The new OP was meh, nothing compared to the old ones, but watchable for the next few episodes. The ED was perfection, plain and simple. The DOM pilots look kinda stupid, 'cept the chick with the eye patch. And the episode itself kicks ass. Though I'm still drooling to see Strike Freedom in action. So those are my thoughts on Shinn X Luna since it is going to happen.
I am once again keeping a postive thought on it because I really like both of these characters and I hope they develop their love relationship really well.

God I hope it doesn't come to that.

EDIT: Replying to Ha-ri, all of the groups are going to be a day or two slower than usual. Why you ask?
Because there is a new opening and ending. They have to make the karaoke and effects for it.
Unless one group doesn't do that stuff then it'll be faster. But from my experience, SEED fansubs always take longer when a new OP and ED has come out.
I believe HariTori is the same way.

Hey! is it just me or Andy is piloting S-Freedom in the preview until Kira comes to save them in Strike Rouge? nah, i might be wrong. i think he will pilot Gaia. either way CF has a lots of MS. He doesn't need to pilot S-Freedom..beside if u look at the cockpit of that MS, its an old cockpit. i don't think S-Freedoms cockpit is like that. it should be more stylish. Andy isn't as skill as Kira. he even said that he doesn't have that skills to disable the MS. therefore, its Kira who is piloting S-Freedom. those moves are definately Kiras style. it would make no sense if Andy pilots S-Freedom first. Kira should be the first one to pilot it. the preview for phase 39 didn't even mention about Andy piloting S-Freedom.

S-Freedom must be stronger than Destiny since its the Main Gundam. but, from the looking at the previous battle..Destiny is overpowered. Destroys sux. Destiny made them look like a cannon fodders. i thought S-Freedoms Wings of Light(not sure if it also have its own WoL) is activatable after the Dragoons system is activated. i might be wrong. it must have something like WoL..otherwise it would looks so damn Ugly after the blue parts launched leaving the black parts. from what i heard. wow freedom rules sure does like to pack his posts full of information, from what i am understanding you hating on the ShinnXLuna thing but thats to be expected, at the moment thier relationship does seem a little weird but I hope it doesn't end out all bad and hopefully Shinn and Luna will find out what really is going on with meyrin and Dullindal etc.

As for Andy piloting S-Freedom I wouldn't worry about it too much its only one episode.(if it happens at all)

:offtopic :devil-mad This has got to be one of my worse weekends... my PC got infected by a virus and it caused the pc to restart every 20secs after logging in windows... i reformatted it and installed everything... then i realize that my media players play my videos bad(the colors were not right)... so i reformatted again in hope of fixing it... after 5 reformatts, i checked my video card... nothing was wrong... then i realized it was a driver setting bug... i changed the settings and boom! the videos play good again... damn... i have not yet watched ep38 and im soooo frustrated! argh!!! :mad :guns :devil-mad

after watching the opening a couple of times i was confused while at the part where it features Athrun with this mobile suit is doing stuff in the background I thought was infinite Justice but it was using twin rail cannons so i paused it to find it was actually Savior, are they just trying to fool us and where too lazy to animate any cool Mugen Justice footage? and Cagalli was featured with Strike Rouge and not Akatsuki! oh well i'll just have to wait and see. Personally i think they've gotten lazy with GSD with all the obvious re-used scenes, i didn't pick up many in the original SEED except for Freedoms guns blazing but it seems like it is much worse in GSD.

about the S-Freedoms WoL thing. S-Freedoms WoL isn't excatly gonna look like Destinys WoL. some say, Wings will be glowing after the Dragoons are launched. and some say, the Wings of Light is activatable after the Dragoons system is activated. its true that it will be like stealing if S-Freedom does have the WoL like Destiny. cuz Destiny has its own unique for WoL..well may be not. V2's Wings of LIght is way better than Destiny's. from what i heard, S-Freedom can go in a short distance as a blink. like i've said before, there are a lots of mystery about S-Freedom. i think Kiras full potential will be revealed around this season. how long Fukuda is planing to hide it from us?:mad

well my theory of that green zaku being diakka was wrong. after pausing few times for that part it seems like that green zaku is shooting at strike rouge? if you pause it at the right time you can see it. it kind of looks like a strike rouge. i'm not quite sure but i can say it's deffinetly a gundam. but i dont think it's s-freedom. if it was s-freedom i can tell since it has those cool wings. this one has a strike aile pack i think if i look closely so i think its strike rouge. will kira piloting it?

38 was a truly amazing episode. The battle was far from one sided, and the battle tactics used by both sides were well thought out. Of course, the biggest problem the EAF faced was that they didn't know they were going up the angry and emotionally capricious protagonist, Shinn Asuka, as well as the Minerva, so the EAF was destined to lose. Still, I was surprised to see ZAFT's space-drop so easily foiled, but it made things more interesting. Also, I am glad to see Djibril finally acting like a real villain. Before he was more of a melodramatic little man who watched tv all day, and now he is a terrorist on the run (a much more respectable role for a villain).

If I might offer a few predictions. I suspect that after the inevitable battle at Orb, that Djibril will head to the EAF's lunar base, and that that will precipitate the final space battle (we will probably see the EAF bust out its renewed nuclear supply, since it's been 30 some episodes since they used them all and they should have made a few more by now).

At the moment, I am sort of ambivalent towards the whole "ShinnxLuna" issue. At least this time around, Shinn isn't falling for a raving screwball (Stellar), though one must wonder about Luna's sanity (Logos driving Athrun and Meryn mad? Come now). Of course, one could make the argument that Luna is the one who has fallen for the unstable person in this instance; after all, Shinn can get about as crazy as one of our beloved druggies, and he has been known to go on massive killing sprees with a beam saber.

All I hope for is that things don't get really sappy. Cagalli has provided enough tears per episode to last us quite a while, and I think the last thing we need is a weeping hug fest between Shinn and Luna every other episode.

Don't forget that Coordinator pilots are inherently more talented that their natural counterparts (at least generally). Better technology only helps the average EA pilot to a degree.

lol i re-watched the preview like 3+ times and i saw no Strike Rouge in it anywhere. but im guessing it is Kira who's in it cuz that Kira was gonna be piloting Strike Rouge. it would make sense anyways though. cuz how else is he gonna get into space? =S they dont have one of those mass-driver things...do they?

Gundams are more powerful than a normal mobile suit, don't forget Cagalli is still flying Strike Rouge and its probably more powerful.

Anou....I'd say the druggies could each easily handle Strike Rouge, with Cagalli inside, on their own. Don't forget that even Freedom and Justice had problems dealing with pilots like that. Even with Kira piloting, I don't think a Strike model would be able to handle it.

Zaku's and Goufs are weaker than Gundams in a sense that they are techologically disadvanaged. For example if you deprived the Strike Gundam of its Phase Shift armour than it really isnt much different to a Zaku with a Wizard Pack right? So basically what Im trying to say is that Zaku's are somewhere along the levels as the Strike\Impulse\Gaia line of Gundams but without all the extra's such as Phase Shift and so on.

Since Heaven's Base is destroyed, and given to the fact that the Destroyer arent good enuff against Destiny+Legend+Impluse. Is that the end for the Earth Alliance? Or they'll produce better MS+more efficient pilots. It's sorta wierd if the EA are finished and the last 10 or w.e episodes will be ZAFT vs ORB

I don't think the EA are quite finished. I believe they will have one trick up their sleeve that even Dullindal will not have calculated into his own plans.

Okay...I just HAVE to say this. Not intending to offend you, but I must disagree with that.

I don't believe that, we know how good Kira is right?
He is so good he could disable a suit right away.
The fact is he didn't, Shinn didn't only win because Kira wasn't intending to kill him.
I say tahts bs, Kira should have disabled the suit just like he has all the other times.
But he didn't, why? Because he couldn't.
Each time he tried Impulse dodged it, so I don't think Kira lost just because he wasn't aiming for the cockpit.
True, he would have beaten him if he intended to kill. But what, all he was doing was running away, trying to avoid the fight and help AA.

But all the other times he has done that he easily disabled the suit.
Shinn was smart, he used Kira's weakness against him and it cost him.
Seriously, don't you think if Kira wanted to he could have disabled Impulse.
He has disabled many more pilots and Impulse many times already.
To me, he tried and failed. Look at him, he was surprised at practically every single move Impulse made because he couldn't believe that Impulse could dodge his attacks so well.

and you know what? Kira did aim for the cockpit once. Maybe that was just for fanservice but they still made him aim there.
True he could have moved just like he did with Yzak but it didn't look like he was going to.
And what happened? Impulse spilt then owned the fuk out of Freedom.

Thats all I have to say now, I am not saying Shinn is better, but I'm saying even if Kira was aiming to kill. He probably couldn't.
We have seen him get POed and go help AA right away when its in trouble. Why oculdn't he do that? We probably won't ever know.

And that is my defense for Shinn, about that fight.

in GSD v2.0 thread, someone posted a pic of a meyrin figure wearing a black zaft suit... and in the previous pages of this thread, we confirmed that meyrin is not Eternal's new CIC... so... could it be that meyrin got promoted to vice captain in eternal???

And about the dom troopers... they seem to use a bazooka as their ranged weapon... wouldn't that make the dom weaker in long fights??? coz it would need to reload everytime the bazooka loses ammo... and considering that they're using a bazooka, i think the DOM Trooper pilots are very skilled pilots... firing a bazooka is totally different from firing a riffle... the guy using a bazooka needs to consider many factors because usually bazooka shells are a lot slower than normal, smaller shells/bullets from guns... factors like the distance between him and the target, the shell's speed, the angles, and the time it takes for the shell to reach the target... :blink if you don't understand what i'm saying try playing MS Gundam: Federation VS Zeon on PS2 or arcade and use either the Dom or Gundam and use the bazooka... :amuse Of course the auto targeting system will make things easy but it is still dificult to use the bazooka compared to the beam riffle...

There's been a lot of disagreement about the "main character" of GSD. People say it's Shinn because it is gundam seed Destiny. But who is to say that it is Shinn? Fukuda could have introduced him to create sympathy for him just to turn him into the villain later on so that he could be a tragic villain. But with the new ED it seems that he will turn good. But why wouldn't Kira take some of the spotlight? He is very vital to GSD. He is still a "main" character. Fukuda just introduced another one.

I think they both are the main characters. Shinn is a product of what may have happened to Kira had Kira not had anyone that truly loved him or took care of him. They are sort of balance each other, and in the scheme of things they are both needed in this story. In the end the actual importance story wise may go to Kira, but for drama side of things Shinn is definitely the MVP.

They are hard to use but I am guessing their pellets are like Anti-ship ones, you know they are like a triforce ship destroyers. The three pilots will probably use something similar to the "jetstreams" methode used by the Black Trinity aces did in MSG.

I am sad cuz for some reason haro-tori bt isn't working... oh well my comment from the raw:

I didn't like it much, i was hoping that the 5 Destroy would have given a much bigger challenge to the Minerva crew but alas... as for Shinn's trademark move... did anyone taught him that attacking like that seriously sucks and makes you open for an wide attack? I wonder if Fukuda is trying to copy Hajime Saitou's Gatotsu (RK), if he is he is totally doing it badly.

Lunamaria was a total dissapointment, Frey was much better then her. What kind of clutz would try to Link Athrun and Mayelin's betrayal like that? Y'know in Gundam Seed Destiny, when they animate a Gundam doing a particuar move, and they also animate another different Gundam doing exactly the same move, has it still been completely redrawn? Sure I understand that, for example, they re-used Heine's Gouf animation when Athrun piloted Gouf, they just changed the colour from orange to blue, but is it the same when they show different Gundams doing the same technique?

MSV stands for Mobile Suit Variation. They are hardly used in the (anime)shows, with as far as I know, the only exception being Forbidden Blue being in ep 38.

Also, a "sequel" I wouldn't mind, if it were done more like how ZZ was done. Atleast several years later, as in atleast a year or 10. Having the cast from GS/GSD make CAMEO'S only. Maybe put one in the same role as Quattro (= Char Aznable). I mean, the way the old cast from Mobile Suit Gundam was used was good. The focus wasn't on them, but on the new cast. It is said that several characters, such as Emma, only die to clear the field for a new cast in ZZ. GSD could do something like that aswell.

MSVs (or Mobile Suit Variations) don't tend to show up in an actual series. In the case of Destiny Impulse, it was just a prototype to test Destiny's weapons and capabilities before the actual mobile suit was made.

Ive recently been watching Gundam Victory, Im up to Ep14 and I find it even much more darker than Gundam Zeta. Maybe so becasue Tomino lets the viewer get much closer to the characters before they get killed off. It make me very angry, especially the way some of them are killed. If Gundam Seed/Destiny had went in a similar fashion to Gundam Victory, proberly everyone would have turned out like Shinn :P .
I guess now I sorta understand why some people say Fukada dont like taking risks.(Other People might have phrased this differently :P )

Victory darker than Zeta? Nah. Can't say I agree there. Few people died in Victory when you compare it with Zeta.

And the characters that do die in Victory, are mostly characters of little importance, in contrary to Zeta, where some characters have been there from the very start, die at the end.

Not to mention what happens with the main character.

Uso gets away without any scratches at all, while Kamille is more or less living dead.

I heard this pretty interesting track. It was like a SEED Destiny short drama thing. It was about Shinn, Lunamaria, and Rey's life, when they were in the academy days. I thought it was pretty nice. They all sounded like really good friends, and now i know why they are always together on the minerva, because they've always had that connection with eachother.

Some parts were funny though, Lunamaria makes fun of shinn sometimes, and other times Rey would think about Gilbert. I was a bit surprised, because there was a part where Rey was laughing with Lunamaira and Shinn. He also talks to them alot. but all in all, it was interesting to see what their life was like back then.

hm, yeah, just thought i wanted to share that with you peoples.


On a Side Note:

i find it pretty cute that Kenichi(shinn) does the voice of Zack in FF7AC, and Maaya(Lunamaria) does the voice of Aerith. and Aerith and Zack used to be BF and GF :laugh

For all those english speaking fans out there who haven't been able to watch any Destiny episodes, I think there is good news out there!

I do believe they have started dubbing Destiny episodes, as you can see on the imdb.com page for Destiny, Trevor Devall is listed as providing his voice for Neo. And if I'm correct, I believe Matt Hill (Kira Yamato) has started and Sam Vincent (Athrun Zala) will start to record soon. Trevor, previously voiced Mwu La Fllaga, but so did Scott McNeil, even though I don't think Scott sounds like Mwu much, maybe when Mwu's angry and yelling because I've heard Scott's voice in other animes like "Inuyasha" where he did Koga's voice, but I don't understand why there are two voice actors for one character. It's not like Mwu sings.

The funnels are not wired, thats just part of the model just so you can put S-Freedom in cool poses with the funnels around it. At least I hope it is :amuse . Anyhows the pictures that we've seen of the Dragoon system in S-Freedom dont show any wires. They werent any wires when they showed S-Freedom using the dragoon system in the Phase 39 preview either.

I seem to have a curse when watching anime, which ever character I seem become attached too ends up dying.

yes yashamaru is my favourite character and he got his necked snapped by some ugly naked man
you and me are alike, since we kinda liked those persons both and then they got killed off T_T, and i mean we all know Itachi will die by hands of Sasugay (noooooooooo Itachi-Sama)
funny enough i also began to really like Hiene just before Stellar choped him up dim sim.
i thought he was gay(not that i have anything against gays)and wanted him to die :P
you see i have made myself come to terms with the fact that Shinn is going to die as i have accepted my curse, i'm just really hoping that Shinn gets a really good death. Oh god this could also mean Athrun might die aswell as he was my favourite character in SEED(I watched seed before the curse activated itself) so this could also mean that Athrun might die aswell.
i hope none of those die, Shinn would be cool if he wasn't such a hypocrite and bloodthirsty BRAT, i hope he change and go to Archangel.

ZGMF-X42S Destiny, like Impluse and others, is catagorized as a "Second Generation" suit. As opposed to X56S's (*) changing Silhouette according to the battle field, Destiny was designed to meet any/all kinds of situations by armed with the corresponding equpiments from the start. It is also the newest power source engine "Hyper Duetrion" that made this vision come true. This engine is a hybrid of the original Duetrion and Nuclear Power, allows great mobility increase when the thrusters go full force, and allowing the creation of multiple visual images when moving in fast speed. These images are made possible by spreading Mirage Colloid and creating a 3D visual of the original machine in the surrounding space. The Junius Accord placed restriction on the usage of Nuclear Power and Mirage Colloid, and this shows that in reality the Accord itself has been nullified. By having Shinn Asuka, the only person that's able to bring out its full potential, as the pilot of this "Complete MS", it's possible to say that Destiny had indeed become the strongest MS in the history.
