i think all of the guys watching the anime are wanting this ^_^ i think that they're all looking forward to watching the "how it happened" flashback ^_^

gin couldn't have killed aizen. remember the red haired guy's flashbacks? gin was aizen's vice captain. i don't think that they would resort to killing each other even if they strongly disagree with something. has anybody mentioned that it could've been a hollow inside of a shinigami? (remember the flashback to when rukia killed te guy she had a crush on) who knows how many of those are still in soul society?

hollows aren't stupid. if i was their leader i would send spies to sabotage their base (ichigo fighting the captains is really a good scapegoat to weaken the shinigami)

I dont think he was killed. When the captins use their powers, people can fell their reiatsu and can also tell who's it is. A captain will use alot of their powers to fight, so some one would have felt the captins reiatsu but no one did (i think). I'm guessing its one of Aisen's Zanpakutou powers. I think His faking the death? to find out about the stuff he was on to?

Oooooo mentioning that it could be one of Aizen's soul slayer powers is very interesting indeed, because we don't know wtf it does in the anime, since he died too fast for it to be revealed. But wtf could his power be lol making dead bodies of himself :P sounds pretty lame, probably something else maybe it turns off his "body" or something in order to think people he's dead O_o for him to get information on who the bad guy is or something, to sneak around undetected.

Uh-oh), and Don Kanonji.

But the anime screwed it up by showing Kon still on Earth with a non-evil Yuzu and Don Kanonji! How could they do that?! Fools.

It might be Ichimaru, but.. as lots of people already said - it's too obvious.
So my guess goes to Kurotsuchi Mayuri (squad 12's captain), why? first of all - he's evil, and didn't have much screen time as others, which makes him mysterious and suspicious in my opinion.

Are we all forgetting that Ishida (Uryuu) had a huge battle with Mayuri (12th captain)? Mayuri even released his bankai. Not one shimigami came to Mayuri's aid. And on top of that, Ishida (while hurt) made it all the way to dawn before running into Tousen.

Aizen could have easily had a huge battle without anyone noticing.

is mayuri the one with the robot arm? he couldn't do it. he wasn't even able to beat ishida how can he beat another captain? besides aizen died because he was stabbed, not poisoned like mayuri's bankai does.

I'm not saying that Mayuri is the murderer. I'm saying that we cannot rule out the idea that Aizen was in a huge battle before he died. Just because no one noticed a fight, it does not mean that a fight did not happen (as seen by the battle between Ishida and Mayuri)

Someone said the same thing a few pages back. Though that's impossible because the 4th Division Captain, Unohana Retsu, checked the body and said it was without any doubt Aizen's true body.

Basically Gin seemed like the best option at the time, but i always like where its the not obvious one...i always back the under-dog in any fight, so i always go for the desperate red-herrings first...so at this time i believed Aizen was killed by Hitsuguya...even though hes like the kool kid, i want him to reveal himself as the ebildo-er...so badass...

Ok, I have read most of this thread and noticed one thing:
Noone seriously suspects Urahara Kisuke and here comes my reasoning..
Okay, Kisuke was as we know a captain, so he is powerful enough to take Aizen out. For some reason, he left SS and his captain post, maybe this has to do with Aizen? So, after sending Ichigo & CO to SS he sneaks in (after faking he couldn't) and when all the ruckus really starts he kills aizen. Ofcourse The cat-woman yuroichi (or whatever) and that fireworks shiba girl knows about this ,and the whole "save-rukia" is just a good opportunity for them to take set their plan in action.

oh, the reason I even got thinking bout this was someones siggy with "you are urhara kisuke" he looks evil, and he got his green-white cap... the sword that impaled Aizen was green wasn't it, and that seems to be Kisukes favourite colour? :smile-big

NICE! You were sooo close. Aizen was alive and he faked his own death using his zanpakutou. The only thing you didn't get was his evilness and alignment with Ichimaru.
