I've been thinking about the metaphysical jiggery-pokery that they've just introduced into the series (The Sword of Akasha, Ragnarok, etc.) and I wonder if the title "Code Geass" means anything. You know with some anime the title means nothing important really and others it's some super important plot device.

Examples:

Gundam 00 - Titular Gundam of the series.

Neon Genesis Evangelion - Didn't mean anything

Fullmetal Alchemist - Self explanatory

You see where this is going? I think the "Code Geass" is a mindfuck that's going hit around episode 20.

I think it's the term that inspires Geass word.
Code geass is a mix of Northern mythology (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norse_mythology) and medieval litterature (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arthurian_legend).

Neon Genesis Evangelion meant something like New Beginning and i don't know if it continued being Evangelion.

I'm guessing:

Code - Reference to Code-E/R (can't remember what it was) which is C.C.
Geass - pretty self-explanatory

What the hell is this Code-E/R stuff anyway. If there is like a repository of Code Geass info, someone link me as I know like next to nothing about all this extra info, like how Nunally was the 87th princess etc.

Nunnally was the 8th Princess? :wha

Anyway, Code-E/R is the test name for C.C. and later, Orange-kun.

Thanks for that info.

Though I wouldn't be surprised if geass is a corporate product.
