View Full Version : Kallen's R2 Timeline

(I realize that all of the Kallen threads should be merged, but this is too long for me to throw into another thread.)
There are a lot of pessimistic posters that are trying to ruin the series for the rest of us. So I find myself in a familiar position…I have to once again be the voice of optimism.
I’m going to construct a timeline for Kallen. Post Season One.
First off I would like to address the Suzaku/Kallen pairing that has recently appeared on the rumor mill. A slew of people have been formulating their own theories about why it’s suddenly a possibility. I vaguely remember an interview with the director in which this pairing was asked about. The director said it would never happen. I’m sure that conversation is floating around animesuki somewhere. Another popular rumor lately is that Suzaku and Lelouch will join forces. The OP seems to hint at that as well, but that’s another thing the director claimed would never happen in his interview. So I would take both tidbits with a grain of salt.
Now onto my over-the-top season 2 timeline for Kallen:
Sound Episodes:
C.C. reveals everything to Kallen. Lelouch’s motivation, his past, the pain he has endured, everything. (Pretty shitty that this is all done off screen…but I have no doubt that these conversations are why Kallen was willing to return to the Black Knights.)
R2 Episode 1:
Kallen meets Lelouch again. He has no memories of her. She feeds him his words from the past. Lelouch disagrees with her and is put off that she would force her ideals onto him. Nevertheless he comes to her aid when the mobster (an extremely unattractive man) tries to manhandle her. She watches his chess match and supports him.
The attack begins. Kallen tries to snatch Lelouch, but loses him in the confusion. (Now that I think about it…Rolo probably used his geass to get Lelouch back.) Kallen climbs into her Guren and shows the most determined facial expression I have seen from any character all series.
Lelouch’s memories return. The Guren and the “jobber” from the 4-swords Urabe burst through the ceiling and kneel before him. Kallen doesn’t do the talking…she wants her conversation with Lelouch to be alone.
R2 Episode 2:
Kallen finally gets her chance to speak with Lelouch. She ignores his order and confronts him. She pulls a gun on him when he questions her. Her question stunned me when I first heard it…probably because we had no idea about her conversations with C.C. at the time. She accused Lelouch of geassing her and bending her heart to his will. That can be interpreted a lot of different ways. But the way I interpreted it was simple. Kallen missed Zero while he was gone. The memory of him lingered in her heart everyday. I don’t know that it indicates that she is love with him…but he has become the most important person in her life. She lost her purpose when he was gone.
The conversation continues. Kallen eventually lowers her gun, but she makes it clear that she trusts Zero and not Lelouch. At this point she has proven that she is unable to come to terms with the fact that they are one in the same. A very comical scene occurs Lelouch mentions her Playboy garb and she calls him a pervert. Apparently the insult is directed at Lelouch, not Zero. (This particular comment was seemingly only added for comedy, but I think it really hammers home how irrational her mindset was.)
Lelouch shows off some impressive chivalry by putting his Ashford Academy shirt over her shoulders. (Interestingly enough…this is the second time we have seen Kallen wearing his shirt. When women wear my clothing it’s usually because they sleep over…maybe Lelouch will be able to pull it off someday?)
The battle intensifies. Rolo shows up and is really fucking impressive. His Vincent appearing out of the elevator is still my favorite moment from the season. Rolo causes damage to Kallen and Urabe almost immediately. Urabe is killed, but not before asking Kallen to protect Zero. The earlier conversation with Lelouch is apparently enough to convince Kallen, as she prepares to sacrifice herself so that he can escape. Kallen fans across the world rejoice as the explosives are finally all set and Lelouch detonates them. (Fleecy cries out in disgust.) The Governor General is killed.
Zero appears on a worldwide broadcast and announces his return. Kallen expresses amazement over the fact that he was able to get them out of such a hopeless situation and kill the Governor General all at once.
R2 Episode 3:
Kallen discovers that C.C. was wearing the Zero costume and is a little upset. She says she doesn’t like it that the Black Knights weren’t aware of his plan. C.C. teases her by implying that she meant to say she was mad that she wasn’t included in the plan.
Kallen fanservice. Kallen’s beautiful body is shown in the shower. This is a fanservice we have seen before. But the director realizes that no one can get enough of her heavenly assets…so we are treated to it once again. Kallen steps out of the shower and notices Lelouch’s shirt. She holds it up and reminds herself that Lelouch is actually Zero. Any doubt she could have had about the fact is now history after seeing him in action.
My favorite interaction in the show occurs. C.C. teases Kallen and suggests that Kallen is actually Zero. Kallen reprimands C.C. for having fun when Zero isn’t around. Her loyalty is as impressive as ever.
Kallen and Xingke have an introduction. (I foolishly believed that romance between the two was a possibility.) Xingke begins to attack the Black Knights…Kallen and C.C. react to the news.

R2 Episode 4:
Xingke enters the “command room” and has a discussion with Kallen and C.C. CC decides that the Black Knights will take the blame for the Ambassadors death. I think Kallen is opposed to the idea of acting without orders from Zero, but she eventually goes along with it.
Guilford prepares to execute the remaining Black Knights. Kallen watches in despair. She realizes that she won’t be able to save everyone. Zero makes his entrance. Kallen is relieved that he has arrived, but worries about what he will be able to do. A 1 on 1 Knightmare Frame battle against Guilford seems hopeless.
But this is Zero we are talking about; like usual, he has a plan. Zero once again utilizes the terrain to give him side the advantage. He orders Kallen to lead the Black Knight charge.
Kallen engages one of the Glaston Knights…I think it was Alfred. She doesn’t immediately attack him though. She first informs him that he is standing in Japanese territory. (I thought this was actually a pretty interesting scene. Kallen is usually a berserker in battle. No one fights with as much aggression as her. So this was a nice reminder that she would prefer to not fight. Scenes like this are why Nunnally and Suzaku might be able to convince her to stop fighting with the Black Knights.) He attacks her despite her words and she kills him.
Kallen protects the unarmed Black Knights from the Britannian attacks.
Lelouch’s plan is a success. Kallen hugs Ougi and greets Todou and his three followers. She dissed poor Tamaki though. Seriously, why didn’t he get a hug? Just because he’s annoying? Tamaki asks Kallen about Rolo and she is unable to answer. She just admits that he was an enemy before.
R2 Episode 5:
Filler episode. The Black Knights celebrate at the beginning. CC and Kallen are having a conversation with Lelouch in his private quarters. Kallen wants to know about the pilot of the Vincent. Lelouch doesn’t tell her and she wants to know if he’s keeping a secret from her. Lelouch tells her that he’s kept their relationship a secret and she blushes out of embarrassment and tells him not to state it that way. She confirms whether or not he still wants her to be his personal bodyguard. Lelouch says “yes”.
Kallen shows up in an unusual mascot costume. Apparently she came because she knew C.C. would be causing mischief. I think that was just an excuse personally. She has sort of a tugging war with Shirley. And Lelouch’s greatest humiliation occurs as a result. Milly, Shirley, Arthur, and Kallen in her cosplay are all faster runners than him.
Kallen has a collision with Viletta and mentions to Lelouch that she had seen that woman with Ougi before. (Actually I am surprised that Ougi’s loyalty was rated so highly after this discussion.) Kallen and C.C. are both picked up by Xingke and they resemble scolded children as they sit in the back.
R2 Episode 6:
A battle to rescue Nunnally occurs. Suzaku launches and Kallen tries to protect her comrades from him. Kallen is quickly overwhelmed and begins to plummet. Her death seems imminent. Lakshata shows up with her upgrades and the Guren becomes more powerful. She joins the battle and surprises Guilford, Anya, and Gino. She immediately attacks Suzaku. Her attacks are fierce like usual. Nunnally’s transport is destroyed and Kallen saves his life. (Lelouch never thanks her…what a douche.)
R2 Episode 7:
Nunnally is named the Governor General. A worried Kallen tries to contact Lelouch. Lelouch even has Kallen listed as Q1 on his phone. He destroys the phone instead of answering. Lelouch has clearly lost his mind. He abuses his geass and prepares to inject himself with refrain. Kallen stops him and basically implies that she will do anything for him. Lelouch asks for comfort and leans in to steal a kiss from her lips. (Kallen wants it. Her lips wouldn’t have quivered the way they did if she didn’t.) Kallen slaps the hell out of Lelouch. Even though Kallen wants it…she wants it to be meaningful. Remember during season one when they tried to find what Arthur had taken? Kallen mentioned that she had never had her first kiss. Still, this was a near miss. It wouldn’t have been as meaningful since it wasn’t mutual. Kallen’s heart really broke during this scene. And it’s one of the reasons that Lelouch became more determined. She ran away and Lelouch was going to go after her but didn’t because Rolo arrived.
Kallen and C.C. have another talk when Kallen returns. They briefly wonder if someone else could become Zero. C.C. makes it clear that the mantle is extremely heavy.
Lelouch shows up and saves the Black Knights from the Britannian military. He surprises everyone by accepting Nunnally’s SAZ.
R2 Episode 8:
Kallen knows about Lelouch’s geass and she knows Nunnally personally. Despite that, she appears to be opposed to the idea of joining the SAZ and is ready to question him on his decision when he returns.

R2 Episode 9:
Kallen and Lelouch have a conversation about whether or not they can trust Diethard.
Kallen asks Lelouch about his plan to capture China. She is visibly relieved when she hears his business-like response. He’s his old self again. This pleases Kallen greatly. Like usual…she’s clumsy around Lelouch and ends up falling on top of him. They almost kiss again. Once again, there are circumstances that keep it from being meaningful. It would have been an accident. Neither party initiated it. Maybe the third time will be the charm? Maybe the third time will be mutual? Kallen asks him why he has returned. He asks her to return to Ashford Academy with him. They laid down together for a long time. Neither of them were in any hurry to get up. CC interrupted though.
Lelouch invades the banquet between China and Britannia. He brings Kallen with him as his bodyguard. He agrees to remove his mask if he loses a chess match to Schneizel. This worries Kallen because she knows the two of them are brothers.
Nina freaks out during the match and insults Kallen. Kallen shows some remorse, but seems resigned to carry on.
R2 Episode 10:
Kallen seems a bit jealous when she sees Lelouch and C.C. enter the service elevator together.
Xingke comes out and obliterates several Black Knight knightmare’s. Kallen launches her frame even though the battery is low. Several people believe she launched because of the jealousy she displayed earlier. Her Knightmare runs out of power and Xingke captures her. Lelouch has a rare outburst and promises to save her. Both Kallen and C.C. seem astonished to hear such a response from him. Diethard explains that they have to abandon her and follow their original plan. Lelouch uses ridiculous logic and decides to try and save Kallen.
There is a scene of Kallen in her cockpit in which she fondly says Lelouch’s name. She didn’t say Zero…she said Lelouch. To me…this demonstrates how her feelings have transitioned.
R2 Episode 11:
Kallen is transported to the Avalon. Suzaku personally takes her. He shows no emotion while staring at her or her Knightmare. The Black Knights win the battle. Lelouch follows Xingke into the Chinese Federation ship and asks about Kallen immediately. He is pissed off that Suzaku of all people has her.
R2 Episode 12:
Nunnally surprises Kallen in prison. When Kallen’s cell opens up…she seems like a woman that has given up hope. She doesn’t seem to believe that Zero is going to rescue her.
R2 Episode 13:
No appearance
End

Nice to see that I can still contribute humor, eh?
My writing turned poor near the end because I really wanted to complete it all. (lol, I spent two hours at working typing this and watching Code Geass. I'm a fucking rebel! :P)
Sometimes it's better to analyze all of the facts at once before jumping to conclusions. When I really stop and look at all of her scenes...it seems apparent to me that she still has the occasional doubts about the path she is on. But it's also obvious that she cares about Lelouch quite a bit. She could never actually hurt him if it came down to it.
I luled throughout the entire intro.
Great thread Rukia.

I don't think Kallen is even part of the plot anymore...
I feel the same way about Suzaku too.

Eh.. the writers are just using her capture as a way to resolve some school stuff, while including her in very very small scenes to show she hasn't been forgotten about. Suzaku did get screen time in the last ep, so you can't say he's out of the plot. And kallen will be back involved with the plot again shortly, I assure you. If not by next episode, then the one after that. I'm pretty sure that after the last episode, the plot is going to start moving along at a much faster pace than it has been for the past couple episodes.

after he has dealth with the cult and he has cooled down a bit(or not) he'll save Kallen or at least kallen will be back in the spotlights.

I'm pretty sure rescuing kallen is higher up on his priority list right now than anything to do with the geas cult. Think about it. He's just lost another person who is close to him, when he already couldn't bare to lose anyone else. If he leaves kallen alone for too long, there's a decent chance she could end up executed, so he's going to be wanting to rescue her asap, or he risks losing one of the few people left in the world he is close to.

hmm sorry no it isn't:notrust, the next episode is about geass and that cult, hens the title: "geass hunt" .
Turn 14: Geass Hunt 「ギアス 狩り」, July 13th
Shirley, whose fate was twisted by geass, died because of geass. In grief of her death, Lelouch decides to annihilate the indirect cause, the organization which studies geass- The Geass Cult. With the information from Rolo and Jeremiah, he found out the Cult’s headquarter and charges with the Black Knights. The person waiting inside is the young leader of the Cult, who has immortal powers same as C.C., and is the older brother of the Emperor of Britannia, V.V.
(Isn’t the better indirect cause himself? As in, he should never have come back to Ashford? And why not the direct cause, Rolo?)
Turn 15: The World Of C 「C の 世界」 , July 20th
In the middle of the battle with V.V., Lulu is transferred to the mysterious World of C of the mystery. He has to fight with the enemy who has powers beyond all knowledge. When Lulu is in a desperate situation, the one who shows up before him is…
(Shirley. Or Loli C.C.. I’m down with either.)
Turn 16: Union of Nations, Resolution No.1 「超合集国決議第壱號」 , July 27th
The plan for founding a union of nations to stand against Britannia is realized by uniting 47 countries together, centered on the United States of Japan and the United States of China. As a result, the world is divided into two: Britannia and the Union of Nations. The world situation comes to a new phase.
(Zaft and Earth Alliance or Zeon and Federation or everyone and Celestial Being all over again. Can we get a Sunrise show that doesn’t turn into just two factions fighting against each other?)
Turn 17: The Taste of Soil 「土 の 味」 , August 3rd
In Area 11, the battle between the Black Knights and the strongest force of Britannia army is about to begin. At this time, to accomplish a certain purpose, Lelouch heads toward the Kururugi Shrine, where Suzaku awaits alone. Holds all kinds of thoughts in their confrontation, what is the destiny waiting for them?
(Hopefully not a Suzaku x Lulu hot tub scene.)

Alright,Reaper you don't have to keep reposting the spoilers :zaru,if people were really interested they will go the Spoiler Thread.
----------------------------------------------------------
Anyways on the Kallen R2 Topic,it has been said that her Knightmare-Frame's name resembles something off of the Hindu religion, and since Raksharta is Indian,it must've been her that as made the newly type Guren. Now so why upgrade a Knight-mare Frame for someone that is fighting on the side of Britannia,it just doesn't work out. Kallen is going to be rescues in the next 2-3 episodes,I'm willing to bet.

I wouldn't be surprised if he named it that as a tribute to Rakshata.
I'll still stick with my original opinion regarding the upgraded Lancelot and Guren.I think it's a joint venture. Suzaku and Kallen will be on the same side somehow and Lloyd and Rakshata will collaborate on the upgrades. I still think it will be Kallen joining the Britannian side though.

Well I figured this would be the place to ask this... In season one episode 9, who was that blond woman in Kallen's house? Was she her step-sister or something? The step-mother. Kallen's father divorced her mother and married a Britannian woman after the Japanese lost most of their rights. I suppose he felt pressure to do so. As I am sure you have noticed...the Britannians consider the Japanese to be inferior.

the Britannians consider the Japanese to be inferior
then why would Kallen join them? The only "logical" reason is that she was geassed.
And you are right about the Lloyd respects Rakshata part, so it wouldn't be strange if he named it that as a tribute to Rakshata. But on the other hand, a britannian machine with a hindoe name :huh.... hmmm

And you are right about the part, so it wouldn't be strange if he named it that as a tribute to Rakshata. But on the other hand, a britannian machine with a hindoe name :huh.... hmmmKallen would join for the same reason Suzaku (100% Japanese) did. Neither Kallen or Suzaku believe that Britannia is 100% evil. Lelouch doesn't even believe that! They went to school with Britannians and made friends. It's almost like this glimpse is enough to prove that the younger generation hasn't been tainted yet.
It's already apparent that Suzaku is getting treated better. People respect him and obey his orders. Even Guilford made an interesting comment a few episodes ago. He suggested that Suzaku should try to find time to go to Milly's graduation. I think it was done to show how much progression Suzaku has made so far.
Suzaku believes in his path, Euphemia believed in it, and now Nunnally believes it. I think Kallen will be just another in a long line of people important to Lelouch that he finds himself against.
What does that say about Lelouch's cause if all of the important people in his life think he is wrong?

I see where you come from but still, Kallen is very devoted to zero as you can see/hear in episode 7.
Also why do you think he's respected, because of his actions against britannia.

R2 Episode 14:
Nunally makes Kallen wear a dress that really accentuates her cleavage. (I still think Nunnally is faking her blindness...she just wants to see Kallen's sexy body. :hehee)
Kallen pretends to be surprised to learn that Nunnally is a Princess. Nunnally apologizes to Kallen for not telling the truth. Kallen does the same. I actually think Kallen is apologizing for multiple reasons here. First off, her membership in the Black Knights. Next, she is apologizing for pretending to not know that Nunnally was a Princess. And finally, I think she is apologizing in case Nunnally asks her a question about Lelouch that she is unable to answer.
Nunnally shirts the convo to Ashford Academy and mentions how she has been told to not contact Milly or any of the others. Kallen sits there with the knowledge that they wouldn't remember her anyway. Kallen asks "what kind of brother was Lelouch?" And mentions to Nunnally that she's curious since she used to have a brother. (I wonder if this is foreshadowing...will Nunnally soon be someone that "used" to have a brother?) Nunnally has as much faith in Lelouch as ever. I'm glad she doesn't know of all the tragedy he has created.
Suzaku interrupts this exchange and refers to Kallen by her prisoner number. Nunnally looks uncomfortable about this. She has been uncomfortable by several decisions her subordinates have made this year. I wish she had a little more confidence in herself.
Suzaku informs Kallen that Shirley is dead. Kallen is stunned by the news. He lets her know about the cause of death being suicide. Kallen thinks this is ridiculous. The Shirley she knew would never kill herself. Suzaku agrees and implies that she must have been murdered by someone that has the ability to make it look like suicide. Kallen gasps...she instantly realizes the implications. Suzaku confirms that he thinks Lelouch is the culprit.
Suzaku opens Kallen's cell and steps in. He believes that Lelouch is once again Zero. He refers to him as a criminal. He informs Kallen that all of the evidence confirms that Lelouch is innocent. But Suzaku refuses to stand around and let Lelouch commit anymore tragedies if he is indeed terrorist. Kallen cuts Suzaku off and repeats that she doesn't know Zero's identity. (Suzaku's words weren't enough for her to give Lelouch up apparently.) Suzaku throws away his old mentality and is prepared to inject Kallen with refrain to get the truth. Kallen is scared to death by this prospect.
Fin
So what happens next? Honestly, I hope Kallen just gives up Lelouch's secret. He doesn't deserve her loyalty. If there is one thing I don't want to see...it's that needle penetrating Kallen's flawless skin. :cry

once again well written but I would interpret this entirely different, instead of dropping him she will hang on to him in the hope that she can get out and confront Lelouch with the question whether or not he killed her.
And why do I think that? Because she also did that last time(episode 25,episode 1 R2). instead ofdropping him forever she rescued him and confronted him.
But I totally agree on the last part. :nod
