comments for the very last ep... WTF?!? here is my ehem... own version of the summary...

destiny and ledgend were taken out in the first 10 mins of the show... WTF was that?!? you see kira vs shinn in the start which is very confusing... because we had athrun vs shinn and rey vs kira in the start... then kira instructs everyone exempt eternal to attack requiem... rey and kira then go one on one... athrun joins the attack in requiem... rey and kira talk... and talk... then kira mind-rapes rey... so rey freezes up for a sec then kira shoots him with everything and boom... destiny on the other hand offered almost no resistance to athrun... but first luna tries to attack justice... athrun tries to talk her out of it but she still tries to attack him so he disables her... shin tries to help luna so he charges the usuall way with his sword. first athrun took care of shinn's sword. shinn then fires his useless cannon at athrun and does nothing... then he tries to charge at athrun using his palm cannon. luna covers athrun and shinn freezes up... athrun shouts "Bakayaro!" and cuts destiny's hands... shinn tries to counter athrun's kick with his feet... but he totally forgot that justice had sabers on the feet so bye bye destiny's feet... then he looses... and cries on lunas boobs. kira on the other hand, gets his meteor and goes for messaiah... minerva takes out one of the gottfried cannons of AA but aa does that barrel roll over minerva and takes out both of minerva's tristans. athrun uses his flight backpack and rams it through minerva's rear... which totally took out minerva for good. gill fires his genesis mkII... yzak warns everybody everybody tries to dodge... but some of zaft's ships got obliterated by the shot... i think yzak's ship got hit. before i continue, i just want to say that i totally thought that mwu would try to block genesis's shot this time:P mwu:oh sure! i have this new MS that can block your positron cannon... lets try your genesis if i can block it!:laugh ok back to the story... after genesis' shot, gill planned to shoot requiem aimed at orb... so mwu and athrun penetrated through the beamshield using their shields(the anti-beam coating on the shields repel the beams) athrun uses his backpack again and mwu uses the dragoons to shoot the requiem's main cannon... then requiem goes boom kira goes and destroys messaiah's outer ring... then eternal and SF shoot a ton of missiles at messiah completely destroying the outer layer... kira then goes inside and unleashes hell... after that, talia orders everyone to abandon ship and says something to arthur. she then goes on a transport vehicle and goes to messiah... kira on the other hand proceeds to messiah's command center where gill is... he finds gill and aims his gun... gill too has a gun and they aim at each other... they talk then rey hides somewhere behind kira... kira and gill talk more... talia enters the room... he sees gil and kira... gil says something then bang!!! rey shot gil... then he cries like a baby saying "Gil gomen na..." or something... talia goes to where gil is resting... and aims a gun at kira... talia tells him something about murrue... then she tells him to go... rey is still crying... kira goes to S-F and leaves messiah... rey goes where gill and talia are... talia says to rey that its okay and he did his best or something... then rey said something weird... he called talia okasan...(i might be wrong so i'll try to hear what he said again) messiah explodes and the three of them die... messiah becomes space dust. shinn continues to cry and fondle luna's boobs and we see justice, freedom, akatsuki, AA, and eternal in a dramatic pose... i think they tried to end the series with a very dramatic ending... and frankly i did not like the way they did the sad ending part... rey crying like a baby for shooting gil... shinn also crying like an idiot... i guess he just likes to fondle luna's boobs while crying... and i think luna also enjoys that... so that is my version of the crapy and semi ok phase 50... i hope i mindless posts his own review so that i can understand more what they said.

Well we had Full Metal Alchemist after Gundam Seed. Now we're gonna have Blood after Gundam Seed Destiny.(Doesnt that odd):tem

I actually heard about a 40 min. OVA for Destiny. This, I am looking forward too. No more fighting, conflict, or political issues. Just of how everyone is doing after the war. who knows what might be shown. I'm hoping everyone will be living hapily at Orb, or something of that nature.


Does anyone know when the 40 min. OVA will be released? How long did it take the OVA for SEED to be out?

Well, I loved it. Just awsome. The end for Destiny and Legend might have been sudden, but after all, they weren't supposed to be the main antagonist in the end; that was Gilberts role, and I think it was awsome. For once, Kira showed himself in public (much like he did with Klueze in SEED together with Mwu), to face his nemesis. When he entered Messiah and took up his gun and pointed it at Gilbert I just went: "Oh god, I've been waiting for this forever." -and they start talking about which world of the two would really be the best one, and which one the people would accept. And then Rey comes into the picture, and Gilbert thinks: "This is my chance..." -but Rey, getting his hopes revived by Kira's words, in the end, didn't help Gilbert. The second Rey came in there, I knew he would be the one to end it.

As for Shinn, in the end, he played a very small part and contributed with almost nothing, only the great feeling of: "Oh my god, Athrun totally wrecked Destiny! Awsome!", then he was just crying together with Lunamaria. I thought the whole Stellar-newtype-flash-thingy was lame. Her voice alone made me twist in pain as I watched the episode, then the unbearable sight of the two naked in some sort of dream that looks like inside of a nebula*.

But anyway, awsome episode. I just loved the ending of it all. Rey shoots Gilbert, saying that he's sorry, but Kira revived his hopes of a 'new tomorrow'. Wow. Just wow.

*Nebula: Gas cloud in space that is left after a star has died.

I like how they tried to fake like Shinn was a major character until this episode where it just showed how little he meant to everything that was going on. In the beginning of the episode Kira beats his ass up a little. Later on he tries to be some kind of hero and ends up getting bested by a non-SEED Athrun (when Shinn himself was SEED) so you can imagine when Athrun went SEED it was all over.

i really dunno why but i feel like SEED end somewhat >= GSD end... gs end was very open but i really never felt that the ending added up all that confusion that they made during the past 4 eps... to me it was just way too darn fast... the drama, the fighting, gill's death... all just came in one ep... so i did not like it that much... the only thing i like maybe is the part where rey, talia, and gil die together in messiah... it looked so uhm... dramatic and sad... and uhm... none of the DOM troopers died... which kinda made my day...:P

I wasn't disappointed because I expected an abrupt ending and I thought the whole thing with Talia, Rey, and Gil was well done. Kira owned the heck out of the Messiah's "halo" and it was pretty cool to see the scale of it in comparison to S-Freedom. In the end I think the ending could have been much worse, and the fact that episodes 44-48 weren't up to par I think they did ok trying to recover what little they could. It was good to see the two people with the most opposite views in the show (Kira and Dullindal) finally have a clash of the minds face-to-face. I couldn't think of a more fitting end for the characters of Rey, Talia, and Gil. Shinn I see how they could have done him much better, but he was a lost cause towards the middle anyway. If they do another SEED of some kind to make a trilogy I'm almost sure he won't be in it or will play a minor role (kind of like how he did in this series :P). I don't know, I really would like a movie at this point to cap things off for these cast of characters. I surely do want to see another CE Gundam series, and as much as I love Kira and co. a movie that finishes their story would be enough. Should a full TV series be made (and knowing Gundam that's at least 48 episodes) with CE as the universe I would want a different cast.

Destiny had a strong beginning and middle and a few choice episodes in the end, but it cannot compete with SEED. SEED was awesome, great, excellent, superb, etc. Destiny is good

What in the hell was that? What did I just watch? Did I just watch Extreme Ownage Vol. 1 or something? I just saw a whole bunch of pretenders, fakers and haters get taken out in record time by some real soldiers. I know Kira is Omnipotent and everything but damn. Hell Athrun really showed that Shinn character.

I'm looking forward to that OVA putting a end to the series (40 minutes should be enough) or laying the groundwork for another one, hopefully it's the former. I wouldn't be interested unless it's Kira vs Athrun again since they seem to be the only people with the elite skills needed...

I will never forget parts of this series because they were beaten into my head with the constant flashbacks everyother second.

My conclusion of Episode 50...

Shinn = I TOLD U HE FREAKING SUXED AND WASN"T THE MAIN CHARACTER!
Seriously... that must have been the longest boob hugging in Gundam History...

Rey = I was expecting him to pull a total Raw La Cruze, but his change of mind was totally unexpected, hell him shooting Gili was even more unexpected. Kudos for Fuduka on pulling that off.

Athrun = Finally he shows the full awsomeness of I. Justice but again he ends in the back seat of the "hero" role. I think I was expecting him to be more involved then Kira. Biggest surpise in this role, he didn't SD Justice again... (I was fearing he would after he started to take 2nd seat behind Kira in 49).

Kira = OMFG, this guy is now the strongest Gundam Pilot ever. SEED + Newtype + Strike Freedom = Owning any other Hero Gundams out there. I like the "Say whatever you want but I still consider myself as a normal human" speech.

Lacus = SEED mode color chaged? I thought it was light green in GS. Oh well, atleast she didn't kill anyone with her bare hands/ms. That would have been too scary to watch.

Lunamaria = ..., I fail to understand why she bothers to attack Athun first, then jump infront and protect him when her boob hugger boyfriend goes lame sword trust on him.

Mew/Neo = Hey for once he used his brain and didn't jump infront of Genesis MK2 to get himself killed. I guess he wanted to seriously get in bed with Marrue this time. Cool destruction of Henesis thought.

Talia = Girl, you got owned badly. I was certain she was going to switch sides but what does she do, she goes and tries to fight with AA (it's a freaking angel that whitsood the first war when it only had 2 other ships on its side. It certainly won't go down when it have that many allies on it side). Sad to see her die with Gil thought, I was kind of hoping she would be the one to shoot Gil, for using her (pun included).

Overall, it wasn't a bad final episode, just way too rushed. I would have to agree with Mindless that Ep50 GSD > Ep50 GS. However, considering that it did what was done in two eps in GS=> Ep50 GSD < Ep49-50GS. Yeah, so i guess if they didn't have recap in 41, then 46-47 (about the most useless character ever) and 48 being almost all talk and no real action... it could have been much better...
Between the series however: GS > GSD. GS had a good flowing storyline and chracter development, while GSD had the better fights (with the newtype powa) but the ending was rushed, management was horrible and finally character development... killed.

All I can say is that I came to GSD half-way through and watched every episode. The ONLY reason I did so was because my friend knew how much I thought GSD would turn into GS2, focusing on Kira entirely again, which while normal for a Gundam series, I was tired of about half-way through SEED but finished it anyway. He finally told me that Kira was only seen three times so far through about 15 or so episodes and it focused on Shinn, someone who fricken hates Kira(ie like me). So I downloaded every episode so far and was amazed that he was mostly right. So then it goes into GS2 about two thirds of the way through the series and Fudaka completly screws me over by pulling this "Ha-ha, this is a fan-base anime, bitch." on me and is now on my personal hate-list(all though he did kinda get lower on my hate scale, he's still there).

All I can say is, I'm up for a trilogy. Yah, surprised? So am I. All I know is that in the next one, he better say KIRA is the main character, and not anyone else. This way I can make sure to hate it every way possible...all right, so Kira got off his pansy-waste hippie peace lover hype and is alright with me now. Happy Kira fans, you got me...*hates Chillin right now*

Firstly, character rape. Cagalli and Shinn were both COMPLETELY wasted, and yet they feel it necessary to include characters such as Meer and the DOM pilots! Seriously, they had no bearing on the story whatsoever. Some really poor planning there.

Secondly, ORB really shouldn't of won that easily. It made it really boring! If that's the last GS show, I'm gonna be really disappointed. I want to see Kira and Athrun fight foes on equal footing with themselves.

Thirdly, Strike Freedom. Just way, way too powerful. Nothing more to say there really.

Finally, MWU. The most retarded decision Fukuda will probably ever make. But, he's not enough like the original for me to think it's him properly anyway. But why? Again, what point does bringing Mwu back have in relation to the theme of the show?

However, I do love Kira in this last episode, and the first half was great all the way through. But NOTHING beats the original.

Personally I thought the last episode was beautiful. Well compared to GS's ending and even Evangelion. Yeah I think Cagalli shoulda gotten some action too, her character was completely wasted. Though I think Gilbert coulda gotten some more understanding of Kira's ways before he got shot. Otherwise that scene was sweet. Athrun shoulda gotten more fighting action between Shinn. Actually I thought both Kira and Athrun's fights between Legend and Destiny were rather short. If the series was done properly Kira shoulda gotten some more development rather than trying to make up for it all in the last episode. Kira really kicked butt. Note how he didn't loose any MS limbs this time? If SEED does continue to another continuaty I hope that Kira won't be the main fighting force against the ideal. Right now the world will be in chaos. It will probably be a time of rebuilding. I'm hoping at least 10 years past in the series before a continuaty comes out.

Don't hate him. I'm sure he was presented with one choice, change the story or be fired. Or the show getting cancelled, but they'd probably get someone new in this day and age. I thought that the ending was ok. I was laughing half the time though, like when shinn was crying, and rey was crying. My eye twitched when i heard Stellar's voice. but somehow, it sounds like Orihime, in that scene.

My interpretatoin of when Rey says "mother" when Talia hugs him, isn't that Talia is his mother, more like a comfort thing. Same thing in Final Fantasy VII Advent Children, When cloud feels aeriths warmth of her hand on his forehead, he calls for mother. Knowing Rey, a loner, its only natural he'd call for a mother.

at least thats what i got out of it.

although, when i saw shinn grab for lunamaria, i laughed SO hard, hes such a wuss. im not being hypocritcal. i love and hate shinn. love him for his looks, hate him for his attitude.

and in a way, it makes sense that shinn didnt experience something to make him change himself. i imagine in the OVA, that he'd still be arrogant and cocky. but thats what makes him who he is.

all in all, i give the series a B

Regarding Strike Freedom having Wings of Light: Yes, it does. And some say it's just a effect by beeing out in space, but I don't think that's the case.

Regarding newtypes: Newtypes have been able to do different things. Some may communicate with eachother, some may have superior sense of battle, and fighting in general. Some may be able to control things (move stuff) with their mind alone. There are many more examples but I guess thoes are the most common ones.

So basically Kira was still controlling Dragoons via a computer, but his newtype/Seed abilities allow him to use the Super Dragoon system more effectively.

Regarding Strike Freedom having Wings of Light: Yes, it does. And some say it's just a effect by beeing out in space, but I don't think that's the case.

Regarding newtypes: Newtypes have been able to do different things. Some may communicate with eachother, some may have superior sense of battle, and fighting in general. Some may be able to control things (move stuff) with their mind alone. There are many more examples but I guess thoes are the most common ones.

From the day we were first introduced to him, his one fear was the Freedom.

Kira wasn't exactly the one he feared as much as it was just the Freedom itself. The Freedom marked his insercurity of losing everything he'd gained. First it took his family, then Stellar, and now it was threatining to destroy the world he so desperatly whished to protect. Because of the Freedom, we see Shinn's weakness. When he fights the Freedom, he's not thinking straight. The time he did, he completly PWN'd Kira's ass. Sure, Kira claimed he wasn't sure ZAFT was the enemy, but I think he was just trying to save face. :P

So really, the answer to your question is that when Shinn sees the Freedom, and thinks of those he's lost, he goes beserk and loses all focus and grasp on whats happening at the time.

I agree with you mostly, but 2 minor points: do you think Athrun was TRYING to mess with Shinn, or just yelling out as usual? And when you say 'Since we were first introduced to him' you mean his family's death. But does he even know Freedom was there? He hasn't really shown that he has...he only wants to take vengeance for Stellar (whose death scene with Shinn - when she goes into the water - was great, but who is herself retarded. The world below was willing to go through with the Destiny plan, so it's not like they're going to thank Orb or Kira for their deliverance or anything.

What Dullindal wants is an ideal world that is pretty much impossible to achieve, he reminds me of the first emperor of China who wanted to build a 1000 year kingdom, he did not succeed but he did lay the foundation of the Chinese empire, the same with Dullindal he wanted something that is impossible but it will not change the fact that he was the one who eliminated Blue Cosmos and Logos which I do think will make attaining peace much easier.

But if Dullindal is left to live, then to implement his plan, he will pretty much need to commit so many crimes and even if he is to achieve it, that world will simply not last since it is pretty ideal and further throw the world into a state of chaos. I do not think that it is the plan itself that Kira detests, but the methods used to achieve it and the fact that it is pretty much impossible to realize.

Athrun wasn't trying to mess with Shinn in the head, he was trying to show him reality for it is. Just like he said earlier, the words comming from Gil's mouth looks great but when you realise the consequences that would result from his plans, you see how horrible the plan is. Shin doesn't blame Kira for the death of his family, because not only did not see it, we can also see that it was most likely shots from Raider that killed them. As for him and Stellar, call it the stupidest love attempt in Gundam history. If you look at the story you can see that Shinn is one hardheaded egoist pilot. He was willing to let him so called "love" destroy a town full of million of innocent habitants, just to save her? Was anyone asking the same question as me, what happen to you hate for people who kill innocent civilans then Shin question? What Kira meant by that line is that he is prepared to see trough the world in its natural evolution. Which he has done ever since the end of SEED.

However, unlike last time the "super powers" aren't so super anymore. EA fleet is almost all destroyed and the ones that survived aren't likely to join BC since Blue Cosmos as an organization is dead, unlike last time, along with the other creator of war Logos.

On ZAFT's side, there might be some pro-Zala people left, but given the look of most of its fleet upon the unfolding of Destiny plan, they sure didn't like the Gil way and I am pretty sure they wouldn't want another of those. The fact of the matter is they did the same thing after the first war except in the end they chose the wrong person who gave them the wrong imporession when they chose him. So now they will be even more careful who they choose next time. Also notice that since EA is no longer there, it pretty much means that they won't have to be up in arms again like the last time.

So unlike last time, the situation ended on a better term. You have both main oppostions reduced to rubble. You have the people unwilling to fight wars and you have the treat of imminent hostility down by a greater margin then in the first war. Sure there will be conflicts there are always is, but this is like the Second World War were the world won't be fighting all at once for a very long time.

Erm, when I was talking about contacting the dead, i mean more like talking to the dead, not simplying seeing them as some sort of ghost. Shinn hardly ever talked to one, all we saw of his was simply past rememberence. Kira however, had Flay talk to him and vice versa, it's a whole diffrent stage.

So no Shin ain't a newtype. The only ones who have shown Newtype powers in SEED series are Kira, Mew/Neo, Raw and Rey.

So I watched the final episode, and in general I agree with the critiiques that it felt rushed at times, and that Shinn and Rey were beaten too quickly. However, I was truly impressed by the development of Rey's character at the end- I guess it just reminded me of something about Gundam SEED Destiny. The point I am getting at is this: there were times in this final episode that revealed how creative and artistic the makers of the series are. If nothing else Gundam SEED Destiny makes me sad because I think that it could have been a truly great series. Instead it suffered from numerous set backs and mistakes. There were feelings I got during this last phase that amazed me- I even sort of liked the newtype moments. So yeah, GSD has had its ups and downs, but in the end the most profound thing I can say is that it was a tragic tale, not just because of the devastation wrought throughout the series, but because it stumbled when it could have soared.

At this point I don't see what was so impossible about it. Whether or not it was a GOOD thing to do, Gil (that sneaky bastard) was well on his way to achieving what he wanted. Who could have stood up to him? Earth and PLANT were ready to fall in with his plan, and once they had, it would be even easier to keep the system going.

Agreed about Blue Cosmos and LOGOS, but now that the world is thrown back into chaos, whatever's left of them will have an easier time rebuilding.

The ideas behind it could have been seen as pretty idealistic, like you said, but the methods used to achieve it were not. I think Dullindal could have made that world last. He would have put everyone into a rigid genetics-based caste system that may not have very human-rights-compliant, but certainly would have been organized. I mean, look at how long the caste system in India lasted. And here the upper castes actually will be more capable than the lower.

Not that the Destiny plan was a good thing to do, but I don't think the ending was very "Well, it's fixed now!" I would rather Fukuda showed how Kira and the rest would have convinced the rest of the world not to fall in.

Thouse people you were seeing giving their blood I don't think you could say they were from earth but certainly from plant. Because it seemed like it was one of the recaps of past history of how the coordinators created their advancement in genetics. We actually havn't seen any humans from planet earth jump up and down about it. Everything that happened was his plan from the start. That's mainly what him playing Chess symbolized. The problem arose when Kira and Lacus proved to be too much for him to handle. If he could have destroyed Orb when ZAFT attacked he would have won. He couldn't pull it off though.

Yes he was the mastermind behind the Colony drop. He actually paid one of those Colony dropper leaders (a woman) to set the action up. It is explained in SEED Destiny Astray.

It was a recap, because you see he is presenting his idea about the destiny plan, when you present something you don't put it on live. Those ppl giving their samples of blood resembles more like the coordinators giving their blood for their future childs then earthers. In most case, after his Destiny plan speech, you see the reaction of most Earthers and Plant ppl who were awed (i.e. "huh?") when he mentioned it. Most peopled were certainly not ready to give their blood, some might have been but that's propaganda for you (in propaganda you show what you want them to see). In fact, most nations were in heavy descussion wheather to accept or refuse the plan on their parlement. Only Orb and Scandinavia directly refused the plan.

You can also see this in the battlefield, the group attacking ZAFT wasn't only Orb forces, but a mixte of Orb (Dominante), former EA (Minority) and ZAFT who don't believe in his words (Clyne Faction). So it was a coalition attack. Even te forces who was supporting him were confused on what to do. He had Loyal people but as you can see in 50 they were very few, most were like Talia, just doing there job because they are forced too, not rightfully choosing his words by themselves. That's why most were again confused when they saw Neo-Genesis, because none of them knew it existed, heck they didn't even knew that Requirium was still functional and in ZAFT hand.

Ive been wondering why Kira and Athrun EVER had a hard time fighting against Shinn and Rey. If you notice both the Destiny and the Legend were weak to begin with in comparison to the Strike Freedom and the Infinite Justice. The Destiny has WEAK armaments, and the only thing going for it is that nice after effect image when it moves fast (A good one on one ability), thats about it. Hell im suprised he got so far with that stupid sword of his. A SOMEWHAT useful Gouf weapon (but slightly bigger) to a NUCLEAR powered Gundam?? Either Fukuda was high or he really DID make destiny weak. And the Legend was just a carbon copy of the Providence, which Kira fought and barely DEFEATED with the original Freedom. Now hes an even better fighter, knows how to fight against MS like it, and has a MUCH better version of the Freedom, not to mention Rey is nowhere near as good a pilot as Rau was. Im suprised Kira didnt own him right off the bat. It didnt suprise me at all to c the fights last this little. What WAS dissappointing was the dialogue being interchanged between the characters during these fights, specifically from Athrun to Shinn. I was expecting Athrun to say something a bit clearer now that he knows about the Destiny Plan. Hes worse than John Kerry, lol. He never talks straight to Shinn. It would have been suprising to see Shinn ever change sides the way people (mainly Athrun) tried to convince him of the truth. When you never explain yourself like Athrun its pretty hard too. Actually it almost seemed like Fukuda never wanted Athrun to be straight with Shinn, so that we could have a crappy underdeveloped character, lol.

Ive been wondering why Kira and Athrun EVER had a hard time fighting against Shinn and Rey. If you notice both the Destiny and the Legend were weak to begin with in comparison to the Strike Freedom and the Infinite Justice. The Destiny has WEAK armaments, and the only thing going for it is that nice after effect image when it moves fast (A good one on one ability), thats about it. Hell im suprised he got so far with that stupid sword of his. A SOMEWHAT useful Gouf weapon (but slightly bigger) to a NUCLEAR powered Gundam?? Either Fukuda was high or he really DID make destiny weak. And the Legend was just a carbon copy of the Providence, which Kira fought and barely DEFEATED with the original Freedom. Now hes an even better fighter, knows how to fight against MS like it, and has a MUCH better version of the Freedom, not to mention Rey is nowhere near as good a pilot as Rau was. Im suprised Kira didnt own him right off the bat. It didnt suprise me at all to c the fights last this little. What WAS dissappointing was the dialogue being interchanged between the characters during these fights, specifically from Athrun to Shinn. I wouldn't say Destiny and Legend were that bad of MS. Legend was actually pretty good, but when your against someone like Kira Yamato, you need an exceptional MS, just to get in the game, because it is well known that when he gets serious, you better run the other way. Shinn Asuke is simply an overrated soldier who was overhyped by Gil, since the man knew he was the only one he could make his served salad eat up. Their slow charging for full effect though. And Infinite Justice can easily swivel around his backpacks cannons and shoot Destiny in the face if he tries to grab him and shoot (or simply eject his backpack into him, lol). The palm beams are merely for additional damage once the primary damage to your opponent has been done. My problem with the Destiny is that besides the crappy sword, it had no constant energy weapon (i.e. like the beam sabres) so he always has to rely on the after effect of his movement and the sword. With Sword gone, hes pretty much a confusion type mech. He tries to confuse the enemy to get his attack in successfully, which obviously, wont be working on ace pilots like Kira or Athrun.

Theres a significant differance with having beam legs than having to transform and pull out two more beam swords, lol. All I. Justice has to do is kick and activate his legs beams at the exact attack point to do serious damage with the kick. In fact, he could even go about doing it so the enemy doesnt realize his legs have beam emmitters by deactivating them immediately after the kick comes through. So yes, VERY big difference. And yes your right, Strike is similar to Destiny. You could almost go as far as saying that the Destiny is the Nuclear powered version of the Strike, with added palm beams and butterfly thrusters, lol.

If it was someone like Yzak, he would have done the job, but Shinn Asuka ain't Yzak he never will be.

lol, a better pilot would have at least gotten Athrun to Seed mode. Damage? no, dont think so, unless were talking Kira, Mwu, or good ole Rau. The I. Justice is good in that several different body parts are equipped with beam emmitters, hence the basic use of the Gundam requires the user to fight more like a human than a gundam, using kicks, beam sabres, and otherwise moving more limbs than most pilots are used to seeing an opponent use. Actually it somewhat reminds me of the Altron from Wing but with more focus on slicing parts off than brute physical strength and flame throwers, lol.

After watching the Ep50 (SEED funsub a few times), i got a better understanding of the episode (my japanese isn't perfect so i couldn't understand some things till the sub came out).

Anyway, I made some wrong comments... one of them apprently Shinn does show some signs of newtype powers althought they are very weak. It's not even cetain if it's the newtype contact with the dead effect or he is actualy dreaming since well his small conversation with Stellar was while he was unconcious... but anyway, i guess i came to a conclusion that he is like a very weak version of all the power/special characters combined togathers but much weaker then each at their powers. Kinda like Kira but Kira is much stronger then all of them combined with on their powers.

In SEED mode: Kira = Athrun > Shinn

In SEED mode, we saw both Kira and Athrun in GS and both were at equal, althought Athrun acquired it later, but they wre about the same strenght. In GSD given two years of Experience both were much stronger, while Shinn was a newbie at it who hasn't even reached the SEED mode in stable/a will condition.

In Newtype mode: Kira > Mew = Rey = Raw (althought he knew how to use it better) >= Kira (GS) [= if you include SEED mode with it] > Mew (GS) >>> Shinn (who is at his debut if you can say that).

In terms of Newtype powers, it was obvious that in GS Raw was the better adapted to his powers while Kira was a beginner who learned to match him only after adding SEED mode. Mew was simply the average guy with the average suit, if he had something similar to Freedom he would have been much better then Kira in the first part of the Kira vs. Raw fight.

In GSD, Kira was the topgun, he pratically had every newtype abilities that was shown in UC arc. He even got the damn Wing of Light, although it didn't do the miracle like Uso had (that guy's Wing of Light did everything). Following Kira far behind was Mew (now known as Neo) and Rey who were at equal powers to what Raw had at GS. Far far behind is Shinn who is begining to show some signs of newtype powers if you want to call it, but it's obvious that those are pretty weak compared the idividual powers of each of the other 4 Newtypes of the series.

Combined: Kira >>>> Shinn.

Well, there isn't anything to add here...

Piloting skills(as in basic piloting skills): Kira (GSD) > Athrun (GSD) > Kira (GS) = Raw (GS) > Mew (GSD) = Rey > Athrun (GS) > Yzak (GSD, GS) > Mew (GS) = Andrew (GSD) > Shinn > rest.

In piloting skills, Kira is again the best and for a good reason. Not only can he adapt to basically any types of terrain and gameplay (when he isn't really confused) he can program his MS at the same rate too. Athrun is obviously the second strongest, the guy is the only other one who can pull of complicated human like manuvers like Kira with an MS. Raw would come third at this, the man couldn't pull of neat tricks but he sure knew how to use his MS at its maximum efficency, unfortunatly for him Kira not only managed to do the same but he could change his MS configuration along with it (no wonder he was so envious of the Kid). Mew (GSD) was and still is the best natural pilot out there, maybe people like Ed Harrelson, Lowe, can match up to him at that but they weren't in the series (well Mew at GS that is). After Mew (GSD) it's obviously Yzak although both Gai, Canard and Prayer were much stronger but again they weren't in the series. Bartefield in GSD would pretty much equal to Mew (GS). After bartefield, it's Shinn. Now some might say i am being mean to Shinn, but the truth is he ain't a great natural pilot. He has no strategies on his own and charges at his ennemies head first. If his opponents were hesistant characters like Kira and Athrun, he would have been dead long ago. He is only good when he is angry which is also when he triggers his SEED mode, but we are talking about being natural powers without their special SEED or Newtype powers here.

As for the battles. Here are some stuff i noticed after going frame per frame. Kira's shot on Shinn hits Destiny's right beam forarm shield and destroys it, which is why we see an explosion.

Reason for why Rey doesn't use his close range dragoon piercers... they attack linearly and given that Strike Freedom is the most mobile next to Infinte Justice they can't aim at it properly. Not to mention Kira destroys them. The first one get's blown when Kira shots at it while it was comming from behind (hence that explosion), the second one gets blown a few moments later as it was infront of Rey who managed to block the beams with his beam shild, but the dragoon got destroyed before he could move it.

By the way, we have to give credit to Clyne faction on redesigning of I. Justice. At first I thought that the bacpack would act like Justice's backpack, you know carry it's high-energy beam guns, but instead it turned out to be filled with 4 large beam blades = extremely cool. Now Athurn can simply be called the knight-blades :laugh.

Oh by the way, Aegis also had two fixed beam sabers/blades at its toe (the reason it's poor front was so pointy), so it's almost as same the leg blades just that I Justice would work in multiple types of kicks while Aegis would only be good for the good old boot kick.

3. Yzak is much better then Shinn in tactics. Shinn did get Athrun to SEED mode but more so that he (Athrun) can protect Luna then being forced to defend himself. Yzak's only disadvantages would have been that he doesn't have a SEED mode (if anyone else should had one it should have been him not Cagalli). The angry white haired man, showed he knew out to catch his ennemies with suprising tactics, if he was using destiny and it was him versus Athrun, Athrun would be atleast missing an arm.

zigzags? I dont know, thats pretty questionable. I mean yea itll confuse Athrun, but after playing several air combat sims myself, u learn that when an enemy tries to confuse u with their position, your priority is to the space directly around yourself instead of the where the enemy is, so that ur immediately aware of incoming attacks. Athrun being an ace, this is pretty much a given skill. And yea your right, the aegis has beam sabres STORED in his legs. Yes he could activate them but he has to pull them out and activate them. Discounting the differences between aegis' movable and justices' non movable beams, thats already one more step clueing the enemy in to what ur doing.

Maybe an arm, but Athrun only went Seed in that very last part of that fight. Throughtout most of the fight, he was just himself while Shinn was already in Seed Mode. Ill give this one to you because Yzak wasnt well developed enough during Destiny to be able to predict this (again another of Seed Destiny's flaws). Still, winning against Athrun I dont c Yzak capable of though.

Proof... well shin was doing a faded zoom like the characters do in DBZ ^_^ But if you are talking about MS speed(not including that butterfly move shin does where he goes fast) then i say Justice is faster cause of the bacpack. Next about yzak being a tactician... well he is good, but nowhere close to a person with the Berserker Ability.

Finally some comments about the end of GSD...

i'll go with crimson on this... i think destiny is not the fastest suit out there... the reason why it does that mirage dash thing is because of the mirage colloid's effects... every time shinn uses the WOL, it activates the mirage colloid feature of destiny... it makes an illusion that destiny looks so fast that its making several coppies of itself while dashing... sure shinn can confuse athrun while zigzaging his way while doing the palm cannon strike, but with athrun's experience, it will still be very easy for athrun to knock out shinn... using anything that mugen/infinite justice can give him besides, the palm cannon would not do much damage depending where it is aimed at... unfortunately for shinn, athrun used his beam shield to confront the cannon, thus no damage whatsoever...

It was pretty obvious that I. Justice > Destiy and unless it was SF > IJ there is pratically no chance for Justice to lose (okay maybe Legend with Cruze at helm).

Oh yeah about the characters... I guess in the end Fuduka revealed some of Rey's mysteries after all. He didn't want to be a pilot nor be a clone of Raw. I guess he wanted to be a pianist. But two years ago when Raw died, he was asked/more like forced to become a pilot and play the new Raw for Gil. Kinda sad really, its only after that he really started to support an advocate of Gil's plan. I guess the reason why he shot Gil wasn't simply because of Kira's word but possibly because he felt that Gil crushed his own dreams and did not gave him an alternative option to make a choice. That's why he said something like " I am sorry il, but his world is..." probably the end phrase was going to be "the world i wished i could have been in". it tells you the entire sad story about Ray and why Kira's words affected hims so much. One it gave him the realization that no matter what other said (in this case Gil) he was a diffrent person from Raw and did not wish to be Raw but Ray. The second part told him that the type of world he probably wanted to live in as Ray (no matter his aging effect) was the world Kira talked about, where even if there was wars, he could have been Ray the pianist and not Ray the ZAFT soldier because his other clone was in ZAFT.

As for Shinn, well I am kinda dissapointed on Fuduka here this guy really should have died. He tried to pull another FF7AC ending here... (Your gay Shinn ain't Cloud Strife FUDUKA!). He kind of put Shinn trying to be Cloud Strife, but the thing is Cloud is much diffrent from Shinn. For one he ain't a lose cannon and Cloud's problem was internal. Shinn problem was himself. In the end, he get's consoled by non other then ... St... (it was lame i can't finish the sentence). I really don't like how Shin cried like he did in the end. It seems that he still wants a piece of freedom! I think the ending would be better, if somehow Shin's inner angst get resolved in some way. Hence, it would show some growth in Shin's character. Through out Destiny, Shin has only been filling himself with pride and prejudice, being blinded by Ray kun. Letting Shin out of his cage would make me happy :P, and perhaps he should be smiling or something at the end as a sign of relieve that the war is over?? After watching this, I don't even know why they put Kira and Athrun in Destiny, we know about Kira and Athrun's ideal in seed already.

Do you actually have proof that Fukuda made Shinn like this because of what the fans wanted? I am not saying that this is impossible but the only evidence that you have is assumptions about how the show turned out, for all we know Fukuda intended Shinn to be like this from the very beginning.

Now been a little over a week since Gundam SEED Destiny ended. I'll miss it, eventhough it had it's flaws. I'd love to see a new Gundam anime soon, possibly one based in the CE universe, but not like the earlier Gundam SEED BREAK or the latest hype; Gundam SEED ETERNITY. Sure, the concepts of both might have been good, but there was no real substance in either of them (at least in the latest one, can't remember the old ones 'supposed' script).

I hope they can make some sort of OVA to round off Gundam SEED Destiny, to show what happened to the world after Dullindal was struck down, and then, make a new Gundam anime. A completely new one wouldn't be bad at all, but setting one up in one of the current gundam universes might be just as interesting. Something like a setting in UC after the Crossbone Vanguard might be interesting. :)

In PLANT, marriage is regulated based on people's genes (I guess not all combinations are okay?). The regulation seems pretty heavy actually, and people are often not able to marry for love, which is causing the birth rate to fall. It's because of those regulations that Talia left Gilbert (so she could have a child). Gilbert was actually working for Patrick Zala to try to help resolve these problems.

It says something about Mwu/Neo's memories but I can't quite figure it out. I think it says Neo's memories were created, but I'm not sure.

Whether it be stupid or not is irrelevant, you still have to give concrete proof. I actually like what they did in Destiny so I do not consider this stupid. Besides you cannot really use the argument that Shinn was hated and that's why he was dropped as a main character, because back then Kira was extremely hated and fans wanted Mwu to become the main character more than they ever wanted Kira to take over Destiny, yet he was still the main character in Seed. All the most important parts were fairly developed though not as developed as Kira was, still it was decent development. The reason for this is that the plot structured in such a way that Shinn's role was diminished.

I don't even see the significance in that picture, probably because there isn't any. That whole Shinn thing I'm just kind of "meh" about. I'm indifferent about his role at the end. There were times when he could have done something important or they could have given him an important scene and at the same time it wouldn't have affected the end in the long run. He still could have gotten his ass beat like a scrub, and he still could have been left to cry for half of the last episode. Really there is no point in making him have doubts in his mind if in the end he won't change even a lick. It would have been better if he was the same ass he always was without doubts in his mind, that way I wouldn't have held out any sort of hope for him as a character. All they needed to do was show him fight for the last 12 episodes, because every scene where he wasn't in the Destiny was a waste of time when it came down to the end. It would seem like I'm mad but that's not the case. I enjoyed Kira and Athrun hogging all of the spotlight at the end. I'm not a raving fanatic supporter of either character (though I do like them a hell of a lot), but I just prefer to see them speak and see them in action as opposed to Shinn who was just a lost cause towards the end of the series (looking back I wished I had seen that). Maybe it was bad writing, or perhaps they were looking to take a different approach to his character and eventually just ran out of ideas or didn't know where exactly they were taking him (well...I guess that's bad writing too). But they made it very easy to dislike him and in the end make you not care just how insignificant he was to the plot.

i liked this serie, it was a little blurie at first, but i think that was the intention i think.

the new gundams were awsome, especially freedom (duh). i found it sad how freedom was lost, because kira was aiming for total destruction, but just to neutralize and disarm the enemy unit. shinn just used that and went to his fullist to destroy a person who doesn't wanna kill.
so shinn is not really the best fighter. but that was obvious.
further i just wanted to say that i really hated shinn.
he was such a pathetic dickhead, thinking he was the only one who suffered in the previous war, while he knows nothing about the experiences of kira, athrun, cagalli and lacus, how dare he to think he is the only victim. and after that hes got a major attitude problem, thinking he is the best and his big ass mouth.


but the animationn really rocked my socks :) so in short, good serie

UPDATED: It will air past midnight on Christmas. The new after episode will reveal the path of Shinn, Kira and Athrun after the battle.

Hopefully this will be the ending I hoped for, where we see everyone returning to normal life, or, stop the chaos in PLANT. I mean, they did take down a few colonies, then they suddenly killed Gilbert, I bet there is alot of confusion. Lacus will probably take care of things there I bet.

But as it looks, it's both a summary of all 50 episodes and the new episode "The Chosen Future" during the one hour spot. That could mean that it would only be a standard 20 minute episode, which, in my opinion, would suck. :blink

But lets pray that's not the case. And I really hope that they have put some effort into this, made it a bit more OVA'ish (Higher quality animations, drawing, etc.).

Oh and about what you asked Strike, if there is any good anime to watch. Check out Blood+, you can't hate it. :P

And it seems the cover I posted earlier for volume 13 was indeed the real one. It will be released in Japan February 26th. It will contain the 'Chosen Future' special episode, along with the final episode.

EDIT: I just realized something. You see Infinite Justice for the very first time in episode 26, when OP3 was released in the anime. They changed the harem scene with Athrun so that it's Justice instead of Saviour. Worthless knowledge, but still funny how they have sneaked in stuff into the anime now when you look back. :P

Well its not really sneaking up since that is the 3rd OP and Infinite Justice's Head does appear in the end of the 3rd opening. lol

Wow...really now, what gave you that impression? I'm one of the very few that didn't trash and crap on this series after its finale, and my opinion of this show's inferiority to SEED is shared by many. I don't however, try and make it a point to criticize this show or take cheap shots comparing it to SEED at every chance I get. I don't know who's posts you've been reading, but they weren't mine because you would know I thought this show was good. To say I think that everything is stupid in comparison to SEED is going overboard and sounds like nothing more than a shot at me or something. I can probably guess as to why, but I'll actually give you the benefit of the doubt.

The box does indeed look like crap in my opinion, if comparing it to the SEED box or not. I'll even throw in that the Mai Hime box doesn't look all that hot either and it's set to come out around the same time as Destiny. Maybe it's just a problem at Bandai. Guess who's still buying the series though?

SEED 3 moves forward?
Moon Phase's miscellaneous notes site reports that Comic Gum's February issue says that Sunrise has greenlit a 3rd Gundam SEED work. No other solid details so far. The news has yet to be mentioned on their main site or their upcoming anime chart.

today has been a total WTF?!? day... uber huge family reunion in our house so my lil cousins barged in my room and wrecked my 1/144 Mk. II model. then its been more than 8 hours since i have started downloading the shitty raw of that GSD final plus phase. and im still at 28.7%:arg nobody is seeding it... whats even worse is that saiyaman is yet to release his own version of the raw... It's like a remake of the final episode. They have changed alot of stuff in it and added alot of different elements to make the end a whole lot interesting. And of course, it gives you a real end of Destiny... or possibly a new beginning because of what Kira says in the end of the episode to Shinn.

Kira: "No matter how many times the flowers are blown away, we will still grow them.

Athrun: "I suppose that is our fight..."

Kira: "Let us fight together."

the english dubbing of Gundam SEED Destiny, Phase 1, has leaked out onto the internet. for those of you who want to watch it, you may find it in the gundam D/L thread.

and for those who dont want to watch it i generously took various video clips from characters that we havent heard the voices from, and combined it into one clip type thing. i would have ripped the audio, but the program i used was being a bitch. so, its about 48 seconds of audio with crappy visual.
