He is indeed interesting character, and I must admit with the beginning of this season I have to take back my words of wishing him soon death. He begins to get more gray in my eyes, and that makes him interesting. But apart from that, there's always also liking and disliking, so what will it be - do you like him (not because his interesting or good for the show, but from sympathy) or you don't? And why so?

It's a love-hate relationship heh. I can see where he is coming from and why he does what he does. I guess in a way I can sympathize with him, if it's all about evolution then he is playing it right and gaining all the advantages that he can.

But then again he messes up people's lives, so I hate him for that.

Ah, Sylar. You make my head spin :argh

I prefer him as a villain - a villain that is SUCCESSFUL.

I don't like how he's being imprisoned, used, weakened or whatever all the time.

5 Years Later was the best episode in the series thanks to Sylar. He's my favorite character.

I like the character well enough. I think it's retarded how he keeps getting captured.

Hiro, Sylar, and Peter all suffer from the same thing. They're all way too powerful. Sylar is an incredibly smart villain, so they can't make him retarded (like Peter and Hiro) so they opt to lock him up.

With that said, I love him <3

One of my favorite characters.

I like him but the writers try to have him around to much, he's better when he's mysterious and creepy

He's a brilliant villain, fascinating partly because he's not stereotypically evil. He represents the ideal of self-realization taken to its horrible extreme. I did dislike him first season, but development that happened at the end of that season has made me really appreciate him. I liked Adam more, lol.

He cuts people's heads off and absorbs their powers.
What's not to love about that in a comic TV?

Anyone who doesn't love New Sylar is not understanding the show :pek

Yeah, pairing him up with Noah makes me like him even more.

It was getting a little repetitive with him just going around taking people's powers and moving on to the next.

love him and let's face it he basically drives the entire series with his personality and powers. :lmao So yeah I like him a lot. If he wasn't part of the series I'm not so sure I'd follow it anymore.

I used to like him.. Then came the ping-pong back and forth about what his character was supposed to be:
- Started as evil
- Later retconned to hungry, tried to commit suicide after first murder.
- Then happily starts hunting because Elle betrayed him.
- After a lot of villainy, he gets captured and becomes a field agent who's determined to show he's not just a killer. Does some killing anyway.
- Gets offered a job at Pinehearst, but refuses because he wants to change and is loyal to his mom.
- Betrays his mom because there's suddenly a father and then joins Pinehearst.
- Becomes super-close to Elle and shows the ability to become romantically involved with someone.
- Throws it all away and becomes evil again because Angela and Arthur weren't his parents.
- Becomes obsessed with finding out who his parents are.
- Becomes confortable with being evil again once he discovered his father was evil and killed his mother. This apparently made it okay for him to be evil also.
- This flip-floppiness reaches insane proportions once he gets a shapeshifting ability which for some reason induces a semi-split personality disorder.
- Becomes Nathan, doesn't take and he is back to himself and starts killing again.
- Because he loses against Samuel, that somehow means he needs to reevaluate himself.
- Starts thinking about losing the powers which have been his main obsession throughout the series just because Clare starts wondering if she lets her powers define her. Apparently he hadn't really thought a lot about the concequences of the thing he has been obsessed with for 5 seasons.

I used to like him when he was interesting.

I couldn't care less if he got written off right now. I actually wish it would happen, it might force the damn writters to either close shop or produce something decent.

i like his character he is cool. but i hate when the producers mess him up and make him a punk. like when he wanted to be good, had daddy issues and know with his fear of being alone. he is is the best when he is killing people to steal there powers. he and hiro are the only reason i see heroes.

Sylar is one of my favorites but it always pissed me off when the writers fluctuated him around being the good guy and bad guy. I liked the first time he was conflicted with being a hero or villain (when Angela convinced him she was his mother and he started working for the Company) but after that anytime they had him switching it irritated me.

Lol, I used to like Sylar.

He started out good but then they ruined his character completely. Good guy, bad guy, emo guy, pussy guy, good guy.

SHITTY GUY.

Sylar has been an interesting character indeed.

When I first started heroes I wasnt a big fan of him, but I liked him as a character. The whole cockroach theme was fitting, yet destructive for his amount of gar for me.

In the 3rd season he had a very interesting story, I didn't like his mental breakdown with the whole mother issue. It mindfucked him and I thought that was kind of lame. After that I started to like him alot more, his 'apprentice' and killing his father finding new resolve was badass.

Now in season 4 I like how he is becoming a good guy again. Although his allegiance switches alot, I think that his character development was well written (apart from the mother-issue). After 4 season I finally started to like him though.

Used to like him, I didn't when season 3 started, and I stopped halfway through it so I don't know what they did with him...

Too much messy writing to like him anymore though...:\

Him turning good opens up much more posibility for heroes maybe we actually get a villain who has a plan.

There's no way a good Sylar could be good. This ain't DBZ and he ain't Vegeta.

Well i think there is still hope, Sylar was good but as we all know he had no ambition and they fucked him up badly. Did you seriously want 5+ of Sylar travelling place to place killing people?

No, not really. What I would've liked is them just giving him an evil plan to destroy the world, kill him, and be done with it.

i hope he just goes psycho permanently and starts cutting people for their powers.

Psycho? You mean emo, or rather, forced-emo?

i mean uncontrollable psycho because his hunger takes over him. no emotion just the thirst for powers.

CrazyMoronX

So is he cutting people (emo) or is he cutting their heads open to get their powers (psycho)? :LOS

well to me him having his mommy and daddy issues where emo. him slicing people for their power psycho especially since he only needs to touch them to get their power. but who cares they can turn up to be all the same.

They bastardized Sylar's character, let's just leave it at that. He should have died Season 1 or 2.

02-24-2010, 02:35 PM
Sylar can give in to his thirst for powers without having to kill anyone, so that won't work. But more important: what powers should he possibly get? He's an immortal shapeshifter with telekinesis, he's got absolutely nothing to worry about.

Love-Hate.

I would have appreciated him much more had the writers turned him into a great villain; not a "I just wanna be loved," guy.
