I watched it and it was better than I expected. I mean, I usually think of One Piece Dub voices and input them in to make me not despise the English voices. I did it with Naruto too. Maybe if I would've done it with SEED, I could stand Kira's engilsh voice. Because no matter how you turn it, that voice sucks. And it sucks big.

and Luna's voice just isn't that great and the orange-haired mechanic (completely forgot his name) sounds like a girl.

I just can't think of Shinn's english VA sounding angry like the japanese VA.

Gundam animes (in general) have probably been the most popular anime in Japan ever since the release of Mobile Suit Gundam.

Released in -79, even today it's ranked among the top animes. I'm having a hard time seeing Naruto doing that in around 20 years, when Mobile Suit Gundam will be just as popular. :oh

First of all, I would post in the right section of the forum. This is the Gundam forum where you discuss things that concern Gundams.

As for how you increase your forum 'rank': You simply post and you gain a higher rank. I think you get a higher rank at 100, 200, 400, 600, 800, 1000 and so on posts. Don't count on me for sure on that though since I can't remember.

As for new gundams; one's just around the corner. They are making a OVA to Destiny. First episode is scheduled to come out in May. :)

Yeah, my last post in this thread, disregarding the one a couple days ago, was in October. The Stargazer OVA sounds promissing, and the flame of Gundam excitement is being slowly rekindled in me. Actually that's not true. I'm as skeptical as ever.

But yeah, I'll be following Gundam news from now on, occasionally giving my two cents (and bashing Shinn Asuka whenever the opportunity presents itself).

Gundam SEED goes theatrical UPDATED
Rumors on 2ch said to be from the Sony Music Anime Fes' 06 are that it was announced that there'll be a Gundam SEED movie.

It is known, through a radio commercial for this month's Newtype, that the magazine has "big Gundam SEED news" though early issues don't appear to have come out yet to confirm what exactly that news is.

Edit: Sunrise confirms the rumors, stating this will be the first completely original Gundam feature film since Gundam F91 came out 15 years ago. Mitsuo Fukuda will be the director.

I hope not, I think it'd be good if the CE universe was developed further. I doubt there's going to be another UC series (one that isn't set quite some time after the existing ones, anyway), so I'd rather stick with CE than create another universe. I'd certainly look forward to another CE series... though it would be nice if someone other than Fukuda directed. >_>;

Dunno. The preview for Stargazer is supposed to be out in June. Guess we can expect the first episode a month or two after that. But it did say on Gunota that Stargazer was due early summer. :)

Wow, I can't believe I'm the only one that decided to start posting after months and months. I agree that with Stargazer coming out we should have a bit to talk about. Well at least as much as 3, 15 minute episodes need. ssouske I have the Zeta 2.0, but I haven't done it yet. Unfortunately I can't seem to find a clear pink I need for a bunch of HG models I have. For some reason Bandai decided to color a lot of the beam parts a clear blue instead of the clear pink/red they are supposed to be. Moonphase reports a new Gundam series is under consideration for Oct 2007 directed by Seiji Mizushima, director of Full Metal Alchemist. If true, it will occupy the Saturday 6pm slot on TBS. Currently Blood+ occupies this slot with Aykashi Ayashi taking over this Fall. This info is based on leaked internal source so take it with grain of salt.

Brief summary huh...?

Right now they are airing Gundam SEED C.E. 73 -Stargazer-, a sidestory that takes place right after they dropped the colony on earth in Destiny (episode six I think). It's about a coordinator researcher called Selene (think that was her name, almost two months since I watched the episode) and a natural called Sven Cal Bayan who's a mobile suit pilot in the Earth Alliance.

And as I mentioned in my previous post, some info about a new gundam anime being released in 2007 was leaked. Nothing to confirm this as of yet though.

Nope, but I've heard about it.

Supposedly, Athrun is wearing the standard ORB uniform, Kira the white ZAFT Elite / Commander uniform and Shinn a normal red ZAFT uniform when Lacus takes over the spot as chairwoman of ZAFT at the end of the final special edition episode.

Although Destiny does end with Lacus being accompanied by Yzak and Shiho to the Plants, so it is perfectly logical to me that Kira would go with her. (Don't want to discuss their lack of relationship, but it's true they seem to follow one another.)

being a ZAFT captain does not sound bad... maybe a captain of a new series of mass produced ZAFT ships which should replace the aging nazcaa and laurasia class ships... :P but no more godlike pwnage from him... i've seen way too much of that already... and im tired of seeing it. though i would not be surprised if his ship is as well armed as his strike freedom gundam... imagine huge ship funnels and WOL on a battle ship...:P

Char and Amuro aged as the UC era progressed. I can't see why Kira and the others shouldn't. And both Char and Amuro piloted gundams, so Kira and them should too.

There was a post about the movie on Gunota some time ago and there it was confirmed that the first gundam movie since F91 was in the making, and that it would take place in the CE universe. The movie was due fall 2007 I believe.

i know this has nothing to relate but i was just randomly watching episodes of GSD an i noticed it was either a mistake or something on episode 50. its when kira and rey are fighting, it shows freedom instead of strike freedom. in the final plus episode, they fix this scene. what the hell?

Why do people seem to think Geass is somehow related to Gundams? How can you even compare the two?

It's natural to compare mech dependent shows. Evangelion is the only one that I wouldn't compare. The comparisons are made because it's popularity is comparable to Gundam Seed and because of the mech theme.

Geass crossed lines that Gundam Seed wasn't willing to cross. That's why it became more popular.
