Cast An American Bleach Movie (Big Spoilers!)

I think Bleach would make an awesome movie or two, and could be "Americified" fairly easily, while sticking to the roots of the story. But anyhow, lets start casting shall we? Just post who you think who would play them well, and have a picture link if theyre less then semi-famous, or at least list a couple of things theyre in, and explain why they would be good for the part.

Captain Aizen- Tom Cruise
He's just got that look, he seems friendly enough, but can be total asshole, as in Collateral. He could be made to look a bit younger with make up, and what not. He's a damn good action, and would give the movie star appeal in a big way.

Ichimaru Gin- Christian Slater
Something of stretch, but I think he has something of the look, especially if he squinted the whole movie XD That and he can play a creepy psycho man perfectly, like in The Heathers.

Since Tom Cruise was in there I thought it would be better to put him as Urahara. Don't know I just think it would work.
I know one thing it might be hard to cast the females of Bleach.

No no no. Tom Cruise isnt goofy enough to Urahara. Brad Pitt would be the perfect Urahara. If you really consider all of his roles. He's got the look, the goofy smile, and the acting skills.

Well like you pointed out if you really consider all of his roles you will know that Tom could pull off anything plus goofy. Ever saw Jerry Maquire?
After thinking it over and over I decided hmmm.
Ziyi Zhang as Soi Fong- Has the height. The body. The look when she is pissed off. The fighting ability. Only question would be the whole Americanized idea speaks English but not fluently. And despite seeing her with short hair and she still looked good having the exact same hairstyle as Soi Fong.
Christian Bale as Ishida Uryuu- Give him the glasses and the hairdo of Ishida and you get Ishida. I just watched American Psycho. While yeah that doesn't have much to do but you could see where the look comes from.

Orihime was going had been an easy choice. I was going to pick one of the Olsen twins but then I found out that one is having an eating disorder. Would have choose the other but I heard the one with the eating disorder was the one that would have had an easier time with Orihime's hair. I was going to pick Lindsey Lohan but I heard she lost weight. So know I am down to Hilary Duff. I just don't think so.

Tyra Banks as Yoruichi- Oh boy I think I will be hearing it from everybody. Of course the question will be can she fight?! She could act and has humor (Fresh Prince). In fact that is where I got the idea.

Okay I will get back to ya as soon as I get some more ideas.

I was thinking that dude that plays Vader. Hayden something. Its just I keep hearing the ladies loved how he looked angry. And the way Ichigo is always having his brows like that why not? There's my input on who should be Ichigo.

Urahara = Johnny Depp. Their personas seem so similar to each other. Urahara reminds me of Johnny Depp, especially in Pirates of the Carribean. They have this semi-mysterious appeal with a slight hint of wittiness and light-heartedness. Hayden Christiansen would be good as Ichigo too!

I think Jake Gyllenhall (Bubble Boy, Day After Tomorrow) would make a good Ichigo. Hayden Christensen would probably be better as Renji.

Other than that maybe Vin Diesel as Ikkaku. Oh, and The Rock would make a great Kenpachi. Scarlett Johansen as Orihime.

Hmm... I might have a few more if I could remember the names of all the captains and lieutenants.

No. Brad Pitt = URAHARA

Can be goofy, AND hardcore at times. Can pull off the rugged-unshaved look. And is laid back enough for it to work.

yah that was the first thing i thought too... but Yoruichi's features are too sharp and 'catlike'. Halle Berry is a beautiful woman, no doubt, but she's not tall/lean enough and her features are too rounded.

Bleach is an asian style anime with some influences from spanish language and culture. An american movie version of Bleach would be stupid as well as casting caucasian actors for japanese characters. The only possibility in which you would cast caucasian actors would be the characters that you find in the Bounto arc of the anime. The whole idea is ridiculous; it's like casting asian actors for Smallville getting some asian dude to play Clark Kent. The idea to westernize this asian style anime is pointless and stupid; casting caucasian actors to play asian characters is even more stupid. You already have amazing american comic characters of caucasian descent, stop throwing ideas of westernization into something that is asian in origin.

Besides Rukia and Gin nobody in Bleach even looks Asian. Heck 99% of all Anime characters appear to be of European Decent.

I don't think it was Tite Kubo's intention to model the majority of his japanese characters with japanese mannerisms after the caucasian look. That is like me saying that Superman with his black hair and smaller eyes look asian. You would think that is absurd but you're doing the same thing with these Bleach characters. I live in the US and have visited my family in Asia countless times to have to say I disagree with what you say. I have just seen way too many asian celebrities carry looks that do resemble anime characters. But then again I'm assuming you've never been to Japan or Asia yourself so I guess I can understand why you made that comment. Maybe you are implying that Tite Kubo has a "hidden desire" to draw japanese people looking like whites. I wonder if you said this to him what he would respond to you. Given he's a 29 year old japanese guy, I think he has more pride in himself, his race, and his own culture than to immerse his work with influences from "white culture". But for now, if you have proof otherwise directly from Tite Kubo, almost 95% of the characters in Soul Society look completely asian to me and to the people I know who watch Bleach also. With the exception of the Vizards and Arrancar of course which they do look very different from the characters in Soul Society.

No it is not really being made. No current Shonen anime will probably be a movie before DBZ is one.
