After watching the OP, I'm thinking how fucking similar these shows were in some ways. s-CRY-ed, in some ways, could be the 'prototype' of what we get in Code Geass today. The OP even has the slip stream of characters that Code Geass has.

I can't remember the show fully, but the rivalry between Kazuma and Ryhohoho reminds me a lot of Suzaku and Kazuma. Kazuma was going against the powerful government than was segregating the country. Ryhohohoho was the lap dog of the government and was one of their aces.

Their powers also reminded me of some of the Geass powers. I'm sure there was more, so can anyone who is anyone a s-CRY-ed fan who knows if there are anymore parallels?

The only thing I find in common with the two shows is the music :P I swear some tracks in Geass are near rip offs of some music in Scryed lol

I don't find the characters similar at all really. The rivalry in Scryed was never as once friends now enemies, they were always at odds even untill the end. Ryuhou was a lapdog but he still upheld the justice the government represented whereas Kazuma just did whatever he liked.

Are you sure? Suzaku and Ryohou really reminded me of each other. They both seemed to be fighting against their own people and being hypocritical bishonen jackasses. Kazuma and Lelouch are different, of course; Kazuma was more of the hot-headed character while Lelouch is the genius type.

The main similarity is between Orange-kun and HAMMER!!

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the main similarity.

They were both directed by Goro Taniguchi.

So it is natural for there to be some pretty notable similarities between the two shows. Although thematically and plotwise, they're both pretty different. But both are awesome, so that makes up for it.

Well, that explains a lot. Probably one of his favorite themes I suppose:nod

"Skureye-do" doesnt deserve the same respect as Code Geass navel lint...that anime was mostly garbage, and i only realized HOW bad it sucked once i reached the end.
