Not necessarily. I think it'll be more likely that he belongs to the The Captain (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TheCaptain) and the Non-action Guy (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/NonActionGuy) tropes. Basically, his power is leadership, or something along those lines.

I was a bit hesitant about this series from a conceptual standpoint, considering how tiring Rental Magica "magical organization" anime can be on occasion. But, I was pleasantly surprised by the first episode to the point where I think I may be enjoying the series in its entirety.

This is mostly because of how much I appreciated the world-building and social construction that the series appears to be partially focused on. I've always been a fan of shows that deal with ideas of anthropocentrism (i.e. GitS), so I'm definitely interested to see how far this one is going to take the theme.

Other than that, I enjoyed the wide breadth of the city they lived in with various "sets" being in evidence. So far, the characters are better than decent but nothing really to write home about, I guess. The fighting is also entertaining (or, at least, I was lamely amused by the whole bullet deflection scene).

But, most importantly! Tsuda Kenjiro.

Uncredited (as he so often is, when he plays minor roles in series like Kaiba or Chocolate Underground) but easily the best part about the first episode for me in his role of the aggressor. This is the first time (other than Byaku in Kekkaishi, who barely counts in my opinion) that I've seen Tsuda as the antagonist, and I was highly pleased by the result. Like all of his other performances, he managed to embody a character vastly different from any of his former roles in a very short period of time. And, how seriously I was able to take the "Shoot!" scene is pretty much directly attributable to his abilities as a seiyuu.

I'm not sure how good it is, though, as I've never seen anything out of koreanotaku. But, at the very least, it could probably get you through the episode.

but the premise of a town where Youkai and humans lived together grabbed my attention. Not to mention the colorful and vibrant characters were sure interesting. Each with an interesting personality and set of abilities (Kotoha's ability was the coolest IMO)

Hime was so cute with the long scarf even as a little kid. Love the mental image of Hime riding around on the dog as a mount. How fitting it is that Ao is scared of a little dog. But it was sweet of her to talk to him when he left. Not so pleased at how Hime just slapped him and sent him off after spoiling him rotten. I like how did consider the people of the town before something that has been irredeemably corrupted though. Sadness aside, funny that evil Silver just loitered around while Akina and Hime talked. :P

Fantastic! Been waiting for this, one of my favorite songs this season. Can't wait to listen to full version now.

For the series, I've watched all3 episodes. It's not breathtaking, it's not bad it's a bit better than average. It's entertaining but it doesn't blend in with the top-shows, but it's well worth to watch.

Yeah, that's really just how crappy the animation is for this show.

I wish I could find something redeeming about the show. The character designs aren't much to look. The characters themselves are boring, their powers are boring, the setting is boring. The slice of life moments aren't very good.

There's the whole Human/Youkai dynamic, but I've seen that before and in most other shows there's actually a difference worth mentioning.

I liked the Mayor's little town song. Touka freaking out was adorable. It was fun watching Hime and Akina looking like they would puke. Loved the reason for them taking the different charms. xD

Yeah, I saw it as well yesterday. Thought of getting it, but the anime seems fairly faithful in terms of setting - of course, the manga's art style is the best part and the anime hasn't managed to completely capture that. It's solid, though.

Now the actual episode itself was kinda stale. I mean how convenient they found both parents and the father reveals himself the very moment the boy is able to bounce the ball 20 times? :awesome

As for episode 9, I liked learning about all the not so little things that result from what happened with the Nana-gou. Poor kids and the sunlight. And interesting to see something of Enjin's past. Wondering what finding out what the reasoning for wanting to removing the Nana-gou would be. o_O

Episode 10 was far better than the last one. Nice to see some character development for Hime. I wonder if she will find a way to improve her skills with the dragon lance. It seemed pretty ineffective against what they were fighting in this episode.

How terrible of the elders, leaving the responsibility on the shoulders of the mayor instead of trying to figure out a way to save the place themselves. The explanation for the scarf was pretty sweet. I liked seeing how the other were handling the situation without the mayor along with her reacting to it all. I liked Kurenai, and this has the same director, how has this series shaped up so far?

Pretty generic. It's basically like any other magical organization series with a central gimmick. Only rather than it being a human with an eye that has overwhelming abilities, it's a human with the similarly overwhelming ability to send demons to a different plane of existence. Rather than discrimination against witches dividing society, it's anthropomorphic demons and half-demons. And, rather than the leader having trouble keeping control of his or her organization due to external threats, this one has trouble retaining her authority internally. In other words, nearly identical framework with only the label attached to characters and abilities being directly changed.

As for how it compares to Kurenai, it lacks the original animation and art style, fluid pacing and deeply sketched characters that made the latter series worth the watch. All in all, Yozakura Quartet's not bad. But, I wouldn't get into it expecting anything like the director's former work, or else you are apt to be disappointed.

I'm honestly not quite sure on how I feel about this series finale. I mean yeah its best episodes were average overall and some things could have been done better.

I'm not quite sure I like how Enjin's defeat was done but his servant at least had a well portrayed fight and defeat. I guess I should just accept the Dragon Lance being haxxed and augmenting Hime's abilities. She was getting her assed trounced a few episodes back with her regular one.

I'm at least glad Akina finally manned up and was able to send Enjin back. Although he never really left a good impression on me.

Overall the series while watchable, could easily be passed over and I don't blame any person if they felt like doing so/dropping it. Most memorable thing here for me will no doubt be the soundtrack.

I'm glad Touka helped out during the fight. I don't understand why the land gods can't step in, maybe I wasn't paying close enough attention, was it explained? I kind of wanted to know more about Enji's past with Hizumi since all we got was that little flashback. Like, why did he disagree in the first place? o.O But yeah, as the other two have said, pretty average series.
