Personally, I don't really hate any character... But I don't really like Kallen/Karen to be honest. Or Nina. :huh

Personally I don't see anything wrong about her being proud of her japanese heritage but hating her mother. Because from her POV (as it was then), her mother was a disgrace to everything japanese, someone who had thrown her heritage away to become a slave of the conquerors of Japan, simple as that :noworry . She also thought that her mother was pathetic for staying as a servant with her former lover, though she softened up a bit there when she understood that her mother had done it for her sake...

I'm personally annoyed with her of screaming "ZERO! ZERO! ZEEERROOOO!" even though he has earned her utter devotion. Yeah. I GET IT. You like him! And episode 9, a Kallen-centric episode, just ruined her for me. Sure, it's annoying to have a mother always living in the past, but she was such a bitch to her own mom. She was so ignorant that she didn't realize (well, she did, but she condemned her for it) what her mother was going through, calling her worthless and casting her away even when she was caring after her. She was even willing to toss her aside and let her be killed. I personally hate characters who will cast away the person who loved and raised them with their own hands, and her mom didn't even do anything wrong. It was Kallen's emotional pride that kept making her blind to everything except Japan and hate her mother just because she was trying to cling to the past (which was even understandable, considering all the losses).

Not only that, but her attitude and impulsive behavior are redundant. It's always, "OMG Lelouch! *takes out knife*" or "OMG Suzaku! *takes out knife*" or "DIE BRITANNIA! I hate you, I hate you, I hate you! *takes out Guren*" I mean, yeah, everyone's angry, but she doesn't have to say that every. Single. Time. I get it. Really, I do. You hate Suzaku and everything to do with Britannia. And when her hotheadedness gets beaten she breaks down and cries, "Brother...!" so meekly. I actually agree about Milly now. I mean, she was okay as herself at Ashford, retaining the same characteristics throughout. But whenever she's around Lloyd, it's understandable that she'd act more proper, but it's like a 180 degree on her whole personality. WTF are you, a changeable barbie doll? :huh People might call that versatility, but I call that personality augmenting in the negative and annoying way: Mary-Suism.

Anyway, yeah, so I started giving Kallen the benefit of the doubt back in episode 7 or something where she slapped Lelouch out of his stupor. But now I just can't help but laugh at her. She's as dumb as a brick and twitchy as a mouse with a seizure. Her impulsiveness hasn't changed. All she can do is yell. I can't count how many times she has done this:
