AMG NO, THIS ISN'T A PAIRING THREAD! You have the thread for that, use it well.

In Season 1, we know Shirley discovered Lelouch could possibly be Zero when she read that crumpled up letter she had written (after she had received Geass already and Lelouch made her forget who he was). We also know she was planning on confronting him about this fact, to "discuss" things, but didn't get the opportunity to do so. There's been a long time that has passed from then until Season 2 began.

It's safe to assume Shirley didn't confront Lelouch within that period, but I think this is explainable as Zero was supposedly executed. So, she would've thought that it was a mistake on her behalf and forgot about it.

Unless, of course, my memory is failing me here. Is it?

Do you think she'll confront him now that Zero is back and alive? It could bring those suspicions back.

WUT U GONNA DO LELOUCH?!

You are correct and heck yes she is.

She's gonna jump back into Lulu's life at some point and I bet it's gonna be soon. She was talking with him in the preview for 3 so things are gonna start to heat up again :knk

It seems likely that Shirley got her memory reset, um, again, along with the rest of the student council. Otherwise she, Millay, and Rivalz would have to be really really really REALLY gullible to accept the disappearance of Nunnally and appearance of Rollo. So, Shirley has probably lost her knowledge of Zero's true identity.

I agree with Marsala. I think they've all been brain fried: Shirely included.

^ That's a good point Marsala.

But I was hoping their minds weren't completely reset. Instead, it was a simple rewrite where the memory of Nunnally was replaced with Rollo. If they were reset, it would suck because they kind of left that hanging at the end of Season 1. Not to mention, it would be a sort of cop out as it's the second time it's happened to Shirley.

I'm not too sure on how the Emperor uses his ability (I assume it was him who would've done it), but I thought he had not gotten rid of all their memories as they're still friends (Millay, Rivalz, Shirley etc.), and obviously Shirley still has the crush on Lelouch. They're basically how they used to be, except Rollo has taken the place of Nunnally.

I'm hoping there wasn't a complete reset. :(

Definitely not. The reasons mentioned above state why, but i'll put it in my words anyways. Shirley and the others have obviously had their minds altered. They used to know that Lelouch had a sister named Nunnaly, but now they have no memory of her...she has been replaced by Rollo. Milly used to know that Lelouch was actually Lelouch Vi Britannia...this has likely been removed from her memory as well. Shirley showed no reaction when she watched the Zero broadcast.

What would be interesting is if Shirley somehow got her memory back. She would once again blame Zero for altering her memory...wouldn't she? That would be interesting.

I think the mass memory reset was a pretty sadistic move by the Emperor. Really cold and calculating. The students probably don't have any memory of the Black Knights taking over their school during the previous war either!

Yeah, I guess it is pretty solidly implied that they had their memories altered. Wouldn't Shirley recognize Villetta if her memory wasn't altered? When Lelouch geassed her he didn't remove all her memories, just the recent ones of him, right?

That and the Nina incident probably had to be covered up.

There's still a possibility that they didn't lose them but it seems like they at least got a partial removal.

Either way, it would be completely pointless to give Shirley back her memory at the end of Season 1 if they didn't continue with it here. That's why I believe she will confront him. Hope Sunrise delivers :I

Shirley showed no reaction when she watched the Zero broadcast.

In the first season, whenever they showed them watching the dramatic Zero broadcasts, they were like that too. They've always been completely focused when watching TV so it's not very telling.

I will say this though...If Rollo switches sides...it will be a lot more difficult for Viletta to do so.
