It just seems like all the SasoDei on FF.net (which I frequent) are AU. Not that I'm complaining, since quite a few of them are really good, and kept very well in character, but it's so mainstream now for the entire Naruto Fandom. Dx
Though I understand with Sasodei, since mainly the beginning and Ending of all of the non-AU stories are forced to be the same... Dx
Beginning: Deidara = Forced to be in Akatsuki
End: Usually ends with Saso's... you know.
Gets kind of boring, IMO.

@Poiison: I'm selective when it comes to pairings per series. I really love only 3 in Naruto and that's it. There are others that I'm okay with or accept just because they make sense but few that I truly love. :nod

I'm pretty picky about my pairings too....the characters involved usually die :arg and they pretty much never have a chance of actually being canon and they're hardly ever "main" characters. But I still love them :)

I never usually pay attention to many pairing wars either (with like, mainstream pairings i.e. NaruSaku, SasuSaku, NaruHine etc...)

I'm not particularly selective with my pairings unless it comes to Sasori, Deidara, or Shikamaru. I only like SasoDei (although I have to say, ItaDei has become interesting as of late) and Shikamaru doesn't really fit with any of the girls in the series, though I'd rather ShikaTema than ShikaIno, just cause.
I like Sasusaku, actually. Much more so than Narusaku. :O

....SasuNaru is the most canon Yaoi Couple besides ZabuHaku (which is canon, despite cries otherwise) and SasoDei (which is so canon it's not funny. >D) SasuNaru is my third favorite pairing in existence behing SasoDei and YuuRam (another Fandom.)

Yeah, Biology is not my forte. :O I'll probably never get around to writing that Fanfic, though when/if I do, I'll post it on FF.net or DevArt, bleedblaqk. Sasori's gonna be a Contest Participant. (takes place in Hoenn, though with some Sinnoh pokes, because I'm more familiar with Hoenn, don't have D/P, and fangirl over Misdreavous/Mismagius.) Deidara has a Zapdos. :D

My SasoDei folder has about 3200 pictures. >D My SasuNaru one only has about a hundred. My other pairings go unnoticed after SasoDei. (I didn't even squeal when Yuuram became Canon, I was more focused on Sasori being taller than Dei, which turned out to be false anyways.)

The way I see it, it's close to canon.
It's more of a rival/friend thing which I always happen to be drawn to.
