Dose Zetsu remind you of Two face from Batman? Do you think Kishi thought of that?

Well, they have a similar concept of character, but their personality is vastly different and so is everything about them besides their face.

Except there both divided personalties so its not just the face, of two minds about everything.

They are similar to Two-Face in the fact that both halves always have their own different opinions on things and they have to counter each other's statements. :amuse

Interesting finding. We know Kishi does take characters from other mangas and change them according to plot , so why not Batman ? Two Face and Zetsu sure have similarities.

Not particularly, beyond the general aspect of his split appearance. The personalities themselves, Zetsu's motivations (or, at least, his admissions of loneliness), his views on morality (<a huge factor when it comes to discussing Two Face's character), the way he moves and relates to others in his world are all so vastly different that I'd never see there being a real need to actively match the two up.

As for whether Kishimoto may have been inspired by Two Face in his creation of Zetsu, I'd be more likely to believe that he was influenced by the ideas of yin and yang. The creation of the Two Face character is one based on dissociative identity disorder, tragic loss and irrational actions. Zetsu, on the other hand, literally has two separate, simultaneously active halves (as opposed to two separate personalities with the memory loss that comes part and parcel with multiple personality disorder); he's shown to be extremely rational and has experienced no known tragedies. Because of how his halves interact and his common sense, Zetsu's character seems to be centered on ideas of balance, emphasized by his connections to the earth and the taking in of human flesh (i.e. circle of life). While Two Face, on the other hand, will never be a character that exhibits anything but imbalance, in spite of his goals.

Only because they have two faces. Other than that, not really.

Apart from the split personality, I don't think they're all that similar.

A villain in the Batman series who started out as an honorable district attorney but (in the original comic series) has half of his face disfigured by acid, goes insane, and becomes a crime boss. He is known for having multiple personality disorder, as well as determining whether someone was good or evil, allowed to live or going to die by the flip of coin.

Thanks for posting that and you made some interesting points in your other post. There is only a superficial similarity I know.

Not really, for one thing, Zetsu's split doesn't look anything like a horrible affliction like what Dent went through. There also isn't that fixation on good and evil because Zetsu doesn't show any concern about choosing whether to do something good or bad. He does not have issues with making decisions, he just talks to himself and does as either side wants. I certainly don't think believe that attemption to change his appearence would fix him like it would Harvey.

Other than their slight physical resemblance in the face, neither of them are anything like the other.

Not really, just because Zetsu seems to have two different personalities whereas the Joker's is just his appearance.

No I don't think so really. They never seemed anything alike to me.
