Yes it is an Aphex Twin cover, it's off the Patton EP. Yes, Patton and DEP together too.

I need to re-download that EP.

I'm out for voting since I don't know any good covers, unless I dig deep into some dutch bands that might have covered stuff. I'd still like to receive the songs though ^^

System of a Down - Metro (Berlin)

I LOVE you! That was one of the ones I almost chose.

Yeah, we could make it as a separate CD/tape to accompany the album. I'm up for the idea if S&G is, which I don't blame him if he isn't.

Great Sotories Told in Music (think Johnny Cash - A Boy Named Sue, or the Highwaymen - The Road Goes on Forever)

The Foreign Exchange - most people here are from very different countries. So suggest music from your homeland...like bands that aren't known on a international level. So that means you can use songs in a different language too... ( so what you can't understand it...good songs will still be good songs even in a starnge language..)

Basically you go to this thread (http://forums.narutofan.com/showthread.php?t=64881) you nominate five tracks that you think are rare covers that not many people have heard.

You upload the songs and send them to me. After a certain amount of time I will upload all the songs that I recived and send them back to everyone who participated or simply want to hear.

After that A voting thread is created where everyone votes off some songs to make the Mixtape exacly 15 tracks long.

After this MixTape is finished we decide a diffrent theme for the next Mixtape.

Shouldnt it be more world music kinda thing? The concept of only your country is extremely limiting (unless your canadian; :shakefist @ Cata).

My primary picks were

Ravi Shankar (indian)
Taj Mahal & Toumani Diabate (american + mali)
Tomasz Stanko (Polish)
Warsaw Villiage (Ukiranian)
Tinariwen (Mali)

Limit to one country and I wont be able to join, and what about US inhabitants?

I hate to sound like a wanker, but sticking to one country in a world music concept still sucks. the entire concept is based on the diversity factor. I'd like to hear things from Eskimo music to Irish reggae. One country per person really takes the fun out of it

thus if each person chooses a country

I take back what I said about Alabama earlier... The Southeast US host the roots of blues... thus the roots of rock.

The point of this was to exchange music that you grew up around your region with others to promote musical diversity. However, the problem is if you limit yourself to your own "country", one may not find many choices. But perhaps we could do our "region". That way, moe won't be limited to only Sudanese artists. Also, if there's still nothing in your region, perhaps you could trace back your heritige... say if your grandparents were rich in Irish or Native American culture.

Also, I take back what I said about Alabama earlier... The Southeast US host the roots of blues... thus the roots of rock.
This sounds good to me. Everyone else happy?

I'm cool with that idea.. Need to find some good swedish stuff. I'm thinking about taking some really old Bellman song and some music from my hood..

You'll probably need help with the Irish music, even I only know a few.

I think between colin and I we could name...four...maybe five Irish metal bands...

Now, use any genre and that helps.

I wonder...has enyone ever heard of Irish Hip-hop?

That would be twisted.

*grins*

I'll take every genre if you don't mind. I personally have a weakness for female Irish singers.

Edit: 7 Irish metalbands down, 40 more to go. *is on dll rampage*

Oh dear, what seven?

Please let Cruachan, Primordial and Waylander be in there.

And Mael Mordha

I'm still busy. Although Scavenger, Fuktifino, Devilmakesthree and Mourning Beloveth sound pretty good.

But maybe I'll just do my own country. We got some pretty good metal here: Sk'rl, Isle of Man, Orphanage, Gorefest, Detonation, Textures...
