Heaven & Earth: The Naruto X Sakura Fan Club

Naruto and Sakura. They aren't just a typical main pairing.

One can't really deny that they've had a lot of panel time together. And at first glance, they may be a fairly typical anime couple: boy likes girl, girl hits boy, but eventually falls for boy and they ride off into the sunset together. But that isn't why we're fans of the pairing - although we are hoping for that last part. The reasons that most of us are fans of NaruSaku can be clumped into four main reasons.

They certainly didn't start that way. Naruto was initially trying to deep six Sakura's feelings for Sasuke and then tried to steal a kiss. And Sakura didn't think anything of Naruto. But they've both matured enormously since then and have been willing to give up their own dreams to help the other.

In the first chuunin exam, Sakura was willing to sink her own chances to advance in order to protect Naruto's dream of becoming Hokage. And she's tried to let Naruto out of his Promise of a Lifetime twice after seeing what he's gone through. Naruto's best example of that selflessness is the same Promise of a Lifetime.

They're both ready to support and help out the other whenever the other needs it. It's even become a bit of a flaw because in trying to help the other teammate, they try not to burden them with their own problems. It's something that they'll need to work on. After all, they aren't perfect.
Both Naruto and Sakura actively cheer each other on. Each of them finds the other to be a source of inspiration to become stronger and a better ninja. They are a source of hope for each other.

Sometimes, this is obvious like when Sakura reflects that Naruto makes her want to be better (after watching him defeat Neji) or when his fervent cheering helps her throw Ino out of her mind in their chuunin match.

Sometimes, it's more subtle such as Sakura being inspired by Naruto's continued determination to rescue Sasuke after the disastrous first attempt and how Sakura's own vow to rescue him together heartened Naruto.
They enjoy each other's company. Despite Sakura's worries for Naruto and both of their worries for Sasuke, they still have fun. What started as irritation on Sakura's side and whining on Naruto's has turned into friendly banter. Sakura still insults him or pops him, but it's with affectionate undertones. Sakura even enjoys some of Naruto's antics - sometimes. They've become comfortable around each other and can be themselves.
This is sort of a recap of the ones above, but it's significant in its own right. None of the above reasons for NaruSaku happened overnight. They all took place gradually over hundreds of chapters as Naruto and Sakura learned to trust each other and became comfortable around each other.
These are only brief summaries of those reasons and they aren't the only reasons to be a fan of the pairing. But they are an adequate introduction to NaruSaku.


The name refers to Iruka's description of Naruto and Sakura's strengths and weaknesses as shinobi during the chuunin exam. While both of them are excellent shinobi, those strengths and weaknesses still continue throughout part two to some extent. Naruto's biggest strengths include his stamina and chakra reserves. Sakura's biggest strengths include her chakra control which has helped her become an excellent medic nin and is even the basis for her smashy no jutsu. She has been referred to as being a genjutsu type (and hopefully, we'll get to see her do something besides dispel one someday) while dispelling a genjutsu is about the best that Naruto can hope for. So their skills complement each other.

That is not the reason for the name.

Their ninja abilities aren't particularly relevant to whether or not they should be romantically involved. Their personalities are much more important.

As illustrated in Iruka's example, Heaven and Earth are complementary elements. In a broader vein, the personalities of Naruto and Sakura are also complementary. While they share a lot of personality traits, they have opposite approaches in some areas. Since neither is right or wrong for all situations, they can also support each other as needed while their similarities allow them to appreciate the other's position. It also helps them learn from each other.

For instance, Naruto is usually rash while Sakura tends to be cautious. (However, she was very Naruto-like in her fight against Sasori.) Sakura is diplomatic while Naruto .... um, relies on persuasion in other ways.

The symbolism is appealing on another level. While the above examples simply demonstrate them as complementary, each of them are literally the other's Heaven and Earth. Both of them help the other rise above themselves and be more than they previously thought that they could be. And both of them are the rock to support the other when the going gets tough or they need encouragement. Heaven and Earth.

Iruka's description of them as Heaven and Earth is merely a bonus since it's a direct reference to them in the manga and perhaps foreshadowing.

We're all here because we're fans of Naruto, and fans of NaruSaku. And we're here to have fun. So that's really the main rule. The others are there to help make that happen.

Second, it's ok to go off-topic and get to know each other bit better, but keep it in moderation. If you want to do so for more than a few posts, then take it to someplace else - like one that's intended for that (http://forums.narutofan.com/showthread.php?t=225574).

The third one pretty much speaks for itself. Keeping a positive atmosphere in the fanclub helps make sure that all members can feel welcome and enjoy themselves here. No talking about the Anti-NaruSaku Fan Club! Think happy thoughts instead.

This is already a rule in the forums, listed in two separate places. I'm just repeating it and adding the specific comment about the ANS Fan Club because let's face it, it's not going to be getting positive comments here.

As to the fourth, we aren't an anti-fanclub of any pairing and our members' list includes fans of just about every other pairing possible in Naruto. So we want those members to also feel welcome.

None of those rules means that we can't ever speak critically of another pairing or a person. But it has to be done politely and constructively. Give reasons for the criticism. If it's something that you think that the person or fan of that pairing would be offended by, then it's probably a good idea not to say it or possibly to say it in a PM.

Calling somebody delusional is not a polite or constructive criticism.

All I Want For Christmas is NaruSaku

Since it's been an entire week in the manga without any NaruSaku moments and there's no guarantee that we'll get it in the manga for Christmas, I thought that we should make sure that we get some NaruSaku on our own. smile-big

So it's time for another NaruSaku contest!

There will be an official announcement sometime next week, but I wanted to give a heads up now.

The contest theme is holiday songs. All entries should be inspired by a holiday song - and it doesn't have to be just Christmas, but anything for this holiday season. It doesn't need to specifically include the song or overtly reference the lyrics. Here's a short list of holiday songs as suggestions to get you started, but you are welcome to use other songs.

And that they get really angry at us for no apparent reason, and that we are called "prejudice", "heretics", when most of us are members of their club, and we love both narusaku, naruhina, and narusakuhina.

oh yea, and the occasional person who would come into our thread, and say something along the lines of "Naruto and Sakura isnt going to happen. Sakura just isnt going for Naruto. Blah Blah Blah (insert crap here), and (insert reasons that make absolutely no sense). There! Try and fight that!"

And thus I would simply smile and say, "THANK YOU for contributing to our thread! Awesome debating, and we keep on growing! w00t! Please do come again! :D"

I can proudly say like I did in the NT fc's that the Naruto x Sakura fc has much more members then the Naruto and Hinata fc. Makes you think eh, why does the NaruxSakura fc always has more members then the NaruxHinata fc.

We have offically 15 more members then the NarutoxHinata fc. I dont know if i actually should count the two members that also are on this fc hehe, but i did *Cough* hokuten and pervetedsennin *cough* Actually Naruto and Hinata to me when i see those NaruxHinata pics, dont really look good next to each other. Something about Sakura's hair style and pink hair looks really nice with the blond hair of naruto. Same goes with the beautiful green eyes and the nice blue eyes they have. Also the way their faces are too hehe. That is why Naruto x Sakura look physically beautiful together. I am sure we can come up with more reasons ;)

Basically, just Hinata => Naruto (one way), Sakura => Sasuke (one way), Naruto <=> Sakura (emerging feelings on Sakura's part as well as Naruto's love).

There's still a few SasuSakuers over there! Of course, I'm not sure if they've read the manga... but I think Sakura_chan has. Come on, guys, accept that SasuSaku will NOT happen! If it were to, then why would we have all that build-up on Sakura's realisations when Naruto left to get Sasuke?

Hoku, I go for pink haired/blue eyed girl and blond/green eyed boy. ;) And of course they'd have whiskers! You just know that they'll somehow inherit Naruto's huge stamina... The girl will be just like Inner Sakura as well!

I've just made an appeal to the spirit of the NaruSaku pairing in the debate thread. :P I decided to just lay it out on why NaruHina and SasuSaku wouldn't be too good, and why NaruSaku is a really nice pairing.

Hell, if they don't even see what I'm getting at, that's their problem. ;)

I see we now have a NaruHina FC here! I'm surprised it took so long for someone to set one up. Still no SasuSaku, and I doubt there will be one because it's pretty dead and buried after Sasuke made it clear he wasn't interested in a relationship with Sakura.

You know something funny? I remember seeing that the Naruto manga was advertising something for the 4th of October. We had the RAW on that day, but no TV special or anything else. I know it's very unlikely, but what if they actually released that early and we can expect to see another this weekend? It's pretty incredible to think that there was actually a copy - and high quality - out so early before its usual release.

We can always hope...
