Something about them I like, something about them I don't like. I can't pin point them out but they're alright. I hate Holiday though, I hear every 5 minutes -_-

Never been a fan of them actually, one of those acclimed band I could never get into. Not saying their old material isnt good, I just couldnt relate to it.

Ugh. I might like them a lot more if I wasn't hearing them every 10 minutes. They're even being played on the classic rock radio station I listen to now. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?? :crying

Solution, take a baseball bat to your radio and build up your own music collection.

New greenday annoys me. I don't know what it is, Maybe it is the "Hear it every 5 seconds ratio", I'm not sure.
They make decent punk rock though

Once a long time ago I remember liking some Greenday.
Then I heard the song a second time :)
Not too mention I have actually listened to the entire American Idiot album and it annoys the living **** out of me.
Still, I am an opinionated bastard :D

They're not bad, but they're a bit repetative with their music.

Everything that isn't American Idiot is great, I love the old green day.
I really don't like them now they seem somewhat eh annoying. They don't have that green day feel no more.
I just saw Green Day Live on tuesday!! XD was awsome =D!!

Dookie is one of my few CDs that has gotten way old and scratched up but still remains in my collection. I love Dookie :love
And The Grouch is one of my favorite songs ever. I hate cranky old people :nerve
*jkingler will punch on sight: all random fogies with scowls on their toothless faces*
I'm partial to Green Day. I'll listen to them, but strictly only once in a while =/

I saw them on the Pop Disaster tour with Blink 182 and it was great. I snuck into the pit and loved them with my blood, sweat, and tears. It was one of the greatest musical moment of my life.

Oh man, the Pop Disaster tour? That brings back some memories for me.. I remember wanting to go to that concert so bad, I might have sold my body on the streets if it meant a free ticket.
I was in what, 6th grade..? No..had to have been earlier.

Yeah, it ruled. I was in 10th grade I think. It was really, really good. I remember being so pumped after the show I thought Iwas going to have a heart attack... Good times. I've enjoyed the band throughout their musical travles. From the likes of Dookie to American Idiot. They've come a long way. I think my favorite album is Warning. I just love that album. It showed that they really grew up and didn't try to stay 'punk' forever. When you have a million dollar house, what do you rebel against? When American Idiot came out, yeah it was harder, but it had a reason, they had something important to say and it is a really good album.

She's a rebel

Green Day rocks, sadly i've never seen them play live and a lot of bands suck live. Maybe i'll see them this summer.

Its funny, everyone I talked to seemed to like Green Day until indie elitists started to rag on them. I love their older stuff. Their new stuff is decent to, although it can't compare to their older hits.
I liked Dookie and that's it.

Well, I like Green Day's latest album, I'm not at all farmiliar with their old works. I also respect Billy Joe Armstrong as a guitarst, hes got a great tone. I'm also impressed by his songwriting and lyrical skills. (btw Green Day's drummer is also very cool)

I personally love Green Day. I'm into the present songs of theirs, but I don't hate their old ones, mostly because I haven't really heard them. I bet if I would I'd like them, but at the moment I really like their newer songs.

i really liked the old green day, with songs like king for a day, warning...now, they fell into the same craphole as the likes of good charlotte and hawthorne heights...

(btw Green Day's drummer is also very cool)he's fkn awesome >_<
I grew up with their old songs with my brothers playing them so when I listen to their older music even though I don't know the album or song name (T_T) they bring back good times and so naturally I love their old music.

it's nice that you share your opinion here, but when giving a negative response if you want to be listened to it's generally a good idea to give some points to back up your argument.

Greenday is terrible
Well since he did not post points to back up his argument. I will post a few to show just why green day are highly over rated.
Their songs all consist of chord progressions that always stick to one key and over an album that chord progressions begin to repeat. In laymans terms, I am saying there is no variation in their music on one album. Every album they wrote one basic song and just made variations to it. Secondly "boulevard of broken dreams" has the exact same chord progression at a nearly identical pace as "wonderwall" by Oasis. The band obviously lack creativity.
Billy Joe Armstrong is a horrible singer. I dont know if he attempts to have that teenager voice, but he does. It is quite nasal and annoying. If I wanted to hear a pubescent male sing I would go to a junior high school talent show. I dont want to turn on the radio and hear someone sing like that.
Thirdly, with the release of American Idiot they did two things that really angered me. First of all now Billy Joe is wearing eye shadow and dyed his hair black. I thought to myself just as the emo fashion is going popular a seemingly washed up poppunk band revamp their image and further sell out to make money through Billy's new look. The shred of respect I had for the band was gone at that point. Also, they only started to write "political" lyrics at a time when the majority of people were feeling very skeptical about their nations administration. I just thought I shed some light on the reasons why people dislike them.
