You should read ahead in the manga, it's much better.
It also takes a while to get used to reading the manga, I found that because Naruto is about fighting and it's kind of strange not seeing fights animated. However, the quality of both the story telling and drawings is much higher in the manga than the anime and if you liked the anime I don't see why you wouldn't like the manga. Maybe you should give it another chance?

US Shounen Jump is up to chapter 275 while the North American manga volume is up to 29.

I'd recommend the manga. You get more of the Kishi side than the filler side.

It takes time to adapt to the Manga.

and once you do it's definitely worth the short, awkward adjustment period. In my opinion, the art is much better too.

The manga is your true source of inside info, it started the anime after all. Me myself I'm lazy and prefer to watch the episodes but when I'm startled or in the dark I flp to the chapter to see my needed insights.

If anything, the anime is deceiving.

Teh anime is geared towards a younger audience, people who need big flashy colors and such to enjoy a story. The manga needs readers to enjoy the storyline and have an imagination

I prefer the anime, because you wouldn't have to use your imagination. You just sit back and watch it. But I'm a curious person and I do read the manga, which is also good, and it doesn't have any fillers. (thank God)

Using your imagination is something you do by FORCE? You actually pay effort into it?
Just curious, is it tiring for you? Because I use my imagination whether I want it or not, pretty much every single moment of my life.

I didn't use the word FORCE, I just like to watch something instead of reading something. :wink

==Perhaps he rather enjoys seeing the battles pan out in actual movement. Imagination goes a long way, but rarely can it replace actual animation.
If it were that easy, the anime would have never been made.

the Anime is much better because it has actual movement. and also the Anime has more story than the manga because it has filler so it shows the full story.

I anime is more deceiving. Tsunade only needed one Punch to KO Orochimaru, but the anime took away from her brute strength by making her constantly punch him.
My biggest deception was that Neji officially only does 64 palms :(

I think the Part 1 anime is much better than the Part 1 manga for several reasons. A lot of the Part 1 manga has crappy artwork and the anime has awesome art, animation, and one of the best BGM tracks I've ever heard. It does an utterly fantastic job of bringing out the emotion. But the manga is better in some aspects since the anime is censored. You have Naruto flicking people off, Zabuza chopping off Gato's head, more gore, blood, etc etc.
On the other hand, I think the Part 2 manga is better than the Part 2 anime. The art in the Part 2 manga has much improved since Kishimoto's earlier work. That's a big PLUS. The story and pacing is obviously much better in comparison to the anime to. The anime had a big decrease in art/animation in Part 2, crappy pacing and now more filler. Even the soundtrack isn't that great anymore. There are some good tracks, but just not as good as Part 1. And it seems that the BGM music in Shippuden is even somewhat built for its slow pacing. Its just annoying.
So...
Part 1 Anime: Good pacing, hardly any filler(damn near all of it takes place AFTER the main cannon story arc of Part 1), and a great soundtrack.
Part 1 Manga: Good pacing, absolutely no filler, much more violent/etc. But... the art in a lot of the earlier chapters sucks and it's just not as epic as the anime.
Part 2 Anime: Crappy pacing, not-so-fantastic art/animation, filler being incorporated into cannon plot, not-so-fantastic soundtrack.
Part 2 Manga: Good pacing, absolutely no filler, great art.

I prefer the manga all the way through. I don't really like the anime, unless I'm bored or something.
I don't really like TV anyway. I suppose I rely on my imagination, and watching the anime takes a lot away from that, and i find I can't enjoy it as much.

that makes no sense, it doesn't show the "full story" it shows a made up bit that has no bearing on character development.

True enough. It's not the "full story". It's just "more story". If there were to be a filler arc that elaborated more on a cannon story aspect and was worked on/approved of by the author, then maybe you could call it the "full story". But filler is nothing more than added story written for the sole purpose of making time for the manga chapters. They're not written by the author and add nothing to the story.
Anime is much more deceiving LOL

yes it does add more to the story and it is the true story.

I am closing this thread. We could go round and round on this subject, but this area was really created to discuss the manga. It's sad that this thread is busier than the ones discussing the actual manga.
