I will always love A Silver Mt. Zion even if I don't enjoy their latest that much, Radiohead, come on they have made so many albums that I enjoy that no matter what I will always love them and Nirvana, they stopped existing when they truly were on the top, musically that is.

I will always love Thrice, they never cease to amaze me with their music. I have not heard any album that sounds the same and/or sucks. That is promising. Ozzy Osbourne also comes to mind, until the day he dies and forever more he will always be my favorite. (Oh man, that was a little too deep for me. Am I turning emo?)

Mr.Bungle
Blind Guardian
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Deep Purple
Guns N' Roses
Iron Maiden
Those are bands that formed into the guy I am today...
Guns N' Roses and Iron Maiden made me listen to music for the first time and I got into hard rock by them. Red Hot Chili Peppers and Deep Purple was bands that I listened to almost exlusively from when I was 8 until I was 11 when I got my internet connection and explored my favorite styles. Those bands formed me and made seek for likeminded bands. Blind Guardian made like harder and faster metalbands just when I had an 80's metal and 70's art/prog rock/psycadelica period (I was really an unusuall child). Blind Guardian combined the hard distorted guitars and speed from the 80's metal and the more melodic sounds and complexity of the 70's rock. I was caught on their music and that made me seek for harder bands and complex musical bands. I found interest in Progressive metal and Gothic/Power metal. I searched alot for music then and just by a fluke, I found Mr.Bungle. That band didn't really get me at first but when I had listened through a couple of songs mainly from their first album, I was totally addicted to them. I found my way into a zillion new styles and I got the feeling that after I met Mr.Bungle, I became concious about music on a new level that I wasn't before. To quote what I read somewhere about Mr.Bungle:
''Be Careful when listening to Mr Bungle, they change they way your ears function''
That's how it is for me. It may be time to find a new love soon again but those bands really lives in my heart.
Side credits for Def Leppard too, but I never really loved all their stuff like I do with the bands I mentioned at first. But they had a big role in making me in to such a music fanatic. I listened to them, despite not know who they were, because I couldn't read. I had a tape by them that I listened to all the time when I was really really tiny. I found the tape again 2 years ago and found out it was Def Leppard I had listened to. Around then I listened to some songs by them that I just knew I recognized from somewhere. But still everytime I hear ''Miss You in a Heartbeat'' I remember the first time I listened to music.

Well, I hugged Sam beam and almost copped a feel of his bum, and he let me chill backstage with him, he even read some of my lyrics and poetry. BEAT THAT SUCKER!
Seriously, he's the nicest most down to earth guy on thisplanet. I will forever proclaim him as the new Jeuss/Muhamed/Buddah.
BEAT THAT SUCKER!
The only band I can be said to really fanboy is Radiohead (which is why I hardly ever talk about them). If their next album sounds like Backstreet Boys, I'll probably still find a way of convincing myself it's good. Sad but true.

Anyhoo, my brother got totally trashed with Motley Crue.
Then three weeks later he partied with Iced Earth, Children of Bodom and some local band.

It would be a good move my friend. Vancouver has a store dedicated entirely to heavy metal.
Seriously.
I spent almost $6000 at Scrape Records one year.
Is this the brag about meeting folks thread? In that case, I've partied with Ulver, and had the following exchange with one of them:
(His friend steps on my foot. Damn Black Metal crowd never take their boots, so it hurt a little)
Me: Ouch.
He: Sorry 'bout that, my friend is a little bit shit-faced.
Me: Well, that can happen to the best of us
He (looking at his friend): But alas, this time it has clearly not.
