Water cascaded down the monstrosity in a dozen rippling waterfalls, catching the light and shimmering in the air as it fell. It would have been beautiful, but for the demon that towered above them.
“Looks like a huge turtle…” Tobi said, a note of awe in his grating voice. “So this is the Sanbi…?”
The creature was indeed huge, and heavily armored, three great tendrils covered with plates curling behind its thick, spiked shell. Only one of its eyes was open- it was perhaps as large as Tobi himself.
Huh. Three figures, three tails, three eyes. The blonde’s lips twitched as he summed up the winking bijuu. Stupid beast.
“It looks strong…” the masked man murmured, then turned to face his companion, his single dark eye twinkling with an unseen smile. “So, I’ll just leave this to you, Deidara-senpai!”
“You’ve finally become a member of the Akatsuki, un…?”
Tobi nodded, not liking where this was headed.
“You should do it!”
The figure floating on the water’s surface did a double take. “Y-you’ve got to be kidding!” But Deidara’s bird was already pulling away, and the Sanbi dove and rushed at Tobi. “Uwaah!”
Deidara pulled back his bangs and used his scope to get a better view, grinning in delight.
“Aaah!” the replacement wailed, sprinting away from the giant cutting its way through the water like a torpedo. “It’s after me! Since this thing’s a water-type, shouldn’t Kisame-san be on this job?! They obviously picked the wrong guy!”
Wasting his breath whining at me… damn it. Deidara had hoped that Tobi would forget about his presence and not ask for help. Then the artist could have let him die.
“Uwaaaaa!” Tobi gave an ear-splitting shriek as the demon dove for him.
“He’s pathetic… un…” Deidara pulled out a sculpture and thrust it into the air. He didn’t often get to use his underwater explosives, and this would be a good opportunity to whet his skills.
It was a pretty creation, a scaly fish with a carefully sculpted tail. It swam its way to the monster’s left side, near that open eye.
This should be fun.
“Katsu!”
Deidara’s grin returned tenfold when Tobi’s scream met his ears, and he watched the black speck that was Sasori’s would-be replacement get blasted into the air.

“Oh, yeah! Deidara-san! Did you see my jutsu?! This thing was nothing for me!”
… I can’t believe he’s not dead… “Even as an Akatsuki rookie, it’s no wonder I was given such an important task, don’t you think?!” He was given his Danna’s task, the little bitch. Damn it, why didn’t he die?! “I’m pretty damn good, right?!” And why won’t he shut the Hell up?!
“…” Tobi stopped chattering when he finally noticed Deidara’s visage. A shiver went up his spine. “Please… you wouldn’t have gotten anywhere without the artistic contribution of my explosive clay…” His rage was like a kettle on the fire, slowly coming to a boil. “It’s my art that deserves the praise here, un! Stop getting all full of yourself, forgetting the help I provided you! Akatsuki members aren’t talkative, they act calm and cool… to make it simple, being cool is being artistic…”

“Un! Sasori no Danna! Did you see my art?! Was it not beautiful?!” Deidara’s bright eye sparkled with adrenaline, his puffy hair flying around him as he danced around the short… thing… that was his partner. “That bastard Itachi may have caught me off guard, but now you see the true power of my art, un! I’m pretty damn good, ne?”
“Brat…” a now very familiar growl emanated from Sasori. Deidara huffed. “You would have been ripped to pieces if I hadn’t been covering your empty head. You were so wrapped up in your measly fireworks, you didn’t even notice the enemy’s counterattack. It was my jutsu that saved your ass.”
Deidara flinched, but said nothing. How could he help it? His art was flashy. He was supposed to be caught up in it- the enemy was supposed to be caught up in it, damn hicks… they just couldn’t appreciate fine art. As a terrorist, he’d watch spectators in delight as they screamed and cowered and gasped and held his creations in awe, giving them the respect they deserved… but these damned…
“It is my skill, my art, that deserves praise, Brat!” Sasori continued. “Stop getting distracted and stop ignoring the aid your companions give!”
The teenager bowed his head in shame. Sasori had a way of making him feel two inches tall. He was less of an equal and more of a mentor to Deidara, but the worst thing about him was that he was right. Deidara got carried away, he lowered his guard- he was careless. In some twisted, cruel way, Sasori was trying to help him, but it hurt. A lot. Deidara was proud.
“And another thing, while I’m at it…” His partner’s ugly head craned to face him. “Akatsuki members bear themselves with dignity and grace. We aren’t chatty, bubbly prats. When you put on this cloak, you must maintain an aura of artistic calm, the unchanging, serene stone… Akatsuki is the eternal sky that carries the burning clouds of the sun, and you are a representative of that. Clean up your act.”
Wham!
Deidara’s foot smashed into Sasori’s side. “Then you forced the wrong guy into your precious organization, un!” he snarled. “Nothing is eternal, not even the sky, and if you want me to be like that, you can shove this cloak up your ass!”
“…” Sasori was quiet, and Deidara thought that was the end of their conversation, but then… “Listen up, Brat. True art, true beauty, transcends all. It stands the test of time and carries with it the soul of its message, that which the artist gave to it. Through true art, one can live forever…”
“Absurd,” Deidara hissed. “Absurd. Nothing is eternal, un. That is what makes it precious. That which is fleeting and rare is the epitome of loveliness- the transient nature of day and night, the leaves on a tree, our lives- this cannot be denied. Even the stars… even the stars die in a blaze of glory that not even my art could achieve, so perfect in its fleeting beauty.”
“It’s obvious we cannot see eye to eye… very well…” Sasori shivered, and then ripped his cloak off.
Deidara’s eye widened in shock. “W-what the Hell are you?! I-” The strange thing that was Sasori fell apart in neat pieces, and a young man rolled his shoulders and rose to his feet from the wreckage.
“… You’re taking this better than I thought you would…” the redhead commented, looking him up and down through half-lidded amber eyes. The voice was softer and clearer, but…
“… What the Hell?! You’re younger than I am, un!”
Sasori laughed. “Hardly… I am around thirty-five years old.”
“Impossible…” Deidara shook his head violently. You… you’re… Kami, you’re short!”
The puppeteer stared at him in disbelief. “… You don’t believe me… because I’m short…”
“It isn’t that, un!” The blonde stomped his foot in frustration. “I mean… well, look at you!”
Sasori smirked at him triumphantly. “You see, Brat? I am going to live forever. I am the sky.”
Deidara stiffened his jaw in determination, his cerulean eye hard. “Then I am the Akatsuki’s transient clouds, un.”
“I don’t think so…” Sasori shrugged, kneeling back down and pulling the parts of his hideous shell back to him.
“Oh?”
“No.” the hidden redhead said. “You are the Akatsuki’s dying sun.”[/I]

o_o How do you do that?? Anything past, like...1/4 of the volume bar (on my screen) it getting much too loud. Occasionally, ex. if I am in the car, I can take it a bit closer to 1/3 the bar, but my ears will start to hurt after awhile, so I try not to put it that high...

Do you have your volume set to only be able to go up to a certain point or something?

Yep, and Sasori/Sakura meant Sasori cosplaying as Sakura, not that disgusting, pure crack "pairing". Sick! Disgusting! Urgh! Seriously, I don't mind Sakura, but even if she was the last girl on Earth, I doubt any of the Akatsuki members would fall for her. I'm trying to make a NaruSaku gif and the transparent part keeps coming out white-greyish. :yell But for some reason, the hearts in my sig and my avatar came out perfect. :arg

Usually you have to save the file as a png for the transparent parts to remain transparent. Hmm, but I haven't made a gif with transparent parts using photoshop. I will do a quick test now and let you know.

I have just tried, I can't make animated gifs with transparent backgrounds.:arg The transparent parts remain transparent in the PNG format, but it has to be a gif for it to able to be animated, and the transparent parts turn white when you save it as a GIF.

I use Adobe Fireworks CS3 for the animated emoticons. Photoshop is for the animated gifs from those youtube videos. I suggest that you download one of the animated smileys here, like this one :hammer and study it in fireworks. It's not that difficult coz usually emoticons have very few frames.

If I remember correctly, the :wtf one which I used to make this http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff46/chocy1/tobiwateryeyes-1.gif has only 2 frames.

Guess I wasn't thinking straight yesterday coz I was tired. You can create gifs with transparent backgrounds. My avatars and this http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff46/chocy1/deitobihammer.gif have transparent backgrounds. Urgh, seriously wasn't thinking straight haha. I am testing it out again now.

As for that gif you posted, you have to make the border for each frame like that. When you open the frames in photoshop, you can edit them. Though I haven't tried that before haha. I don't know if you can use "apply all" to set the same border for all the frames, or you have to do it one by one. Haha, I will test it out now too.

As for the transparent backgrounds, yeah you can make gifs with transparent backgrounds. For Fireworks, the picture has to be a PNG beforehand, and then when you are done with the animation stuff you save the overall animation as a PNG. That's the original copy with all the layers. Then you save as an "animated GIF" and that's the copy that you can host and use.

I am testing it out for photoshop now. I think it shouldn't be a problem. I am just more used to fireworks that's why I haven't tried it on photoshop.

Okay I have just tried remaking an animated emoticon using Photoshop. It works. Same as the tutorial I made yesterday, just that this time the pictures in that folder wouldn't be extracted from a video. This emoticon http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff46/chocy1/tobiwateryeyes-1.gif has only 2 frames and I made it using photoshop. If you want a transparent background, make sure that you have made the background transparent and saved the frames as PNGs.

So make a folder and paste the two frames in. Then follow the tut that I made yesterday to make the gif. I am trying the border thing now.:iria

DeiDei, I don't know how to make apply a border to all the frames at one go. I only know how to do them individually on photoshop.:sweatdrop I am signing off now to concentrate on the Kisame gif.:bye
