You're referring to the first episode of Naruto Shippuuden, correct?

You're not supposed to quite understand it yet. That scene is from an episode that won't be shown for around a year from now. The anime team decided to show bits and pieces of it early in order to raise the hype.

Scenes were left out, basically.

If you want to know what happens, you're going to have to wait till the anime gets to that arc (it's the second arc of Part II) or you can always read the manga.

I assume you're referring to Sasuke's ability to suppress the Kyuubi's chakra.

We don't know the answer to that question just yet. Kishimoto still hasn't revealed the original purpose of the Sharingan or the reason why Sasuke made the "Demon With Knowledge of Sharingan = Kyuubi" connection.

His suppression ability may just be limited to the Kyuubi and not all bijuu.

the one-tailed beast is Shukaku, gaara was the host, and that is controlling sand: pretty obvious..
the two-tailed demon cat, yugito was host, uses fire and is from the land of lighting (wat u are asking?)
the tree tailed pwrs are unkown but was seen in the water..
the other three atasuki have are unknown then there is kyuubi ofcourse…

Tale in the Legend of the Tailed Beasts: Raijuu, a bijuu in the form of weasel, has four legs and very sharp claws. Its cry sounds like thunder. It was originally the god of Thunder, but because of Yamata no Orochi’s power, it was transformed into a beast. Raijuu can release a huge amount of eletricity for battle assistance.
Situation in the Ancient War of the 9 Gods: Battled 5 times; 2 Wins, 3 Losses

(Now the confusion starts. This is supposed to be Kakashi’s move, but the way of writing may be different from the actual jutsu, and Kishimoto probably changed this legend to fit the story anyway). What actually happens is that the technique counters the lightning released by Raijuu by cutting it, making the beast receive its own attack, and become severely wounded. (Thus the name lightning edge.) He then is sealed by Sarutobi with the “Tool of Power: Hidden Thunder Prison” into the seal in the Thunder Shrine.

Personal notes: If this is right and we go by speculation, then could Kakashi have battled with the Raijuu jinchuuriki before? Raijuu also resembles the Pokemon Raikou.
More info about Raijuu: Raiju is also depicted as the companion of Raiden, the Shinto god of lightning. While the demon is generally calm and harmless, during thunderstorms, it becomes agitated and leaps about in trees, fields, and even buildings (trees that have been struck by lightning are said to have been scratched by Raiju's claws).
Another of its peculiar behaviors is sleeping in human navels. This prompts Raiden to shoot arrows at Raiju to wake the creature up, thus harming the person in whose belly the demon is resting. Superstitious people therefore often sleep on their stomachs during bad weather. Other legends say that Raiju will only hide in the navels of people who sleep outdoors.

During the final part of the Chuunin Exam, when Naruto summons the Kyuubi chakra, he attacks Neji running head-on into his Kaiten. In both the manga and the anime we see an explosion (presumably from the collision of chakras) and a huge cloud of dust is kicked up, but there is something I don't get. This all happens on the ground, right? So what are those two things which streak from the upper right and upper left corners into the center of the dust cloud?

So, you've watched up to episode 135 then? If so, you can skip to episode 220 of Naruto (it both ends the fillers and gets the plot back onto the real plot) and then the first episode of Naruto Shippuuden.

The whole Konohamaru thing (though I think it was very good filler), the way Sakura met Naruto, and some other tidbits.

Other way around. Yuura is truly loyal to Sasori. He had the seal put on him so that he would forget about Sasori and wouldn't raise any kind of suspicion (becoming the ultimate sleeper agent), until the seal would break and he would remember Sasori's orders.

Maybe.

Lee is what is called a 'Jobber.' That means that, while he's strong, his entire purpose is to go up against stronger opponents to show how strong they are.

-For all intensive purposes, they seem to be. Hence why they have to be sealed to be gotten rid of.

-Gaara's demon was sealed in him with a different method (remember that the jutsu the fourth used to seal the kyuubi was invented by him, so obviously not every demon was sealed this way)

-Because Kishimoto thought it would be cool to have a half-plant guy or a half-shark guy.

-Because Rock Lee is used by Kishimoto to illustrate the importance of hard work. If he won all of the time, he wouldn't be a great example of perseverance. Because of this, Kishimoto always pairs him up with someone who is ridiculously indestructible in order to give Lee opportunity to display how hard a person can work to achieve a goal.

-It was Sasuke. The way it appeared in the manga was more or less the same. The explosion was only seen above ground, so it wasnt shown exactly what happened. However, it is safe to assume that Sasuke caused the explosion somehow.

-It was a technique called "Amaterasu", which is also the name of the Japanese goddess of the sun. People have reasoned that it was done with the mangekyou because he has another mangekyou-based technique called "Tsukuyomi" which is the name of the Japanese god of the moon, who is Amaterasu's sibling.

I hope that answers some of your questions. And I apologize to anyone who already answered questions I tackled, I didn't take the time to read the rest of the posts before mine.

1. They are spread out all throughout so it would be hard to answer this. Don't worry about it, they didn't change a whole hell of a lot.

2. Already answered but yah. The seal was placed by Sasori so that Yuura would forget about him. When it broke he retained his memories but remembered his past loyalty to Sasori and that he was on a mission to gather information for him. It was there so that it would be impossible for him to be suspected as a ███ because in theory he was consciously unaware that he was for 99% of it.

4. To answer your question with logic. No. The Kyuubi no yoko was sealed with the Yondaime's technique which, for all we know, only he and the third knew. There may be others (or I may be forgetting something). So, since that technique kills the user and the two (that I can remember) users are dead for known reasons, it is obvious that the Shukaku was not sealed in a similar way. It will be explained.

5. They were all inducted for some special talent of thiers. Itachi for His Tsukiyomi and Amaterasu, Kisame for his sword... the others... you'll see why later. It has a reason just know that. Itachi is fairly normal in my eyes... calculated mass-murderer perhaps but other then that. You'll see why they are freaks... Kisame I don't know though, just Kishi's way of adding to the effect perhaps?

Though for the life of me I cant figure out Tobi... He's a good boy.

6. Was answered before. He was being used as an indication of the strength of other characters. The problem is these type of characters tend to get overused(abused) a bit.

8. Amaterasu or the goddess of the sun... Essentially he has the ability to create black fire that ridiculously hot and that burns for 7 days and nights. As was previously stated, Tsukiyomi or the god of the moon is his, for all intensive purposes, Mind-rape no jutsu.

Question 1 is difficult to answer properly. Some parts (like the Konohamaru) are indeed "filler" since they weren't in the manga at all. Other things occured in the manga, but differently. For instance, Naruto didn't meet Shikamaru and Temari in Tsunade's office, and Tsunade didn't tell Naruto and Sasuke to take the bell test again, it was Kakashi's idea. as a matter of fact, in the manga, Naruto met Shika/Tema when he and Sakura were walking around AFTER the bell test. So yeah, a lot of stuff happened differently in the manga, but isn't filler.

And I don't know why people complain about it so much either. We KNOW what the alternaitve is. We just had nearly 2 years of it! So I think expanding on the manga-based material is a wonderful idea. Besides, they did it in part I too. The 85 weeks of filler just proves that they didn't do it enough!

Hidan kills Asuma. Right around chapter 326 is when he deals the finishing blow, and 328 is when he actually dies, if you want to see for yourself.

The technique in the Narutoverse is called "Tsukuyomi" where the kanji (月読) spell out "tsuku-yomi".

The god of the moon in Japan's legends can be called both "Tsukiyomi" (月夜見) and "Tsukuyomi" (月読). The kanji for the former is spelled out "tsuki-yo-mi".

People mix up the names when it comes to Itachi's jutsu because of this reason. Still, Itachi's jutsu has always been called "Tsukuyomi", and that is the only way to say it in the Narutoverse.

I don't know if anyone else saw this, but when I watched Naruto Shippuden (sp?) 1, they found Sasuke(Naruto, Sakura and Sai), and he grabbed Naruto and was getting ready to stab him. This was before the actual episode got started though. Kyuubi then spoke to Naruto, and then Sasuke used his sharingan to penetrate Naruto's mind. Sasuke then spoke to Kyuubi, and after he put his hand on it, Kyuubi dissolved. Does this mean he destroyed it? I know he probably hasn't, but I haven't seen Naruto use Kyuubi's chakra in episodes 1-3.

Sasori is a puppeteer like Kankurou. He is currently "wearing" a protective puppet. The real Sasori doesn't look like that.

Katon Gokyaku no jutsu is a simple fire attack, anyone who can use fire can learn it. The Uchiha clan just specialized in fire.

ya... i checked out the seal... and in the vid that i saw... Naruto Episode 221 Shippuuden Episode 1 FULL posted by blalol... just so we can be on the right page... at 7:06 there is a full shot of the seal... and i don't think it looks like there is a piece missing... just the fact that you are looking at it at an angle, so it's just how it is drawn... and im not quite sure if that was what Jiraiya ment... i think he was just talking in a sence that the seal is loosing it's power, and the Kyuubi might be able to overcome it easier and leak more and more chakara out.

Yes, the two are one and the same; according to the manga, Shuukaku was once a Sand Priest. However, it eventually ended up in it's current form (through methods/reasons unknown; all it said was that Shuukaku was once a Sand Priest, not how the Sand Priest became Shuukaku).

1. And no, Gaara and Naruto are not cousins. They are two characters of similar yet diverging themes. Both of them were hated upon birth because of their demon inside. The KazeKage (Gaara's father) and 3rd Hokage were good friends (although Kazekage was going to betray the Hokage and instead got killed by Orochimaru). He's not related to the 4th Hokage, who is most likely Naruto's father.

actually what you said may be somewhat correct.... They may be called cousins due to translation aspects... i know that when translating into english, they usually get quite a many things messed up and they may be called things that wern't ment to be called. but it still may be made sense of... so this is how it may have been... recall way back when... let your mind take you back through the episodes.... way back... way back to the chunnin exams.... you can recall hinata fighting neji... she is getting beat pretty bad... yet she is putting up one hell of a fight... :P but you are almost there... go back just alittle more... just before the fight, where the taunting begins... hinata calls neji something that makes many of the kids call upon many questions... this is when she calles neji her brother.... but anyway they are not brother and sister as much as they are just cousins... her father and his father are brothers... so that was one thing where you can see that these things may be used to cause interest.... so now we go to naruto and the early episodes of the shippuuden... ill spoiler this for those who have yet to get there... So when naruto finds out that gara has been caught... he gets a sort of feeling that makes him feel that he must help garra... this feeling would be something that a brother may get for one another when one is in danger... or maybe the feeling that a "cousin" may get with anther cousin.... now there is the fact that naruto and garra both are Jinchūriki. the fact that they both have the biju within them may be the relating factor. -san is the equivalent of Mr. or Mrs. It's used a lot in formal situations, and it shows respect.
-sama is a greater version of -san. It shows even more respect. It'd be used towards people of a much higher rank than you, like the Hokage.
-kun is (ok, here's where I have to check. =P)...

-kun is a suffix usually used for boys, but once in a while for girls, too. It expresses familiarity or endearment. It's also sometimes used by men among friends, or when addressing someone younger or of a lower station.
-chan is used to express endearment, mostly towards girls. it is also used for little boys, pets, and even among lovers. It gives a sense of childish cuteness.

I was wondering if anywhere in the manga there is something definitive that a character named arashi exist? I came across the name on anothers site as well as here but found nothing speaking about something this character did or said. I read the debates surrounding the scroll for the toad summoning, is there anything besides this.

Also, i read on one of the boards here that there was a picture of the 4th standing on Gbunta while fighting the Kyuubi; yet i dont remeber seeing such a picture in the manga? If it exist what chapter is it in.

Often time in the manga their will be a character that you would think is speaking however in the lil voice box there is a vertical series of dots...what does that mean?

Also i get the impression from reading a few post that Kishi and the anime team/producers dont collaborate? I know there may be very good reasons for this, and have very limited knowledge about the innner workings of a TV production, however it still seems almost a handicap to the anime. Anyone care to enlighten me?

No. Arashi was just a joke a scanalation group put in the chapter when Naruto signed the toad contract. Just a joke, nothing more.

Second question, in the anime (episode one) we see the Fourth standing on Gamabunta but the details are pretty limited, as it's shot from the distance.

Thirdly, are you referring to this "....."? As that's usually just expressing a pause or can be used to make something sound dramatic. Example: "I'm going to possess him and with that, my ultimate goal will soon be achieved...."

Fourth, it seems Kishimoto doesn't always work (if at all) with the animators and writers. He stated he never liked the idea of a kunai gattling gun in the movie. (or something along the lines he wasn't fond of it) So yeah, mainly the animators stick to the anime and Kishimoto sticks to the manga. Though I'm sure Kishimoto gives occasional input or guidelines on some things to make sure they're represented correctly. (Let's not go to the fillers with this statement...XD)

No; that is just a guess as to what the Fourth Hokage's name is suppose to be, by using the name that should be his on the Frog Contract in the chapter where Naruto first signs it. However, the name is illegible and Arashi is nothing more than a mere guess as to what his name is supposed to be; that could be his name or it could be something entirely different. Due to the illegibility of the text, it's impossible to know for certain what his name is.

I don't remember what chapter that's in, but I do distinctly remeber there being a picture of the Fourth on top of Gamabunta's head.

That just means that the character has no comment and didn't say anything (which could be for any number of reasons; they don't know how to respond what a character just said, they are deep in thought, ect.).

It's just that Kishimoto is to busy to work for him. Getting a manga chapter out each week takes up a lot of his time, leaving him with very little free-time. He gets together with them every now and then, but due to his limited amount of time and the anime team's own busy schedule, it's more due to how it can be hard for them to meet than they don't want to.

Yeah I normally get my manga vols. from lurk on IRC, but the bots are down due to moving. I was looking for the volume to dl so I can read them anytime. No, that's Tsukuyomi, which is a jutsu you need the Mangekyou Sharingan to perform (which Sasuke has no indication of having). Plus, Tsukuyomi is a genjutsu; it isn't real. However, what was happening with Sasuke and Orochimaru is very real. If anything, it's the same thing Sasuke did to see the Kyuubi within Naruto, whatever that abillity is.

Actually, there's some canon after 135. I believe there's some in 142. The beginning of episode 220 is filler- but there's canon at the end of it. After that, you'll be set to head into Shippuuden. =)

yea i wondered the same. BUT I believe, after seeing what people have written down what the handseals are, and comparing it to episodes- in the anime they shorten the seals (or longer in the case of the bell test) when they feel like it. I dont think they care that much about the accuracy of the seals, just as long as it looks somehwhat familiar

I'm not sure what you mean with "a fast one". The ritual to extract Gaara's bijuu took three days. AL never actually fought against Gaara, it was Deidara who defeated him, rendered him unconscious and kidnapped him.

Well that is because Sarutobi Asuma (the Jounin) and Sarutobi Sandaime (the Hokage) are actually related. Asuma is the son of the 3rd Hokage. Sarutobi is their family name. Unlike the western society, the japanese culture requires your family name first, then your own. So in english dubbed Naruto you might hear Naruto Uzamaki, but in the original japanese version it'll be Uzamaki Naruto, stating Naruto's family or clan name, Uzamaki first. So the Jounin and the Hokage are actually (in english dubb) Asuma Sarutobi and.....Sarutobi. I don't think anyone knows Sandaime's first name though :huh. Thats another Naruto mystery for ya. Eh, the chance of Yondaime being the leader of Akatsuki is very slim, IMO. Everything that has been revealed about him thus far only points against him being Yondaime. So, at least for now, the chanes of Yondaime being the Akatsuki Leader are extremely slim.

But then again,
As we recently learned in the manga, Konohamaru, a genin, can use Kage Bunshin now. And since Gaara is, or at least was, the Kazekage, it's not too unreasonable to assume that if Konohamaru could use it, that so could Gaara.

Anyway, even if he could, he probably wouldn't really use them, as you said, since they're not really his style. Gaara's more likely to just stick to using Sand Bunshins than Kage Bunshins, even if he can use the latter.

He can use his Sand clones just as effectively, no doubt. He is a Kage, I'm sure he can employ quite afew tricks with them.

If i remember the first episode clearly, it ended like that because that scene was from a later time, but they put that scene first to reintroduce sasuke.

So the conclusion of that sword about to hit naruto would be seen later when that actual arc is place. So that part isnt over yet.

this part was in another arc. its the arc after the current arc that is happening on tv right now the rescue gaara arc. if you really wanted to go read the manga, then you'll be up to speed with the story. manga=greatness
