I honestly think Shinn is going to crack up and make Rey have to come out and straighten him up mentally when he sees freedom again. Just imagine the thoughts going through your head when you see a near exact copy of the mobile suit you think you killed which made everyone think you are the best pilot ever come back from the grave. Let alone when he sees IJ possibly making him believe that Arthrun is alive also or some such. Either way will be a great episode :)

So if I am getting this right the new series isnt going to be another sequel to seed but go back to another franchise? Or are they going to start up another?

I don't know. He may at the very end, but right now Kira is still the strongest pilot with Shinn a close second. He can never rise above Kira with the mentality he has at the moment, that is if GSD has some kind of lesson or moral value. According to the model box it said he had already risen above all, but they probably didn't take Kira and Athrun into consideration seeing as how they didn't have their new mobile suits and they got beat by him already.

While i'm not one to stir the pot and turn this into a shinn vs kira. It stands to reason in berserker mode (undirected seed) shinn could quite possibly take down just about anyone in destiny and I doubt we will ever see kira return to the similar mind frame or heavy combat where he took on large forces in seed. Kira may be the more accurate and debatably stronger but the intent to kill with no regard for yourself is hard to combat and that said unless he goes for the kill he may still lose. Either way there will hopefully be a final showdown between these two instead of another repeat performance of the seed battle.

as for Shinn's abilities..I think he will be at Kira's level that Kira was at the end of SEED and begining of Destiny.
And before people pounce on me for saying Shinn will be as strong as Kira.
Kira will still be stronger, why? He is a newtype now, It's sorta like DBZ, Vegeta reaches Goku's level but the Goku gets stronger, but Vegeta is still 2nd strongest cuz he was is at Goku's level before a sudden change.

so I think the same will happen to Shinn and Kira.
Thus making Shinn the second strongest, and yes Athrun-fans lol better than Athrun.
So at the end of Destiny, Shinn will probably control his SEED, since it seems like more of a berserker mode.
and will be at Kira's level before Kira got his newtype powers.

But thats my opinion, however I'm almost sure thats how it will be.

Well Kira has shown that he is willing to kill for the greater good but this is also one of the reasons why I want to know what he really thinks about it, in one moment he follows it yet in another he seems to be your ordinary pilot. Now this would be understandable had he been a pacifist or an idealist but he his far from those, he knows that he will not bring about peace with just doing this. He was willing to use a weapon of mass destruction to complete his own goals and he does not seem to mind if they are building a powerful weapon as long as it will help achieve their goals. You certainly cannot call him a hypocrite because never did he once preached to other people to do this but I observed that he never does seem to care if he is going to be able to disable his enemies or not.

The battle will go like this.

Cagalli starts attacking Destiny with Akatsuki, then Shinn gets mad because he figures out that thoes beams bounces off that stupid golden mobile suit. Shinn will start screaming over the radio like: "OMG! Repaint that stupid thing! It's not even fun if I can't damage you!" -then Cagalli will remember that voice and go: "OMG!? It's you killing my fellow countrymen!? Die scum!" -then Cagalli goes SEED and totally whoops Shinn's ass for the moment untill he too goes into SEED. The fight is quite even at first, but since Shinn has greater experience in piloting mobile suits on a high level, he gets the advantage, putting Cagalli at a disadvantage. Then Shinn gets Cagalli into a situation so he can use his Excalibur Beam/Material Sword-charge + SEED mode on Cagalli's ass. And just as he is about to ram the sword trough Akatsuki, Kira pops out his cool funnels and blasts that stupid sword to smithereens. Then Kira starts working on Shinn and puts him at a great disadvantage. Rey goes out to help. Kira is still owning but is getting into trouble because fighting two very powerful mobile suits at one time is very hard. Then come Athrun in his brand new Infinite Justice and stops the battle for a while and asks Shinn over the radio: "What do you truely desire?" -and Shinn goes: *gasp* "Athrun...!?" -and the episode ends. :)

Ha you basically just gave a detailed explanation and circumstances surrounding the battles in my overview. We'll have to see if that all happens.

Episode 42 and 43 are seem to be more interesting. I-Justice/Athrun will might get Vestige insert song just like S-Freedom/Kira althought its not gonna have as dramatic entrance as Strike Freedom. but, actually Vestige song is for Kira/Strike Freedom. so, i highly doubt, I-Justice will get Vestige as its own image song. Kira will appear in Strike Freedom to save Cagalli from Shinn by the mid of episode 42. according to the spoilers, Kira will attack Destiny and Legend with tremendous power and at a crazy speed. the battle will come to an end by the "end" of episode 43 or before. Shinn and Rey will probably be retreat. I suspect Athrun turns up in IJ when Kira is facing Destiny and Legend and Athrun specifically asks Kira to let him deal with Destiny. Athrun WILL talk to Shinn, but seems like that will be a total waste. Shinn will go crazy as well as Athrun will go into seed mode. Kira will finish off Rey and go after Shinn to rescue. damn! i can't wait to see Kira kicking Shinn + Rey's @$$. i hope he will not get owned. meh..i heard, he takes on Destiny and Legend by himself.

The thing is, Athrun will not do much against Destiny althogh i want him to kick Shinn's @$$. just look at Athruns condition. he was shown in ep 40 as he was like a dead man. i don't see him kicking Shinn's butt unless Athrun fully recovers in episode 41. i beleive that he wanted to launch in I-Justice to save Cagalli and Kira. according to the spoiler for phase 43, Kira will fight hard against Destiny and Legend. Definatly Strike Freedom's entrance is going to be some flashy entrance. i think, Kira might even have to drop his NO-KILL-POLICY in that battle since he has to fight against the 2 ZAFT aces. so, i beleive Athrun will come and Save Shinn just when Kira is about to kill him. well, thats just my guess.

i slightly disagree. I know Rey has more of an attacthment to Gilbert, but he's still a friend to Shinn and Luna. Even though he doesn't show it, they still are friends, and they always will be. Eventually, yes, i do suspect Rey will betray them, but regardless of that, I think Rey will feel slightly guilty. So, he's not all that evil after all.

Do u guys think Destiny will be more than 50 episodes?? but,i don't think Destiny will go on further more than 50 episodes since the final weapon's already introduced. it's a GENESIS-like weapon that will be aimed at PLANT. IMO, everything is going fine. Kira/Athrun will talk about the war and stuff in the next episode. the battle in ORB will come to an end by the end of phase 43. episode 44 is about Lacus and Mia. mostlikly, Gillberts true intention will be revealed by either Lacus or Cagalli around phase 44-46 to all the ppl. Jibril should be in space by now which means the final battle has already started, tecnically..we already know that S-Freedom and I-Justice will have Meteors which means there will be also a NUKE battle. Kira and co will go to space right after the battle in ORB. final battle will start in episode 48, i think. it will come to THE end by the end of episode 50; obviously..i hope they will make an OVA or a MOVIE.

Looks like Athrun is gonna repeat episode 28 in his first debut in I-Justice. according to the spoilers, Shinn will not listen to Athrun which is pretty lame for Athrun. and then, Shinn goes crazy as he sees Athrun ghost is back to hunt him..lol. man! i can't wait to see the phase 42 and 43.

That 5 min thing was't even like an OVA. as i mentioned this in seedgenesis. an OVA should be more than 25 min long..and about the Athrun repeats episode 28. what i meant is that according to the spoilers, Athrun in Justice forces his way "between them", and tries to persuade Shinn not to attack Orb. my guess is that Athrun will come and save Shinn from Kira just when Kira is about to Destroy him. or morelike he will stop them from fighting each others which is kinda stupid, IMO.

Destiny can't beat S-Freedom or Freedom. Destiny is not even close to the half of the votes of S-Freedom although Destiny got lot more screen time than S-Freedom. S-Freedom appeared in the last 2 min of episode 39. but, look at its votes(18187 votes). i'm pretty sure, S-Freedom will take the first place replacing Freedom as #2 in the next Gundam Ace rating.

YES! i dont think shinn will die. i have hope for him! and i really dont want him to die. lol. no matter how arrogant he is. but yeah, i think athrun's little flashbacks about happy shinn was a clue to part of shinn's development. I think it means that Athrun believes shinn can change, because when he did some little digging on the minerva, he got to see a part of shinn's good side. and perhaps athrun believes that there is still hope to see more of that side of shinn. thats why he said 'no' or something, to cagalli,when she was saying theres no way for the war to end.

Also, im sure kira wont kill shinn. Athrun is there to stop him. Athrun knows that shinn is a good person deep down, and he only wants to bring that out in him. but just some of my thoughts...

Gundam X sucks, I watched the first episode and it was far to boring to hold my short attention span. If they do anything with the Gundam X universe, they should have it to where every human dies and leave it at that.

I am looking forward to whatever Gundam series they make next. I also hope that it touches upon more thought provoking topics, but I doubt it would gain a huge audience if it did that.

Truthfully, I liked Gundam W for the simplicity and thought it was neat how they made so much out of so little. Thinking back, it had a great many flaws stemming from the insanity of the main characters, but I also think that is what fueled some interest in it. I do remember discussing how crazy it was to stay in a burning building while the rest of the country was being destroyed.

I believe Gundam Seed follows the same principle as its plots aren't that complex and the themes aren't thought provoking as other animes (I thank god that it isn't Neon Genesis).

Gundam X is far from boring in my opinion. The only thing I dislike about Gundam X is that the end feels rushed. And the coolest thing by far is that the main character is not some guy with super powers. He is just an ordinary guy that tries his best.

Maybe you should go beyond episode 1 then. The worst episode 1 was Gundam ZZ by the way and Wing is the worst gundam series ever. The main character has no developpment (he's a robot for god sake with one stupid line that he dosn't even do). The leader female is an annoying stalker and the storyline dosn't flow. They royally screwed up Trieze and Zech in the end (a peacecraft to a man who wants to destroy the world in less then 5 episodes??? That's really rushed and messed up). The only thing good about that series is the mecha designs and Duo Maxwell.

On topic: What's wrong with Haro^2Tori^2 taking me ages to D/L episode 40...

I can't imagine Matt Hill doing a more serious and mature Kira in Destiny, but he was cast to do Kira again. Hell I couldn't even see him doing Kira in SEED (as talented as he is he doesn't fit as Kira). Murrue's english dub actress does not convey that motherly like voice and attitude well. Ah I can go on. I respect the heck out of VAs, but Bandai just did wrong casting with SEED and I'm sure Destiny won't be any better.

I kinda liked the original gouf... although its the 3D game versions that really I liked... the 3D game Goufs look a lot like Zaku IIs but had different shoulders and head... well i guess they resemble the gouf custom more...:amuse plus they have those heat rod whips and cool heat sabers... and when i play those games, i like to beat the hell out of those goufs using the Gundam hammer...:amuse

i kinda agree since the zakus don't have wizard packs designed for atmospheric flight... so they do suck in earth... but i think the zakus and goufs will just have a little advantage compared to the murasame in space... as i see it, murasames are something like saviour... they are more agile, maneuverable, and fast compared to the others... and they pack a considerable amount of weapons for a standard unit... what other mass prod MS can offer 4x missle launchers + 1 beam riffle + 1 beam cannon + 2 CIWS + beam saber?!? plus an MA form? hell... it just took 3 murasames to shoot down a gundam... no zaku, gouf nor windam has done that in GSD yet...:amuse and i think it almost like seed... the zaft mass prod ms(GuAIZ) was superior to everything else in space. but Orb's M1's were totally better than the strike daggers of EAF/O.M.N.I. Enforcers... the problem with the M1's was that they were totally outnumbered...

Hm... I think Kira had more of that: "I knew this wasn't going to be easy..."-look on his face, rather than: "Jesus christ! There is no way I can beat that!".

And as far as I know, Destiny has no trump card. Shinn has pretty much revealed everything Destiny can do on TV (*hint* Heaven's Base *hint*). They know it has thoes flashy mirage-colloid wings, which Strike Freedom also seems to have. They know it has that big ass Excalibur Material/Beam Sword. They know it has a positron cannon. They know it has thoes palm cannons.

Shinn on the other hand, has no idea what Strike Freedom is capable of, only that it looks alot like Freedom and that it probably has the same pilot as it. And not to mention, Kira can use his funnels inside the earths atmosphere while Rey can't with Legend.

Also, Kira will deliver Infinite Justice to Athrun in the next episode, so expect the tables to turn quite fast.

Akatsuki did not stand a chance, even being a technically superior mobile suit. I mean, being invicible to lasers, positrons and etc. is a hell lot of advantage. Cagalli got hit over 4 times. Uzumi is a genius its a perfect mobile suit for cagalli that is reckless but have a nice and sharp shot.

Alright, preview time. It wont be a very long preview since it was just talk from Athrun (first half of the episode) and from Kira (second half of the episode).

Episode starts out with you seeing Athrun laying down in the sickbed on the Archangel. Then Athrun starts talking.

"I should have known the cruelness of war, that is why I remained in ORB, to stop this war." - "Yet, yet why..." - "It's true that I might have been hesitating. Or that I hated myself because I was unable to do anything, but... there should've been something I could have done!" - "Was it all because I was too lenient...? Getting Meyrin involved, and in the end, not beeing able to do anything." ...

Then we had the intro with the new and alot cooler scenes. And for some reason, at the last scene where you see Athrun, Kira and Shinn infront of their respective gundams, Strike Freedom's golden joints glow suprisingly bright for some reason. :P

Then the talking starts once more, and Athrun speaks of how he might have been searching for a 'peaceful' (don't really know the word 'meikaku', think it means peaceful...) answer, and that is why he followed the Chairmans words, and how he once again took up the 'sword' (Saviour in this case) and fought. And how he believed that all this would bring this foolish war to an end quickly with as few sacrifices as possible. And that he Kira (when interfering in the battles between ZAFT and the EA) only threw the battlefield into confusion, and didn't really help out with anything.

He couldn't understand Kira. Their paths should never clash again (like in SEED), but should have headed in the very same direction, but they ended up fighting eachother.

Really quite hard to make a preview of this episode since it jumps between so many different episodes in the anime all the time. Anything from episode 23 to episode 38. Really hard. Anyway, Gilbert now speaks of his ideal world as he gives Shinn Destiny and Athrun Legend. And Athrun thinks that while Gilberts words may soothe your heart, and that they sounded so right. And that he didn't escape or flee from ZAFT, but that he only wanted to know the truth behind all this, that he only wanted to have something to believe in.

Then we're off to Kira's part of the episode. It starts out with Kira saying:

"Ever since that day, when Lacus was assaulted by that special assasination group, I have been once more piloting a mobile suit." - "And that I now again, in order to protect Lacus and the Eternal, headed for the skies." - "No matter how many tears that is shed, or how much blood that is spilled, the war will end right?" - "The only thing that is left is endless pain and never ending hate." - "And so, at the peak of the battle, the 'sword' called Freedom was shattered." - "You said it right Athrun? That ZAFT were fighting in order to end this foolish war as soon as possible, and that we on the Archangel, only threw the battlefield into confusion." - "But was it really so?" - "I do understand what you are trying to say but... that time when Lacus was assaulted, I felt that something tremendously large was lurking in the shadows of this war." - "Why did ZAFT attack the Archangel? And why are they now trying to shoot down the Eternal?" - "But Athrun, I am not able to believe in the chairmans words like you did." - "Because, is it really necessary to spill this much blood in order to create a world without war?"

Then we're off to that new scene U_I spoke of. Klueze said that: "Now there is no more stopping it! The blood with flow, and the tears shed will bring forth new conflict!"

Then there is alot of talking I didn't really understand. Oh well. Then he starts talking again.

"It is true that the only thing me and you might be able to do is fight, and from battle, nothing will be born." - "But Lacus and Cagalli together with everyone is trying their best in order to set the future straight." - "Anyone who gets in the way of that, shouldn't they be unforgivable?" - "That is why I'm fighting."

"Sometime, when all conflicts have ended, where people are able to laugh freely and be happy, we are here in order to make this happen... right, Athrun...?"

Then the episode ended. In my opinion, a very good episode. I just want the subbed version. I understood pretty much all of it, but in the end, subtitles do help alot.

Did you see the part where he actually charges at Kira like he wasn't affraid of Kira, if I was fighting someone like Kira, I would be more careful and not underestimating my opponet like that, charging head first isn't a wise decsion. It is very insulting when you have a pilot, like Shinn that doesn't understand Kira is a tough pilot to beat, sure he totally trashed Kira's Freedom early but Shinn made devised a plan to fight Kira. Kira on the other hand looks worry about fight Shinn, and thats a normal response. Since, Shinn proved himself time and time again.

For a pilot to rush in reckless like Shinn in the previews, it shows the fact that Kira is reguarded as a nobody. I am not saying Shinn is a bad pilot, he is awsome. I like the whole thing with Material Blade on Destiny!!!

We don't know why Kira had a surprised look on his face. It could have been from seeing Destiny's power for the first time or Legend pushing him back from defeating Destiny. If Shinn was whooping Kira's ass I don't see the need for Rey to come in and tag team Kira before Athrun arrives. We'll have to wait and actually see the episode, but the spoilers point to Kira having the upper hand.

No, I did see your post. In response to that, I think Kira isn't given more credit on his piloting skills. If you were a great fighter, and you had someone ,who was a recently acknowedged as a great fighter, that doesn't insulting things such as attacking him head on. You can agrue about the part when Shinn first fought with Kira that Shinn keep chasing him. However, at least Shinn did a plan before doing that. I just think Shinn shouldn't be so reckless like charging Kira like that. Its very insulting I think.:smile-big

As for the preiview, I think Kira will handle the situation fine. He'll come in, start whooping Shinn's butt, then Rey will come in and he will have newtype reaction ( iam guessing that what he's wide eyes is about) and then they will try to gang up on him. Then Athrun will show up and go "Guess What I AM BACK! Time to take out the trash" and then Athrun and Kira will start seriously kicking their butts, AA will use Lohen Green and blast half of the Zaft fleet into smiterins and they will run away. :laugh

Although GSD does a better job with recap, recaps are still pretty boring with 90% of it content recycled. The sad part of the fact is that all most all japanese animes have them. Lousy way to make a quick buck.:darn
