Destiny Gundam
ZGMF-X42S Destiny, like Impluse and others, is catagorized as a "Second Generation" suit. As opposed to X56S's (*) changing Silhouette according to the battle field, Destiny was designed to meet any/all kinds of situations by armed with the corresponding equpiments from the start. It is also the newest power source engine "Hyper Duetrion" that made this vision come true. This engine is a hybrid of the original Duetrion and Nuclear Power, allows great mobility increase when the thrusters go full force, and allowing the creation of multiple visual images when moving in fast speed. These images are made possible by spreading Mirage Colloid and creating a 3D visual of the original machine in the surrounding space. The Junius Accord placed restriction on the usage of Nuclear Power and Mirage Colloid, and this shows that in reality the Accord itself has been nullified. By having Shinn Asuka, the only person that's able to bring out its full potential, as the pilot of this "Complete MS", it's possible to say that Destiny had indeed become the strongest MS in the history.

Unable to prevent the death of his family, this young man, infused with anguish and rage, became a soldier who takes away other's lives. Unable to protect those he wished to protect, this feeling drove him in seeking for "Power". But there were no one he can protect on the battlefield, so he could only hold on to his rage and bring down his "enemies". Then, the young girl Stellar Loussier appeared. His unfulfilled feelings were directed to her. However, even this faded into nothingness as well. With the loss of "Protector" and the "Protectee", he replaced them with something else, which are being the pilot of the "Absolute Power" and Gilbert Dullindal's "Absolute Justice". With both unwavering "Power" and "Conviction", Shinn Asuka rises above all as the strongest pilot.

But saying that Destiny is the perfect mobile suit? I wonder. We have yet to see Strike Freedom in action, nor any indepth specs of it (engine for example, but I do believe it uses the same type of energy as Destiny), so we can't really tell. Hopefully after the episode on saturday, some things will clear up a little after we see Strike Freedom in action for it's first time.

I do believe that is based off the fact that S-Freedom and I-Justice have not appeared yet. Afterall that comes out of a model booklet and the S-Freedom and I-Justice models don't come out until August. If the engine they use is suppose to be several times more powerful than Freedom I'm very curious as to how they would show that.

Well hey! At least everyone can be assured that Destiny Gundams "wings of light" dont just activate itself when Shinn is in seed mode. They can be used at anytime! Shinn uses it most of the time in seed mode becasue he knows thats when he's able to use it properly cause of all the super speed the wings give.

On a side note the whole "Hyper Duetrion" engine being a hybrid of the original Duetrion and Nuclear Power sounds really cool.

I cant wait to see what kind of engine S-Freedom and I-Justice are going to have.

I don't see anything pointing to Shinn being the Strongest. Right now he's the stongest, but approximately 24 hrs later... I guess he wouldn't be. Enishi/Shishio were stronger than Kenshin was. It took him his will to win, to defeat both. And Kira has a history of defeating suits with an outdated one. Just being able to pwn with an outdated suit is gold, If Kira is not the best, Why does he pwn with Strike Rouge the next ep. Believe me, Shinn is good, but to say he's the best is ridiculous. In the eyes of the PLANT public, He may be the best. And this Strongest MS thing, It's all about advertisment. And Gilbert personally said that Destiny and Legend are the most powerful, meaning he does not know crap about S-Freedom and I-Justice

Saw it on Ebay, I searched "Strike Freedom Gundam" and one of the pre-sellers had the box art as a picture. That seller also had Destiny for pre-order and the box. Both have crappy CG as the artwork. The other HG models had far better artwork on the boxes.

On display were various works on three themes expounded on in Gundam: war, evolution, and life. I have the one on Boxtorrents. Thats .ogg, but the quality is ok. The subs seem abit like Engrish at times though. And one episode just didn't work. But thats about the only things wrong with it.

Actually Enishi and Shishio were never stronger then Kenshin, just that Kenshin was using a reverse blade so his attacks (which are seriously deadly with a real blade) would only give them some broken bones rather then do it's actual effect. That's why Kenshin vs. Shishio was a Kenshin win from the onset as if it was with a real sword then Shishio would have been choped flesh even before Kenshin came to "amakakeru no hirameki". The only person who can over power Kenshin is none other then Serjiro Hiko (and only him).

The same techinique is being used on Kira, he is the strongest but him not wanting to kill people makes other able to challenge. So he's not wanting to kill is similiar to Kehin having a reverse blade sword. If Kira ever get's serious in a battle his opponant has no chance of servival.

Hum, I wonder what that other new MS is about and I wonder who is piloting it, I am certain it won't be Lacus, it's not like her to fight in MS. So I am hoping either it's Mew/Neo on Golden Gaia (just for 1 episode) or Bartefield on it. If it's totally new, then I hope it's Yzak with a newer Duel type gundam. Then we can have the 3 Gundam Alliance, Yzak, Athrun and Kira on the side battlefield and same side with Dearka on the bg = Total Annilation of ennemy force. :laugh

Oh god. I'm trembling. I can't wait to write about the part with Kira in Strike Freedom. It's beyond awsome. Anyway.

Well, well, well. Great episode today. Starts out with Dacosta (the guy under Waldfelts command in SEED) visiting Colony Mendel for some information, information about none other than Gilbert Dullindal. Apparently he was a scientist at the Mendel Colony. So anyway.

Dacosta heads back to the Eternal after finding the information they needed.

Back on the Eternal, Waldfelt tells Lacus about how Heaven's Base has fallen, and wonders why ORB will be the next target. She answered: "Because ORB is a strong country..." -and that is something Gilbert fears. Then Lacus pulls something up on a small sceen on the captains seat on the Eternals bridge. A profile of Gilbert. Then she pulls something else up. Some guy that dosen't look like a nice guy, take a look for yourselves.

I believe that is the person behind all of this. Junius-7 dropping onto earth, the real leader of LOGOS, and so on.

Anyway.

Back on earth, in ORB on the Archangel. Murrue is talking with this mechanic guy whos name I can't remember. Kira starts talking to Murrue as the mechanic guy left. Murrue thinks he looks tired, or rather, tense. Kira gets a bit embarassed and says: "Ah... uhm..." -but Murrue tells him not to worry, and that everyone is feeling the same about the whole situation, since Heaven's Base fell. Kira then says: "I might be a little afraid infact... Athrun ending up like that... and it feels like I'm powerless and can't do anything... like this, I (we) can't protect anything."

EDIT: Crap, finished half way, I'll continue now...

So anyway.

Then we're off to the infirmary aboard the Archangel, where Athrun is laying in his bed, and Mwu watching the news about how Heaven's Base was destroyed.

Cagalli comes into the room and starts talking with Athrun about things. She asks him how he feels.

Athrun: "It feels like I'm on the verge of death, but unfortunately... it looks like I'm alright."

Cagalli: "Don't say that... no one is happy about all this..."

Athrun: "I'm sorry..." - "How's Meyrin...?"

Cagalli: "Right now she has a slight fever, but she's alright. Milly was able to talk to her a bit I heard."

Athrun: "I see..."

Cagalli: "She was on the Minerva, wasn't she?"

Athrun: "Yeah... she saved me..." - "Yet... I've never really talked to her..." - "...and I got her involved in all of this..."

Cagalli: "I'm sure she likes you." - "Don't worry, I'll look after her."

Then Cagalli asks if Athrun will forgive her for her supposed-to-be-marrige with Jona. But Athrun simply asked: "You wanted to protect it right...? ORB..." -then Athrun starts rambling a little how he might have been hasty, and angry with himself for not beeing able to do anything. How Cagalli was working untill she was on the verge of breaking and I just did nothing. And then Junius-7... how he really wanted to stop it all, but wasn't able to.

Then Cagalli wonders if this is all LOGOS' fault. But Athrun says: "No... thats not it. Definately." -as you see some flashbacks of Gilbert and Shinn.

Then we're off to space again. Dacosta has now returned to the Eternal with the documents they had searched for. And they discovered something interesting in one of Gilbert's notebooks: Destiny Plan -didn't really understand all what was said since it was a bit complicated. But it was something like: "The Destiny Plan that Dullindal speaks of... bla bla bla... feelings. But we won't forget. Humans do not live for the sake of the earth. The place where humans live, that is the earth." -it is quite safe to say that this Destiny Plan is the whole thing Gilbert has been doing all along. Manipulating Shinn, and decieving everyone in PLANT and on the earth.

Apparently they had followed Dacosta and his shuttle. Andy says he'll leave in Gaia (no, they never stole it, they built one of their own). But Lacus tells Andy to wait. And that if they have found us now, it's only a matter of time before they discover our operations here. She also thinks that they've been keeping an eye on the Mendel Colony.

Lacus: "I was careless..."

Dacosta: "No, thats...!"

Andy: "No, the one who was careless was this guy...!" *grabs hold of Dacosta*

Andy: "But what are we going to do? We can't have them discover our Mobile Suit Factory here, we're not even through the 1st stages of preparations. If we get attacked, we wont be able to protect it."

Lacus: "We'll launch the ship, right now."

So, they launch the Eternal from the asteroid where they have the Mobile Suit Factory to intercept the ZAFT forces approaching (four Nasca-class ships).

Back on earth. They get a message on the Archangel that the Eternal has been discovered and that they have launched into space. Murrue tells Kira to come to the bridge.

Murrue: "We don't know what kind of forces they have up there, but if re-entering the atmosphere is not possible, they will drop a pod (with Strike Freedom in it)."

Cagalli: "Pod...?"

Then they get a message from the infirmary. It's Mwu. He says: "They guy in the bed next to me is a bit noisy. Saying stuff like: "Kira, go!"."

Athrun: "Protect Lacus... no matter what... Kira!"

Mwu: "He's saying: "If we loose her, everything will end." -right?"

Kira: [I]"Cagalli, lend me Rouge, and prepare the booster!"

Now something funny actually happened. I was about to laugh my ass off.

Murrue says: [I]"So, you remember the bridge transmission code?"

Mwu: [I]"Eh... *cuts connection*

So, they prepare the booster for Strike Rouge to use to be able to exit the atmosphere. At the same time up in space, the ZAFT forces intesify the attack upon the Eternal. Andy decides to go out in Gaia.

And I'll tell you, Andy's Gaia kick ass! Just look at the color!

Then something approaches on the radar. It's Kira in Strike Rouge with the booster-pack on (huge thing by the way). Then Kira disconnects Strike Rouge from the booster and starts kicking major ass. I've never seen him that good in Strike before. Oh well. He blocks a positron cannon shot with Strike and both arms are destroyed. Andy tells him to pick up his unit inside the Eternal. Kira heads for the Eternal, and just as he enters the ship, the legs on Strike Rouge gets blown off.

Then he jumps out of the scrapped Strike Rouge and meets Lacus inside and hugs her a bit and speaks some well chosen words. But they don't have time for hugging. It's time to bring out the heavyarms:

Kira: "Thank you. With this, I can finally fight... my battle."

Lacus: "Kira..."

Kira: "Wait for me to return, then lets return, to where everyone is." (Yes, they will go down to earth with the Eternal)

Lacus: "Yes..." (on the verge of crying)

And I'll tell you, everytime I hear the Vestage song as Kira starts up Strike Freedom, I get chills going down my spine. It's so fucking cool.

Lacus (over speakers on the catapult deck): "X-20A Strike Freedom, you are clear to launch."

Kira: "Kira Yamato, Freedom, launching!"

the thing with that was that they were created to be equal to Shinn and C:o so we could see his development in power.. and those druggies were stronger than any normal fighter.

all i can say is Strike Freedom=Overkill !!! it makes Destiny appear like a generic MS.

I'm saying this now! There will be a mobile suit introduced in the last two episodes that can match strike freedoms power otherwise Kira wont have a challege and this series will end badly! its as if S-Freedom has everything i really am in aww of its power and am still wondering how anything Dullindal has can beat it.

after watching some of the UC gundam series i find the story in SEED and GSD a bit juvenile and irrationally idealistic, its as if its aimed at a younger audiance, and nothing pisses me off more than irrational naive idealism (who can guess which characters from GSD piss me off, i'll rep you if get them right)

Oh god. I'm trembling. I can't wait to write about the part with Kira in Strike Freedom. It's beyond awsome. Anyway.

Well, well, well. Great episode today. Starts out with Dacosta (the guy under Waldfelts command in SEED) visiting Colony Mendel for some information, information about none other than Gilbert Dullindal. Apparently he was a scientist at the Mendel Colony. So anyway.

Dacosta heads back to the Eternal after finding the information they needed.

Back on the Eternal, Waldfelt tells Lacus about how Heaven's Base has fallen, and wonders why ORB will be the next target. She answered: "Because ORB is a strong country..." -and that is something Gilbert fears. Then Lacus pulls something up on a small sceen on the captains seat on the Eternals bridge. A profile of Gilbert. Then she pulls something else up. Some guy that dosen't look like a nice guy, take a look for yourselves.

I believe that is the person behind all of this. Junius-7 dropping onto earth, the real leader of LOGOS, and so on.

Anyway.

Back on earth, in ORB on the Archangel. Murrue is talking with this mechanic guy whos name I can't remember. Kira starts talking to Murrue as the mechanic guy left. Murrue thinks he looks tired, or rather, tense. Kira gets a bit embarassed and says: "Ah... uhm..." -but Murrue tells him not to worry, and that everyone is feeling the same about the whole situation, since Heaven's Base fell. Kira then says: "I might be a little afraid infact... Athrun ending up like that... and it feels like I'm powerless and can't do anything... like this, I (we) can't protect anything."

EDIT: Crap, finished half way, I'll continue now...

So anyway.

Then we're off to the infirmary aboard the Archangel, where Athrun is laying in his bed, and Mwu watching the news about how Heaven's Base was destroyed.

Cagalli comes into the room and starts talking with Athrun about things. She asks him how he feels.

Athrun: "It feels like I'm on the verge of death, but unfortunately... it looks like I'm alright."

Cagalli: "Don't say that... no one is happy about all this..."

Athrun: "I'm sorry..." - "How's Meyrin...?"

Cagalli: "Right now she has a slight fever, but she's alright. Milly was able to talk to her a bit I heard."

Athrun: "I see..."

Cagalli: "She was on the Minerva, wasn't she?"

Athrun: "Yeah... she saved me..." - "Yet... I've never really talked to her..." - "...and I got her involved in all of this..."

Cagalli: "I'm sure she likes you." - "Don't worry, I'll look after her."

Then Cagalli asks if Athrun will forgive her for her supposed-to-be-marrige with Jona. But Athrun simply asked: "You wanted to protect it right...? ORB..." -then Athrun starts rambling a little how he might have been hasty, and angry with himself for not beeing able to do anything. How Cagalli was working untill she was on the verge of breaking and I just did nothing. And then Junius-7... how he really wanted to stop it all, but wasn't able to.

Then Cagalli wonders if this is all LOGOS' fault. But Athrun says: "No... thats not it. Definately." -as you see some flashbacks of Gilbert and Shinn.

Then we're off to space again. Dacosta has now returned to the Eternal with the documents they had searched for. And they discovered something interesting in one of Gilbert's notebooks: Destiny Plan -didn't really understand all what was said since it was a bit complicated. But it was something like: "The Destiny Plan that Dullindal speaks of... bla bla bla... feelings. But we won't forget. Humans do not live for the sake of the earth. The place where humans live, that is the earth." -it is quite safe to say that this Destiny Plan is the whole thing Gilbert has been doing all along. Manipulating Shinn, and decieving everyone in PLANT and on the earth.

Did you notice that when kira had the NT Flash, He seemed to have commanded the Dragoons. telling them to Hit. another thing didn't you remember the 25 Zakus in 2 mins comment, something like 9 DOMs in 3 minutes.

And I also forgot to mention: Kira never used the combo-rifle. Only one in each hand. I wonder if they both are too powerful to be used in such 'easy' situations. And yeah, about the funnels. They did seem to obey his commands. Like he thought: "Disable the ships completely." -and the funnels did just that.

how in hell can i describe ep 39??? damn... its the best GSD episode to date! first i thought kira will wipe out the whole zaft group using strike rouge IWSP... but when he engaged the PS armor we see good old strike back in service... he goes to space using the booster then releases the booster then engages aile strike then he started shooting down zakus and stuff... YEAH! 3 cheers for Strike for taking out some zakus!!! :clap then he gets strike mauled by blocking the zaku's plasma cannon with his shield... arms go boom then the riffle goes to andy, in a red colored gaia... :blink i was like: WTF?!? GAIA?!? RED?!? he goes to eternal but gets the legs blasted before he gets in... and then... we see STRIKE FREEDOM!!! YEAH! :whoo :whoo :whoo kira launched but still said freedom... but when he got out, all hell broke loose... we start to see headless or armless or whatever-less goufs and zakus but when 2 goufs got his arms, he lauched the funnels... a few more goufs and zakus then he went total berserk with "FIRE ALL WEAPONS TILL EVERYONE IS GONE" mode... but what is really the best scene there is when kira totally lost it... :amuse he gone newtype mode and whooped 3 nazcaa class asses :bow

after watching 39, all that i can say is WOW... :amazed i can't wait to get tomorrow's cellphone sub and next week's ep 40!!! YAY!!! :whoo can't wait to see akatsuki and athrun in a gouf in action

Actually ... this is just a theoretical guess:

I read over the spoiler thread. It says that in episode 40, Cag will confront Shinn with her new ms. While confronting Shinn, she is encountering heavy damage until Kira arrives. Afterwards, it says that Cag will ask Yunna where the whereabout of Djibril. Therefore, Im guessing that Kira defeats Shinn and Cag returns to Orb and confronts Yunna. So im guessing SF>Destiny

You shouldnt really have that much of an expectation outa Cag. The best she ever did in a MS was when she went Seed and shoot down missles. Seeing how the preview of 40 shows a lot of Cag crying, dont get ur hopes up 2 much.

I think when a character is given a new MS, fans overjoy and overestimate (like when Athrun got Saviour and did jack shyt). So yeah, i think that principle applies to Cag as well

I really hope my theory is correct bc i really wnna see Shinn's expression hitting right back at him. Everytine he goes berserk and go seed mode (which he prolly isnt even aware of it), he portrays himself as invincible and CANNOT be stopped. In addition I think Shinns getting the impression that if he stops and think about his sister/Stellar, he gains immortality and thinks nothing will happen to him (like when he didnt think twice about destroying Freedom and the effect of destroying a nuclear engine=KABOOM)

I have a feeling that somewhere in the battle between Shinn and Kira, Athrun prolly be the one saving Shinn's ass (prolly pleading to Kira not kill Shinn). Kira prolly will get pissed off at the person operating Destiny bc its direct attack on Cag. Seeing how the previous ppl that operated a gundam and were antagonist, they were all killed. Hm... what can I say, Strike Freedom is awsome. Beyond great. I've rewatched the part where Kira kicks ass surely 15 times by now.

About Athrun coming into the battle and getting all sympathetic with Shinn wont happen. Shinn not only almost killed Kira, he endangered Meyrin's life, and indirectly tried to kill her, aswell as Athrun himself. Athrun, with his strong sense for justice and whats wrong or right, wont go soft on Shinn if they do meet in battle, trust me on that one.

And about Cagalli crying in the next episode, only thing I could come up with was that Kisaka said that: "Your fathers final wish was that you carried out the ideals of this country, and protected thoes ideals with this Mobile Suit... Akatsuk." -and she started crying. I don't think she's crying because ZAFT is attacking ORB. I think she will be out on the battlefield with a very resolute attitude, not the cry-baby crap we've seen so far in Destiny.

Even if she does get into trouble, Kira, with Strike Freedom along with the Eternal will decend into the atmosphere and head to ORB to help out. With the Archangel, Eternal and possibly some other ORB ship, along with Strike Freedom, Mugen Justice and Akatsuki wont give ORB away to ZAFT that easily, trust me.

Cagalli wont get beaten by Shinn. That would be the worst thing that could ever happen. She gets a totally awsome new mobile suit, and the first thing she does is go mess it up? No way in hell.

But I just can't help but smile. Each time I see Strike Freedom inside the Eternal, and each time I hear Vestage kicking in in the background, I get this ear-to-ear smile. A strange feeling. :laugh

I hope somehow in the end they help Shinn, because from what I saw in 38 when Athrun kept saying "he", he was talking about Shinn.
Athrun doesn't want Shinn dead, in fact, I think Shinn is in the same position as Athrun in SEED and Athrun might know that and wants to help him.
So in the end I'm hoping Shinn is helped and becomes good sorta.

Somehow I also see Gilly and Talia dying together, or ending up together, but not one alive and one dead.

Now Athrun won't go soft with Rey, but with Shinn and Lunamaria he will try to get to them without fighting. He might get to Lunamaria easier than Shinn though. But might fight Shinn if he doesn't convince him.

I see it like this also lol, Athrun convinces Lunamaria, she leaves Rey is like "You're going to betray us too?" and he shoots at her and Shinn saves her.
Shinn then realizes what he is doing and blah blah.

Man was it good to watch fresh animation of Freedom in the form of S-Freedom. Especially the Strike! The funny thing about Strike Rouge was that Kira must have done a quick re-programing to replace Cagalli's custom colours with the Strike's original colours :amuse

BTW Unlike most of the couples in GS, it seems that Kira and Lacus dont need to exchange a Kiss. Just seeing them together seems to give the same effect.

Well, Destiny may very well indeed be the most powerful suit, but as you said, it all comes down to the pilot. Strike Freedom dosen't feature the Deuterion-engine that Destiny uses, thus not beeing able to leave that light-trail of mirage colloid particles. But still, I bet Strike Freedom is alot more powerful than Destiny. And with the current Kira in it, he will be unstoppable.

This episode kicked the ass of just about any episode of Destiny so far. And not just because of the degree of awesomeness S-Freedom displayed( which I'm sure we've all seen a good few thousand times). We also see some of Andy's skills with Gaia. And Kira in the Strike once again. Who knew P-Shift came in different colors? And Mwu seems to remember a bit about the Archangel, at least enough to contact the bridge. Now back Kira and S-Freedom. :) :)

At the end when Kira had his newtype flash the DRAGOONs released and you saw this energy being emitted from S-Freedom's wings in place of the DRAGOONs (you didn't see it the first time he released them but he did glow gold). I don't know what is in S-Freedom, but since Kira controls the funnels (tired of using DRAGOONs) with his mind there probably is something in there that senses his emotions. Sort of like Nu's psycho frame.

Hm... I guess I'd compare him to Kamille, since I don't know how Amuro or Char awakened their abilities. Kamilles powers remained dormant for quite long, but he did have them so he could sense things coming out on the battlefield. Then later, he fully awakened his powers and became very powerful. What we saw Kira do in this episode wasn't anything special really, but it did show us that he had newtype powers, because the funnel users in the old UC gundams got a newtype flash each time they used their funnels (I think, don't really remember).

About what Chillin said regarding the wings. They did indeed emit some sort of particle-wings like Destiny does. If that is some kind of reaction to his newtype response, then it's quite safe to say that Strike Freedom uses something similar to the Nu's psycho frame, or a system like the V2 did in Victory where he could extend the wings using his powers.

on another note has anyone got some good pics of akatsuki? as the pictures from the anime are a bit hard to see any detail and i want to see what kind of armaments it has. What Inquisitor is saying is that rather than take on the argument, this person directly attacks those that disagree with him at times. It would be a waste of time to argue against his points because the author shows no respect to those who he argues against. Wow what an episode, you can tell the production team thought alot about this episode with the amount of detail they put into the ep, like having strikes rouge in strikes colours but still carrying the pink tinted rouge shield! The epsiode seemed to contain loads of information as well, with scenes on minerva, eternal and archangel, and importnat mini conversations happening between loads of people. Not sure how they packed it all in! I knew I would eventually say it, but the opening is already growing on me. I think once the shock of how different it was to all the other openings had gone, and you knew what to expect, it actually is pretty good! Regarding the quality of the episodes, I too hope they will continue like this, because this one was splendid. Great animations and details.

I found it slightly humorous, but nothing to write home about. Also, I resent being labelled as a "generic Shinn hater"; I do not hate Shinn. I have always supported my qualms about his character with reasonable assertions and facts.

Umm, isn't that the terrorist from the beginning of the series who was leading some ZAFT mobile suit pilots as they dropped Junius 7. He has the same scar (the one on the nose) and the same hair, if I remember correctly. Also notice the Junius 7 picture in his deleted profile. Methinks that the fact that his profile is deleted reflects a cover up on Dullindal's part.

I read it, and it had its moments of humor, but they were normally at the expense of someone else, and I dislike degrading people for my own personal pleasure. Also, I am not angry about anything.

Im pretty certain that S-Freedom and I-Justice use nuclear power like there predecessors. There just using a new type of nuclear powered engines that gives them several times more efficiency than Freedom and Justice.

Gunnery United Nuclear-Deuterion Advanced Maneuver acryonym is only used in Destiny Gundam. Legend Gundam uses the same GUNDAM acryonym as Provindence, Freedom and Justice as its not powered by a Hyper-Deuterion Nuclear Engine.
IMO instead of Legend they should have just called it Providence MkII. :P

Maybe everyone thought Kira was the only successful ultimate co-ordinator survived, but Gilly secretly made his own ultimate co-ordinator named shin. However, inorder to acquire world domination, he removed some intelligent gene from shin so he can manipulate him easily. Maybe there are certain word that he uses to make him more influencial.. just like stellar is sensitive to the word death.

Not really ... it's a coincidence that Shinn and Gill met. If Orb was attacked, if Orb didnt fall, if Shinn's parents didnt die, if Shinn's sister didnt die, if Shinn didnt meet that officer (who later helped him take a position as a refugee status from ORB) ... However, i do agree that there is something special about Shinn. We know that Gill is awared of it and taking it as his advantage (there was a question why Shinn got to pilot Impluse rather than Rey). It's really something to think about bc Klueeze stated that Kira is the ONLY UC, but that was b4 Shinn moved to ZAFT. But who knows ...

Canard Pars was a member of the Earth Alliance's Eurasian Federation and pilot of the CAT1-X1/3 Hyperion Gundam Unit 1 until the end of the war in September C.E. 71. He was a failed prototype of the same "Ultimate Coordinator" project that produced Kira Yamato, the only that survive. To prove that he wasn't such a failure after all, he went on a quest to kill Kira.

When the Earth Alliance acquired the N-Jammer Canceller technology, Canard was determined to upgrade his mobile suit with it, so that he would have no constraints on his "Armure Lumiere" beam barrier. He fought against Al Da Flaga clone Prea LeVeri, pilot of the YMF-X000A Dreadnought, trying to obtain the N-Jammer Canceller several times. Canard later destroyed Hyperion Unit 2, piloted by Balsam Arendo when he deserted the Alliance. He then refitted his Hyperion Unit 1 with a N-Jammer Canceler and nuclear engine that he got from Hyperion Unit 2.

In the end, Canard was defeated by Prea, but didn't die; Prea protected him from the explosion of Hyperion's overloading reactor and apparently died shortly after due to flaws in the cloning process. However, it was later found out that Prea had faked his own death, in order to convince Canard to give up his quest and get on with his life.

Canard shortly thereafter switched sides to the Junk Guild and piloted the rebuilt Dreadnought Gundam, the YMF-X000A/H Dreadnought H.

Shortly after the end of the Bloody Valentine War, Canard finally sees Kira Yamato at Reverend Malchio's orphanage. As Canard rushes towards an unaware Kira, finally being able to fulfill his goal of killing him, he suddenly stops, looks into Kira's eyes, turns around and walks away, finally deciding to abandon his quest and move on with his life.

He then makes an appearance in the new (apparently final) manga of Gundam SEED, Gundam SEED Destiny Astray

storywise at the moment i think GSD could go anywhere, I think its very likely that there could be another ultimate co-ordinator around, someone to challenge Kira perhaps, people seem a bit obssesive with the fact that Kira is the ONLY ultimate co-ordinator but frankly I see no other way Fukada could create someone who could challenge Kira in S-freedom. All i'm saying is that this series could go anywhere as Gills intentions are not known and many of that characters have shady pasts.

Don't think they are related. He is more like the CE version of Heero Yuy... with a bit more personality... (making him better then the robot in gay shorts boy).

I don't think Kira will need a rival in Destiny. Simply because he will be kicking Gil's butt (who will be protected by a shit load of MS). In the process he will probably have a one on one encounter with Ray. But yeah like I said with it's armament I expect to see Freedom going against all MS that will be protecting Gil while Athrun handels his badly influenced pupil Shinn Asuka.

Speaking of Shinn, does anyone think that Fuduka was trying to create a male version of Sohryu Asuka Langrey from Evangelion, they look so much like eachother in personality (both are b*tc*y).

Canard was hell bent on killing kira so that he can prove that he is not a failure... but he gradualy changed into a good person... he now is with the Junk Guild... he once piloted one of the 3 EAF Hyperion Gundams and later he got the Dreadnought gundam and upgraded it to Dreadnought H...

Hmm. I wonder what Shinn would be like without Rey and Gilbert. Reading the summary, I certainly don't get the feeling Shinn has completely gone over to the "dark side" but is getting ever closer - he still has to be prompted it seems. The Orb battle will probably make him or break him.

That still won't make him Kira's brother. Maybe soul brother or brother of the same cause but not his direct brother. I think it was said he has the same age as Kira so that's like impossible for him to be his brother. I am guessing he was the son of one of the other scientists in Mendel or step brother of Kira (like Kira's pop donating his u know what while someone else donates the egg).

Hum after a closer look, it's clear that Strike Freedom and Freedom OS aren't the same. Kira upgrades while he is launching (he's the only one who seems to be able to do this :blink ).

As for Akatsuki it fits it's name well. Akatsuki means "dawn" and actually has nothing to do with black and red clouds that the Akatsuki group in Naruto wear. The Gold fits it better. since dawn is the rise of the sun and well it looks goldish yellow when it rises in the morning skies.

For some of its specks it looks like it has one of those beam shield on the shield that kinda reminds me of Aremure Lumiere of the Hyperion gundam (SEED X Astray) and now the Dreadnought H gundam (SEED Destiny Astray). So I am guessing it does has the Aermure Lumiere system or full body Aemure Lumiere system on it and unlike the original Hyperion that can only hold the full body AL for 5 minutes this one must have more. Note the Aermure Lumiere is somewhat the beam version of the Hyaku Shiki's anti-beam coating. Also it looks like it will have the greffon beam wings like Justice, its either that or thouse are beam boomrangs. apart from that a beam gun and possibly a beam saber. So it's a milder version of Infinte Justice + Hyperiyon + Hiyaku Shiki merged into one. A pretty good unit if I say so myself, it should have no problem facing Impulse gundam.

Like i said it won't be the greatest unit out there but it will be one to match units like Impulse and other same level MS variants. Note that Hiyaku Shiki didn't look that strong at face value either, if fact it nearly sucked except when it was piloted by Char, Judau and Beecha (in the end).

Ya but up to this point we do not know if Luna has the seed. If I remember, episode 49 or 50 (cant remeber exactly) of Gundam Seed had Cagalli go into seed mode. But Luna, as a piolet without seed, is more skilled than Cagalli is. To be honest it would be a very interesting fight, especially if Luna does has the seed. Also, I just watched 39 last night, and in my opinion doesnt Strike Freedom own like everything. I was thinking about it because Shinn's destiny gundam, is powerful and extremely fast, but Kira has these little funnels that go everywhere ans shoot stuff. I cant wait to see that fight Shinn (Destiny) Vs Kira (Strike Freedom)

Actually according to all the specs in SF it's clear that Destiny is no match for it. But that's okay, SF was made to help Kira take out large numbers of units. Destiny's rival will be IJ and Athrun. You can even see it 39, Athrun was somewhat thinknig about Shinn and his actions. It's clear that Kira really dosn't care about Shinn or Destiny and I am sure in ep. 40 he will just come it, disable it and then move into bigger plans. Athrun however, will fight Shinn and try to convince him what he is doing is wrong.

It is said Destiny is considered faster but then again, it hasn't shown it yet, Freedom still looks much faster in the animations and SF isn't slow in speed either and to top it off the funnels can take out virtually any MS even if it is the fastest MS out there, remember Providence was much slower then Freedom but its funnels still hit it and Kira is overall better then Shinn in every aspect of a pilot.

Anyone notice something funny? SF has a total of 13 guns compared to it's usual 6 guns in Freedom. This means that unlike before where Kira used to use the HI-MAT system and target 6 different direction then aim for 6 others (aka multiple times of locking and shooting), he can now reduce that by 1/2.

Btw I think i know why Canard Pars was considered a failiure. It's mainly because he doesn't have newtype powers. Canard is a great pilot but he can't manage the Dragoon system, hence the reason they were removed from the Dreadnought H. So i guess the term ultimate coordinator meant SEED + Newtype powers.

Also from the look of it, it seems like the Meteor Units have become part of Eternal now (as in the ship can use them on their own) given the picture of Lacus with the Meteor units installing on Freedom and Justice... is it a hint that she will control them and use them like independent mobil pods from Eternal?

Erm that's odd, given that you have the providence picture on your avatar and it's pilot was also a newtype (Raww). I think newtype was the best thing they could have come up with in gundam history. Let's face it, a SEEDer isn't as exciting as Newtype. The SEED mode at first was good, when it was based on anger and risk of danger but then it was turned into something that can be used in a calmer mode and to make it worst in the end of SEED they had suddenly made Lacus and Cagalli go seed mode. Lacus is understandable, but how the hell did Cagalli ended up getting SEED mode is beyond me.

Is it just me or does anybody else finds the episodes ending a lot sadder? I mean, at the end of each episode fukuda portrays all the character in harmony and peace when half of them are already dead, what gives? Whithout mentioning the ones that will die!

Oh and another question anybody knows if Infinite justice is powerfull enough to take on Destiny. Cuz someone mentioned that destiny is a close range gundam cuz it has a lot of sabers, but does it match Destiny's speed?

It's attack mode is similiar to Destiny as in Close Range/Special OPS. It has plenty of none beam weapons just incase one of those anti-beam MS came on. It's subflight system allows him also to separate and attack from two sides. It's beam sword is a large entirely beam made sword that can get bigger depending the output Athrun wishes to use. Kinda like Epyon's sword. It's basically a medival knight. It's for this reason I say that it will be Athrun vs. Shinn and not Kira vs. Shinn.

It's obvious that the 3 ship allaince wont have many units to spare SF to go on to 1 on 1 duels with Shinn. From what we can guess they will have SF, IJ, Akatsuki, Custom Gaia, 3 DOM Troopers, couple hundreds of Astrays and Murasames (100 at max), Gouf Comand unit (Izak), Zaku Phantom Slash (Dearka), Custom Strike/Custom Chaos (Neo) a few more Goufs and Zakus (Joule team + Clyne faction) and that's about it. Their opponants will be Destiny, Legend, Impulse, (insert potential new and deadly MS here), alot of other ZAFT units and maybe even some EA units also.

Also it seems that Kusanagi is gone for good, there is no image of it... so either it makes a an appearence soon or it will be the 2 ship alliance or 3 ship alliance (with Girty Lue being the 3rd).

But you do have a point tactics and insight can give the opponent the edge but if the aggressor has a lot of speed theirs really little to go on, just plan a strategy and pray it works cuz if not you will be wide open to the aggressor.

Well when you think about it, Dullindal was wrong about Kira. Had Kira just realized his full potential as an ultimate coordinator. Had Kira just been an ultimate killing machine he would have never awoken his newtype powers. I mean considering the type of mindset Kira has (which is similar to some powerful UC newtypes) it makes sense that he could awaken such powers. I also want to see him use his SEED and newtype powers together, and fight some new enemy.

Erm Kira had been showing Newtype powers ever since the end of SEED. In Episode 47 he starts picking reactions of Kruuze. At episode 50, he does it again and like Kamille, Amuro and Judau has the Newtype connection with the dead (Flay), he laters starts picking up Kruuze's newtype reactions on the funnels and destroys them one by one by himself.

In destiny, he get's the same Newtype reactions of minerva fighting in orb (ep12). It's not the usual newtype signal but note Kamille did the same in ZZ the only diffrence was that kamille also psycoemuted Judau about the situation which Kira didnt do. Then in episode 23, he has some what the same reaction to Neo and he says "what the that is...". He has the same reaction when he faces Neo in 32.

So him showing full newtype powers now is no big deal, everyone knew he had it, we were just expecting when he would start using them at full power.

After watching 39, I just have to say that no one, not even an ultimate coordinator, can use a DRAGOON system perfectly his first time without practice just by speed-reading specs and instructions and updating the OS while pre-launching. He did that all in 10 seconds. That's just impossible.

On another matter, what happens to Strike Freedom's rifles when Kira uses the beam sword? And I must say that with eight funnels, Freedom's long range shots (HiMat?) will like double or something.

You are not incorrect when you say that those things (Star Wars, etc) all have special powers, but they are not based on a military weapon now are they? Gundam's basis lies in the technological development of advanced weaponry. Thus it takes place in the future where said weapons exist.

All those reasons are solid, except that they fail to get to the heart of the matter. Namely, that the lack of a thorough explanation of newtype powers seems out of step with the normal explanations given for technological developments. I mean, normally we are given some information about why mobile suit systems work and all that, but that only makes telepathic powers feel more like a plot device than a profound dvelopment of the series. Also (for your argument about fan service), Mobile Suit Gundam did not become popular overnight; the series took some time to gain a following, if I remember correctly. Also, it was the first to integrate newtype powers and so I don't see how that particular contention of yours holds much weight, at least in regards to the origins of newtype powers..

Going of subject.. You know I was thinking about some of the reasons I like seed so much. My dad is a Physicist and we were talking about the future of man kind and stuff (dont remeber why). And he suggested that genetic engineering will most likely take become an everyday thing in around 50-60 years. And this may develop into things like coordinators. And if the destiny plan is to unite the earth and plants, under a central government, this would be one way to obtain peace (temporarily at least there will always be terrorists). Also, I think in the Gundam Seed Universe, and some point every person will become a coordinator. Could it be possible that, the next stage of evolution that we under go, will be induced by us. Is it possible that one day, everyone on this planet will be united. I wish I could be around to find out. The possibility of realism is what makes me like the series (plus i wanna be a coordinator >.<)

In addition, i think that canar is NOT kira's brother. The reason why Kira is on his mind is bc his life in general has been shyt bc he doesnt meet kira's expectation. As well it doesnt really talk abou Kira's real father in it. I'm guessing that since the scientist frequently talks about the super coordinator, canar wanted to find out who. You are not incorrect when you say that those things (Star Wars, etc) all have special powers, but they are not based on a military weapon now are they? Gundam's basis lies in the technological development of advanced weaponry. Thus it takes place in the future where said weapons exist.

All those reasons are solid, except that they fail to get to the heart of the matter. Namely, that the lack of a thorough explanation of newtype powers seems out of step with the normal explanations given for technological developments. I mean, normally we are given some information about why mobile suit systems work and all that, but that only makes telepathic powers feel more like a plot device than a profound dvelopment of the series. Also (for your argument about fan service), Mobile Suit Gundam did not become popular overnight; the series took some time to gain a following, if I remember correctly. Also, it was the first to integrate newtype powers and so I don't see how that particular contention of yours holds much weight, at least in regards to the origins of newtype powers..

Aren't newtype powers supposed to be a human achievement and not a technological device? And of course I newtype powers are just a plot device. It's a device to get Char to want to make oldtypes newtypes.

I think newtype powers are completely explainable in Gundam Seed. They are the ultimate acheivment of Genetic Research, so it is not something magical which in this case is good.

Canard and Kira do look alike. Possibly all the ultimate coordinators subjects came from Ulen Hibiki. If you were the head researcher, why not use your own DNA in every subject? But that's frivilous. They'd be like stepbrothers lol. It'd be cool if he could show up in GSD at the end to give the Three Ship Alliance a helping hand.

ok... i don't really want to go deep on the newtype thing debate but this is my opinion... they say that Gundam was asia's Star Wars... or it was the rival of Star Wars in asia... so using that statement, i think the newtype powers are there because they stand for something... and that something is what the force stands for in Star Wars... Although they are different in looks and in some aspects, they function the same for their respective stories...
Since Gundam is sci-fi, i do think that it is appropriate to show that humans have evolved... and in that evolutionary (it does not matter if its natural evolution or technology induced) process, humans developed powers...

ok now on to other topics...
i think a recap ep can be appropriate and inapprorpriate depending on its content... if it was to recap the past few eps and maybe add a few more tidbits to leading to the next ep, maybe its good... but if its something like GSD EDITED, hell no...
