fighting that guy down the base that is about to explode, that time. It's soo much copied from there.

Then half the episode passed. Now it's time for Cagalli to go kick Jona's (Yuuna's) ass at the Military HQ. She heads there in her more or less scrapped Akatsuki, and as she heads there, some sort of pod comes down from space... I wonder what's inside...

Then they go around kicking all ZAFT forces ass, then making their Unison Attack: Jet Stream Attack:

They littlerally crushing any resistance in their way.

Kira vs. Shinn fight continues, Murrue vs. Talia fight continues, ORB vs. ZAFT fight contines...

Cagalli arrives at the Military HQ to get some information about Djibril out from Jona (Yuuna) in order to capture Lord Djibril and 'end' this war (or whatever...).

Rey asks Shinn to retreat for the moment in order to resupply Destiny with new boomerangs and power up the guns. It would seem that the Nuclear Deuterion reactors is not the same as the Neutron Jammer Canceler reactors. It appears that Destiny needs to refule on deuterion/energy or something in order to continue fighting over long timespans.

Rey ended his transmission with Shinn, and Shinn headed back to the Minerva.

When Shinn then left, Kira had one of these strange premonitions again. He makes a: "Huh...?" -kind of noise, and looks up to the right, like he is searching for something in his memory. Kind of like the same way he felt that Neo was Mwu, he feels that Rey has a connection with Raw.

Then Kira heads off to help fend off the fight in ORB against ZAFT. Meanwhile, Cagalli meets up with Jona (Yuuna) and starts questioning him, but first, a little greeting...

I laughed my ass off once more because he got smacked. Oh goody. Then Cagalli tries to make him spill his guts about Djibril, but he dosen't know anything about where he is, except that he was at the Seiran's house. Then they get some groups out to search for him but everyone says that he is nowhere to be found. But one group has Djibril with them despite saying that he is nowhere to be found, and they have killed two ORB soldiers. LOGOS veins run deep it seems.

Then we're back to Athrun, Meyrin and Lacus, together with Infinite Justice. Don't really get the conversation, but Lacus has a little flashback where Lacus asks Kira, standing before Infinite Justice: "Will it really be OK giving this to Athrun, the way he is now...?" -Kira simply says: "Yes, I think so too. But, when the time comes where you want to do something, then not beeing able to do it, would be alot more hard, wouldn't it?"

Then Lacus quotes the words Uzumi said: "Strenght is only strenght. It might be true that you are only a fighter, but you are Athrun right?" - "I'm sure it's that way."

Then back on the Minerva. Destiny is fully refuled and rearmed and Shinn heads out to fight again. Rey stops Lunamaria as she is about to follow him and he says: "If you go out there now, it will worry him and dull his fighting abilities." - "Right now, you are only in the way for him." -then Rey leaves in Legend. Kira picks them up on the radar...

Back on the Archangel, Athrun is angsting about what to do and stuff. But, he has made his resolve; he [I]will fight.

"Athrun Zala, Justice, deru!"

Well if Zaft did go through with the Dom Project instead of the Zaku Project, Im sure they would have been very different, for starters I dont think that they would have had included beam sheilds and such. By the time Lacus and co got hold of what was left of the Dom Project they must have made heavy modifications, utilisation recent technology to update and make the Doms the way they are right now. And how awsome they are:cool .

I wished Kira would have choped Destiny's head off though, would be pretty fun.

The DOMs are crazy, I knoew they were going to use that Delta attack from the first time i saw them, it shows that clyne faction pilots have more brains then ZAFT :laugh .

Cagalli bitch slapping Jona should give extra boost of strenght to Athrun (he has to get back to her now, he misses her bitch slapping on him).

I guess you can say I still favor Shinn over Kira and hope people don't look down on him b/c he really is good lol...I still get the feeling that people feel like Shinn isnt that great when fighting Kira.

I say he is an almost equal match for him, and yay I knew Destiny would be the most agile suit lol.
He was flying around and such, seemed like Kira was having some trouble with Shinn until Rey told Shinn to back off.
Also did anyone notice they changed the OPs to S-F, I-J and Akatsuki
But yeah man...I loved the Shinn and Kira fight, mostly new scenes and it didn't seem like either suit was going to win. Although I believe Kira had the advantage because of his funnels and him being the superior pilot.

also I think its a gravity thing as well, they probably cant fly or propel themselves like tehy can in space.
So they might not even be that great if used.
i.e. Sword/Blast Impulse, Calamity, Gaia and Abyss, who couldn't fly at all on Earth but flew around easily in space.

also damn... lol Strike Freedom has an assload of firepower compared to Destiny.
I mean I know it had alot but after seeing that episode... Destiny has absolutely no firepower compared to Freedom.

Destiny owned Akatsuki and those Murasames. omg that was so awesome how S-F tossed up the guns before grabbing Destiny's Arondight sword, blasted him with the railguns and caught his guns as they were falling. The DOMs were also awesome.

I don't hate Shinn now, but it's about time someone kicked his ass (still hasn't quite happened) or else no one will get through to him that maybe what he is doing really isn't the right thing. He always likes to say in battle "you can't have things your way!", and now for once in this episode he can't have things his way and he gets all pissy. That slap in the face to his pride is the first step to what will probably be Shinn's eventual revelation and turn-around as a character.

The fight between him and Kira was cool though, and it looks like neither was holding back in the slightest (except for Kira not using the funnels but it's possible that he can't right now). The beam shields on S-F are unreal. I wonder if they can cover the whole MS since they use the same technology that covered all of Artemis and can change size depending on the situation. Took me like 8 minutes to type this on this stupid onscreen keyboard.

I think everybody agrees that Shinn can be brought back to the good by a fabulous ass-whooping. As many have said, I believe that Athrun is best suited to do this. First, Shinn is in the same position Athrun was two years ago and Athrun feels a strong older brother-like bond to Shinn. Second, Athrun must redeem himself for his past short-comings. Go Mugen Justice!

Wow, watched the RAW today when I saw the DOMs were in thanks to Mindless. Then I went to try to make a .gif of that split second where all three DOMs are heading towards the screen but my virtualdub couldn't open the RAW file for some reason. :crying

And not to mention the DOM's... I loved them. So awsome! Them doing that Jet Stream Attack and all. And I too, like NejiHinata, just loved that moment where they totally kicked the asses of thoes mobile suits, jumping around and all. Simply awsome!

I was very disappointed in Akatsuki though.
I mean that thing got trashed sorta in its first appearence.
It lost an arm and shield and was about to get destroyed ><

Is funny how milly and issiac?? {forgot how to spell their names.. are randomly put into destiny without a purpose.
I don't like how the character is being developed in destiny, they just throw out random characters out of no where. Yes, the action is great.. but they lost what they had in seed for character development. Actually, I just feel no growth in Shin, and sometimes.. he is just like heero yuy. Yes, shin has emotion and don't act like a robot like heero.. but his emotion comes from no where.. and being toyed by ray.. and shin just got super piloting skills out of nowhere... I mean.. through out seed... kira had trouble with his opponent, and he learned from it and improved.. but Shin just got super good now.. out of no where..

Despite Shinn Vs Cagalli having limited screentime, I was very happy with the way Akatsuki looked in this ep, it was given special "shiny gold armour" treatment, not just drawn plain gold. Im not sure sure they'll do that often though.

After watching the ep I noticed that Orb is going to need new emirs, before Cagalla/Akatuski landed at HQ, those Zaft mobile suits that were travelling underground travelled through the underground bunker/room where all the emirs were hiding and got crushed.:blink

I feel sorry for all the other people down in the bunk :sad They didn't deserve to die that way.

the episode just blew my mind... its the best so far... we got a lot of fun scenes in this ep... yuuna getting smacked... again, destiny vs freedom, I-J launching, DOM Troopers doing the Jet Stream Attack, Kira showing shinn how to catch a sword, Mwu/Neo back in his sky grasper and the best of all things in this week's ep, Lacus in the pink pilot suit...:amuse ahahaha!:laugh what more can you ask for an ep?!?

i assume that most of the main characters know that kira is the UC by the time GSD started...
On rey's facial expression, i think rey is angry at kira because he is blocking his and gilly's Destiny plan which will... uhm... ah! i know what the destiny plan is! they will legalize gay marriage in the whole earth and plant so that rey and gill can get married...:laugh
