It was quiet over the Music Department. Everything had come over a dull hush as night crept in after yet another day of elitist rantings and ravings. Many were asleep this night, comforted in the knowledge that the music department was in the safe and reliable hands of their beloved moderator.

However, Dave was outside tonight, coming home late from a gig. The streets around him danced in the shadow of the street lights. Foxes kicked over the trash cans. Behind him he heard footsteps, they followed him in the same rhythm. Not daring to turn around, Dave picked up the pace. His breath grew heavier, his chest heaved in agony as his carnal instincts gave way!

Suddenly, an alleyway! Dave ducked into the darkness and his shadowy pursuer moved past. Sighing with relief, Dave was free...until...

Turning around into the alleyway, he realised he was led into a trap and before he could cry out, a bullet rang out, striking the beloved moderator in the heart! Grasping on for life, he saw the face of his killer in front of him...

WELCOME TO THE MD MAFIA!!

Rules:

This is an 11 player game, and begins on Day One.

At night, those with special night abilities can PM me with their night action. For descriptions of your night abilities, see your role PM.

Night periods typically last 24 hours. THERE WILL BE NO TALKING DURING NIGHT PERIODS. Once the night is over, I will recap the night events, and post them. As soon as this is posted, it is day once again.

It takes a majority to enact a lynch. Lynching can only be done during the day. To vote, post “VOTE: Less”, or something to that effect. Any vote not in bold will not be counted. A “VOTE: No Lynch” will tag you as a non-lynching person. You may change your vote at any time with something like “CHANGEVOTE: Less.”

Day periods have no set time frame. Day periods will last as long as necessary to garner a lynch. I may impose a deadline if needed, however.

Your role PM will specify your character name, your role, and your abilities. Any questions on this PM should either be in a reply PM or over IM to me only.

Do not post in the game thread once you’ve been killed. This can be construed as influence beyond the grave.

You are encouraged to try and inhabit your role with your posting style. But try and keep it subtle, so as not to make a blatant roleclaim. If you feel you cannot do it subtly, then don't do it.

Don’t directly post your role in the thread. Paraphrasing, hinting, and suggesting is fine. Do not directly quote your role PM in any way (screenshot, copy-paste, forward via PM) to anyone inside the game, unless explicitly explained to you in your role PM that you are allowed to. If I see any emo posts whining about a lack of trust from other players, and any direct roleclaiming (i.e. stating your role) I will strike you down there and then. Believe it.

Do not edit your posts. Post editing is suspicious, and if you do it, you might get waxed. Double posting is fine, but keep it to a minimum, please.

Most importantly! What happens or is said in this thread STAYS in this thread! As bull-baiting is a common tactic in mafia, don't feel offended by anything anyone says or claims. However, I will NOT tolerate it if anything spills over to other threads. This is a game, and I know we're mature enough to handle that

Interesting name to be brought up for a lynching as when this first started I didn't suspect her at all. She still doesn't give off any vibes like she's in the mafia, but damned if she's just good and picking people off in the background.

Thoughts on Abbas:

At first I thought it would be him since he's always the first to start throwing names around and then want to lynch anyone who calls him out. But he could be like the boy who cried wolf except y'know, there really is a wolf. Just 'cause he's loud doesn't mean he's lying.

schon and KushyKage:

A good duo? For the most part we're throwing accusations at each other while the two pop in, vote, bounce. Leaves little traces and since we don't see them as much in the MD they don't register in our heads as fast as one of the other regs. We're all looking at each other when we've got two also in the game who very well could be the one picking people off at night. It'd be a good cover.

Actually, I really think that. Crowlie shouldn't be a mafia, nor should I be. Actually, I think Crowlie would be the only person I wouldn't vote for. I'll clarify for the nubbins, though in future games i will NEVER say how many/what roles there are:

As well as being just a townie/mafia, you can also have a certain role to play. The 2 simple ones which are usually present in every game is the doc and cop; both of whom are USUALLY townie, some more advanced games actually tinker with that alignment. It's also entirely possible to have an independent alignment, away from townie and mafia. This is normally reserved for the serial killer role.

I wont tell you the abilities the doc and cop have, but you can easily look it up at the Mafia Scum wiki

Townies wouldn't know because it actually helps the cop for people not to know. If people knew, then someone is bound to make a post as such:

Or you'll have a situation as thus:

2.

No one votes to lynch doc because they know who he is

Same can be said for cop or any other role.

As for clarifying any roles that can happen in a mafia game; as i have said in this game there is only a doc and a cop. By telling you that, im taking liberties. But in future games i may run (as some people seem really taken to this) i will add an entire colourful class of roles and abilities; but for now trust me when i say just cop and doc in this one.

Also, just to say, there is nothingto say that the doc or cop (or any role for that matter) can't come out and just say "I am [role]". The anonymity of the roles though are a matter of protection though as any veteran mafia could twig out the important roles if town knew them, trust me on that one XD

Oh yeah, it also means if town knew who were doc and cop, it makes them unlynchable. That's far too over-powering given they have a role abilitiy too

Not really, I mean that's why the townies start off with more. Every lynching that goes past without a definite result (ie - mafia death) is a loss because one of their number will perish during the night. Blissful ignorance is not something that they can afford at all since their lives are at risk

Of course, if both of you are mafia, you two will insist on voting against me, I think. You'd vote for each other when there's no real danger, but in real danger's case, I'm sure you'd vote other people, no matter how illogical it is. If total mafia number was 4, we're screwed right now. If it was 3, well, one gone, two to go, I guess.

If Audrey gets lynched, fine. If I get lynched... then I think Audrey's gonna be the next lynch target for sure, but the balance depends whether there are 3 or 4 mafia to begin with. 7 Players are alive now, if I and another townie die, then that makes 5 players. If 3 mafia are left, that ends game right there. If (after I and another townie get lynched) 5 players and 2 mafia are left, then I guess Audrey gets lynched, making 4 players, 1 mafia and 3 townie, and then one wrong guess at lynching would mean mafia winning due to equal numbers, as it would be 1 mafia and 2 townie after one gets lynched, then one townie dies at night. Which would mean that they've got only one chance to guess the mafia out of 4 person.

No matter how you look at it, chances townies guys gonna get screwed is high if I die, this is from my perspective, of course. I just write it here because if I get lynched, I won't be talking about the game afterwards naturally, so I think making a good analysis of the outcome of my lynching would help those townies afterwards. (Of course, since the situation looks grim, it won't be help of much anyways, but still.)
